  • Approximately 3 in 100 people will experience an episode of psychosis during their lifetime according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. This program will discuss First Episode Psychosis or FEP, the first time a person experiences psychotic symptoms. A panel of mental health experts will talk about those symptoms, warning signs, diagnosis and treatment.

    Psychosis may also be caused by Bi-Polar. It may also be caused by stress and be a 1 time occurence. There are a few more reasons besides schizophrenia.

    Psychosis also are presented into Bipolar Disorder Type I.

    These days the family is cut off from teens over 18 due to privacy rules. You can’t see grades, doctor reports, medications, etc. We didn’t even know our daughter was involuntarily committed and kicked out of her college due to first-episode psychosis until after the fact.
    Family support is so important, yet everything is working against family support.
