- Gina Lollobrigida stars on Dean Martin TV show in Feb 1969. Video and sound not great, from OTA then pulled from storage, transferred, etc. Gina does her own singing (before becoming an actress, she sang in nightclubs to earn money for art classes). Gina sings then does a skit with Dino followed with a duet.

Without any acting experience, practically out of the rubbles of WWII, she already shows her potential. Watching her, we know she will be a major movie star.

Later in the show there was a skit with Dean, Gina and Phil Silvers. In the skit Dean was supposed to be too shy to talk to girls and Phil tells Dean to watch him as he chats up Gina. Phil says the way to get to know a girl is to compliment her on her looks and says the following to Gina. Oh you are so beautiful, your hair, your eyes, your lips. Then Dean interjects, Don't stop now, you're just getting to the good stuff.

I've lusted all my life for Gina too, like a lot of boys my age. But she never made many good movies in English. I wish I could understand Italian, or find the Italian movies she was in with subtitles. Lot of them are just not available. It's a shame so many great foreign movies are lost, especially the ones before color film was prevalent. So much bad film comes from Hollywood. The good ones now, for me, are few and far between.
Theo - please watch "Come September" with Rock Hudson and Gina Lollobrigida - it was so funny and absolutely hysterial! She of course was beautiful - even without jewelry she is a gem!

That was on the VHS tape, nothing I could do about it. Probably a result of inconsistent tape flutter across recording head when it was recorded.
