    This is terribly clever! I wanted to mention that my nanny used to hang an open bobbypin on the rim of the lamp chimney to keep the glass cool. I think any piece of thin metal would work.
    I really like anything that reuses glass too as it is so hard to recycle. Plus it is a great excuse to eat capers!

    I removed the glue from like 25 jars one year at Christmas, and every single one had one of two types of glue. Some glue was reactivated by hot water and soap, and some by oil and baking soda (with a scrubber). It all came off 100% with minimal effort

      🇧🇷 O que é o Islã? 🇧🇷
      Allah , the Eternal Refuge.
      Jamais gerou ou foi gerado.
      E ninguém é comparável a Ele. } (Alcorão 112:1-4)
      🔵 Tornar-se muçulmano não é dar as costas para Jesus.
      🔴 É voltar aos ensinamentos originais de Jesus e obedecê-lo....

    A ring of cotton twine works better since the heat stress zone is narrower and thus creates a more clean and controllable break. You do have to make sure it's level all around the jar though or it will snap crooked.

    you also need a hole to equalize pressure in the main oil bottle on the lid this is the very most important vent hole in this whole design which is dangerous without it! If your lantern flicker it is either starved of oil (you need more wick) or it is starved for air (you could use more of that also). When you are starved of oil then you will burn wick which generated both soot and Carbon monoxide (poisonous). You need a few more strands in your wick.

    • @starsixseven9259
      @starsixseven9259 10 місяців тому

      What if you make the hole in the bolt larger, could that work, or not really?

    • @morayjames92
      @morayjames92 10 місяців тому

      @@starsixseven9259 no the hole in the bolt should just be for the wick and the wick should be made to be a comfortably snug but not tight fit for the wick. In this design the wick should be no larger than 1/4"' or 6mm in diametre for safe operation. I hope this helps.
