    For vegetarians and vegans:
    Emu Oil is extracted from the thick fat on the Emu's back. To remove the oil and the surrounding fat, the Emu has to be killed. Although edible, Emu meat is considered pretty unappetizing and tough - so Emus are really only being 'harvested' for cosmetic oil purposes (i.e. emu oil).
    An alternative would be a product called GREEMU. This has the thickness and consistency of Emu Oil, but made from plants and nut butters.

    Great vid. I’ve learned the hard way. I used to aggressively brush my beard every day. Hairs cracking and popping all over. My whole beard had become split ends all wirey growing in every damn direction. I’m now currently repairing it. Plenty of oil and for the last 6 months only trimming from the bottom. Slowly the split ends are getting long enough to have their heads cut off
    at the bottom. It is slowly making a difference thought. It certainly is a marathon not a sprint. Beard for life man 😎

    Good tip for anyone who may encounter a patchy uneven beard because of overcombing, breakage, and split ends but doesn't want to completely restart, shave ur beard into a goatee and trim up the split ends with scissors and let the sides grow in, using the advice in this video. You'll get a fuller beard, good looking beard within only a month or two.

      Thanks for checking out the video! You should try switching your balm for a butter also. Balm can have a lot of wax depending on how it’s made and may prevent outher products from penetrating your hair strands to moisturize them. 👊🏾

      @R3thed007 5 років тому

      @@BeardedExistence The balm I currently use isn't that waxy, and is pretty soft for a balm. Worth looking into butter though. When I went to bed last night (I live in Holland) I used more than twice the amount of oil I normally use, about as much as you showed during the video, and my beard was still quite soft this morning. Normally it's really dry. I just got home and my beard was still soft. I put in some more oil just now, because I don't wanna go back lol! A lot of people recommend the normal 3-5 drops but that seems aimed far more at straight fine hair than coarse and curly or wooly beards. I use a full dropper sometimes more every morning and night and my skin/beard just soaks it up, barely anything left on my hands. Bro thanks so much. Although I didn’t use the emu oil, I used another brand, I deeply oiled my beard. As I was doing it I could literally feel the dryness. Even after oiling it I could still feel dryness. However as I begin to comb it out, I was surprised to see how much length began to appear in my beard! I was ready to give up and cut my beard before I stumbled on to your video. But now I’ve seen that my growth was being hidden to my lack of care and dedication . But now after seeing how far my beard began to drop down and how long and full it looks I’m rededicated! Wow didn’t know my beard was this long. I just thought it wouldn’t grow. Thanks for the lesson. You have a new subscriber!

      D'Arice Carter thanks for the sub bro!! Yes growing a curly beard is a journey!! Once your beard is long enough to twist at night you can start that routine ( but if you start twisting make sure your beard is moisturized and healthy first) twisting will train your hairs to lengthen out and become easier to comb!! Much success bro!! 👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾

    Thank you for this video and especially the wording you used lol, you convinced me I needed a more oiled beard when I had convinced myself that I was using too much. Thought 6 or 7 drops was like the max but turns out I needed to be using like 9 or 10, now I get less breakage, makes sense since the beard keeps growing! Good stuff bro.

    I get a lot of breaking on the corners of my chin around the jawline. I also have a lot of “wood hairs” that’s grow there, you know the extremely thick hairs that have 5 or 6 in one follicle. No matter how much oil I use, my chin and neck are always so coarse and dry.

    Great presentation brother. I’ll try the emu oil. My question is, based on your experience, do you have any recommendation on the use of other types of oil or maybe a type of leave in conditioner one can use as part of a beard night time treatment. My own beard is thick and full (but much shorter than yours) yet I have noticed some small amounts of breakage - similar to what you described - in managing my own beard. Thanks for sharing your information. Peace.

    • @BeardedExistence
      @BeardedExistence  6 років тому +1

      jakejudah 12 I don’t really care for leave in conditioners im sure there are some good ones out there but the ones I have tried seem to dry me out long term. Do a condition only wash at least 2x per week and deep condition at least 1x per month play with the oils until you find one you like and play with the amounts of you wake up in the morning and your beard is greasy you went to heavy!! Check my video called beard conditioning I think I showed how to make a nighttime oil! Much success bro 👊🏾
