    During the lockdown I had the experience of slowly figuring out that THC was causing mild psychosis in me. At first I was disappointed - it just got legalized and I already can't take it anymore? But I've come to appreciate the learning experience of having temporary psychosis recently, oddly enough.
    I've heard some describe psychosis as the brain confusing internal objects as external. In some cases, for example, my fear of rejection kept being put on to the outside world, giving me the feeling that I was being talked poorly about by everyone despite that clearly not being the case. Had I not learned to fear rejection during childhood these specific voices would never have appeared in my brain causing me anxiety! Having my brain sort of project well hidden internal conflicts into the external world during that mild psychosis really helped shine a light on to those unresolved problems.

      @DarkMoonDroid 3 роки тому +3

      Normal people who don't do any drugs at all experience projection all the time. It is not only for the "mentally ill". Large groups also project from the collective sub-c. It's normal.
      That said, if mj brot it to your attention and you want to minimize it, Shadow Work is your next move. It's great! It won't totally disappear or stop, but you can get some kind of traction on the process and learn about what is you and what isn't. This will make it less likely that you'll be breaking your relationships by believing people hate you when they don't.

    I spent two years in Africa after having witnessed my own brother suffer a psychotic break which then got diagnosed as "schizophrenia"...as it turns out wrongly now in my eyes as I think it was simply a psychotic break induced by an lsd trip.He was not doing that great I believe before and so the lsd I believe simply opened up all the trauma and so on from our family system and and ancestral stuff too I now have later discovered due to my own "spiritual emergence/break through"much later.
    I had seen people in Africa who were to all intents and purposes "psychotic"or acting out in such ways that would be seen as someone being "mad"or mentally ill,even one guy brandishing a machete and me feeling very afraid but those around just laughing as they knew him and it seems he did not feel he was a risk and more or less allowed him to come and go as he pleased.I saw another person who was also what you might suppose experiencing some sort of "psychosis"and he was also left to wonder around and people would feed him and so on.
    I do not think this is always the case though and I have heard of and know people who have been killed and subject to group violence and attacks and who have died because of their mental health condition.
    I have also had long term relationships 7/8 years with a few significant others who come from various countries in Africa and I have to say I found some of the same prejudices,stigma and judgements I may have found from my western "friends".
    I know it is very variable in Africa where or how what is called "mental illness might be treated and I also know that people can be killed if they are considered possessed by evil spirits..this does happen unfortunately.
    Now I do not know enough how it was precolonial times and how now with the western view of mental illness and western psychiatric model has infiltratrated many African cultures but I also think its important not to simplify too much and say everything western = bad and everything "non western"= good.Sometimes I think there is far too much danger of doing this simplistic analysis and I think it can be more complicated and nuanced than this.
    My overall feeling though now and what I see as being the major difference is that community and connection is one of the most powerful healing treatments there is and isolating and marginalising anyone or locating an individual outside of their community or environment as having the problem is one of the most harmful and damaging things any community can do and not looking at what they are going through in terms of social/cultural environment they are in,be that the family of origin or the wider society and unmet needs or blind spots the society may have as the "sick person"more or less being the canary alerting the community to an imbalance or unhealthiness within their social system.
    I now see many what are called "mental illnesses"in this light now.People are responding to a breakdown of community structures and meaning and lack of connection which I think is much stronger in many African societies I experienced but often due to extreme poverty and the pressures thereof and also I'm sure the breakdown of precolonial social structures etc which would have sustained people in various ways find they are not able to do so now and some have bought into the western notions and sometimes extreme superstitiousness and fear overtakes.
    Whilst I believe in spirit attachments and other archetypal forces of light and dark and basically shamanic type experiences of death and rebirth etc that can be perturbing someone I also strongly believe in the need for real discernment and know there can be many who call themselves shamans who most certainly do not meet that criteria and who can be as abusive and negligent as any western psychiatrist.
    I know people now in Africa who are really working hard to fight stigma and also reinstate such strong peer support systems which in my view are some of the most effective ways we can support people to go through whatever they need to whilst setting any safe parameters and boundaries to keep the person and those around them safe"

See a gastrointestinal doctor and get your gut bacteria checked, that may be a possibly area of trouble that could contribute to the symptoms.

    And we should not forget: Western medicine and science is also a lot of ideology and a lot of ego. And why is there so much ego? Well... if you weren't wanted as a child then why not just got into medicine, then people are going to want you all the time ;)
    Western medicine and science is deeply flawed.

      What would you say is the ideology of western medicine?

    • @bastian6173
      @bastian6173 3 роки тому +2

      @@ebstooge I think the main ideology is that most things are pathologized and things are explained using a biological basis as Daniel also states in his video.
      Another point is the mind-body separation. Mind and body can't be separated. Every thought, every emotion has a biological basis. And most diseases begin in the gut, which again is connected to the brain and your emotional state. It's all one.
      Medicine openly admits that they don't understand where a lot chronic and mental problems are coming from yet it is at the same time suggesting that you need pill xyz to heal.
      For acute things, Western medicine is great. They can do a lot of great stuff. I mean... heart transplants.. like WTF? But when it comes to chronic conditions such as autoimmune disease or mental problems which are both on the rise, it doesn't really help anybody.
      Medicine shouldn't be based on opinions. It should be based on facts and raw physics.

  • @chillingongreens
    @chillingongreens 3 роки тому +8

    Diet, exercise, community. Or food, work, and love.
    The health benefits of less sugar, meat, and overall calorie intake should also be studied more. But it won't because that does not support the industrial machine. Our sciences may be advanced by technology, but its approach is still biased due to society.
    Sometimes stripping down all the layers provides a good control setting for our modern assumptions. I mean, if scientists and doctors aren't willing to admit their practices are outdated or biased, then how are they going to make progress?
    What percentage is it for the FDA to deem a drug effective? 15%? 10%? And how many doctors are confused and frustrated, behind closed doors, as they try prescribing different drugs to patients while they aren't sure of an outcome?
    Meanwhile, the pharmaceuticals continue to overcharge. And the governments love to watch the money grow instead of caring for the people getting sicker.
    We live in a pretty messed up jungle. All our evil is right there at face value. It doesn't take a genius. But the truth is inconvenient.
    Money isn't evil. It's just a tool. And we are showing what we will do to get it.
    Sorry for ranting.

    Thanks for this Daniel. We had a very tangential discussion in my house similar to this. If you have a problem like psychosis then its better to believe you are possessed by a demon then you believe you are like a broken toy. One is a state of combat where you are going to expel something alien to you, and the other is a position of being broken and helpless needing a fix from someone else. But you mentioned also it was out of the realm of possibility for you to think such a thing could be real? What do you think you ultimately are? An electrical storm in a skull? Or an eternal spirit? Its the same framing as the psychosis problem.
