you all prolly dont give a shit but does anybody know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the login password. I would love any help you can give me!
It's been 2 weeks since I watched your video and have been hydrating it every night like you said, it never looked healthier than it is now. I've been doing it wrong for my whole life. Thanks man!
I’ve been in this same rut for about 2 years now. Was like you and just thought it was the norm. After ALOT research on the internet and watching a lot of videos I’ve fixed the problem and can tell an enormous difference in the health of my beard. Great video bro!
For vegetarians and vegans: Emu Oil is extracted from the thick fat on the Emu's back. To remove the oil and the surrounding fat, the Emu has to be killed. Although edible, Emu meat is considered pretty unappetizing and tough - so Emus are really only being 'harvested' for cosmetic oil purposes (i.e. emu oil). An alternative would be a product called GREEMU. This has the thickness and consistency of Emu Oil, but made from plants and nut butters.
My dude, you should get on your UA-cam game a little more, i understand life gets in the way, but you have an "IT" factor, great beard for us to aspire to and thank you for your videos and time to bring us great content, cheers from Dominican Republic.
I never did that 3-5 drop bs. I stay putting at least a quarter size amount in my palm. All depending on how long your beard is, and if you end up with excess oil you can put it on your skin or hair or whatever. Great video brother!
Great vid. I’ve learned the hard way. I used to aggressively brush my beard every day. Hairs cracking and popping all over. My whole beard had become split ends all wirey growing in every damn direction. I’m now currently repairing it. Plenty of oil and for the last 6 months only trimming from the bottom. Slowly the split ends are getting long enough to have their heads cut off at the bottom. It is slowly making a difference thought. It certainly is a marathon not a sprint. Beard for life man 😎
Great Information! I'm 63 years old and I have been rocking a beard since my early thirties. It's been a way of life for me for years. Keep schooling my brother. Beardbrand does an excellent job enlightening, but African American men have issues unique to the texture of hair.
My man!!!!! I have always used way more oil than what everyone says you’re supposed to use. I was looking for Emu Oil updates and I’ve seen two so far. My Emu Oil is supposed to be here tomorrow. Can’t wait to see the results. Thanks for all the great videos!!! MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT!!!!
Just seeing this. I'm about 2 1/2 months into mine and I couldn't understand why my beard would be dry after showering, applying my beard product, (been using beard guyz) and 20min later its dry..like ridgid dry. When I comb I do have breakage, seeing it for the first time tonight. Guess I've been using too little. Going to try another product and more of it. Thanks for this👍
Dude where have you been the last 10 months of my beard journey. Lol. I have watched countless hrs on beard maintenance and no one has explained it the way you did. I have that same problem with beard hair falling out very time I comb it. I will be changing my beard routine as of right now and I will keep you posted. Thx a milly for this video. Keep up the great work. I am definitely gonna click that LIKE & SUB BUTTON.
Mr Morris thanks for the support and feedback!! Let me know how it works out!! Also I’m not sure if you know but there will be a live stream tonight!! Come chop it up with your boy. It will be on bthebarber’s channel👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
This video changed my beard life 5 YEARS AGO. I used to think my beard just grew funny because of genetics of something but this video taught me to switch to a WOOD COMB and that change everything THANK YOU
Good tip for anyone who may encounter a patchy uneven beard because of overcombing, breakage, and split ends but doesn't want to completely restart, shave ur beard into a goatee and trim up the split ends with scissors and let the sides grow in, using the advice in this video. You'll get a fuller beard, good looking beard within only a month or two.
Great video bro. Sometimes i use more oil than that! Definitely helps to keep the beard moisturized longer, especially for us thick, curly beard dudes, whos beards soaks up beard oil easily.
Thanks brother. I try and get by using oil every couple days and not having a deep moisturizing routine except after I shower every 2 to 3 days. Needless to say I have breakage and dry skin. Thanks for this reminder!!!
Yes sir! Want different results? Change the process! Def gonna Start a night routine and condition a tad bit before I brush when I get home and wake up. Keep being rad!
When I cut wheat out of my diet and switched to buckwheat or oats for all my grain needs and switched from red meat to fish and switched from soybean oil to coconut oil... I stopped counting the hairs in my brush, I used to count 10-20 everytime I brushed and I found more in the tub too... now NONE come out and NOTHING in the tub... almost NEVER lose a hair now!
I've seen good beards and great beards, this guys beard is EPIC. Great full beard AND stache, can't complain about that. I'm 3 months in to growing a full beard, good advise about avoiding breakage. My beard hair isn't even close to being straight, it grows in every direction, very crinkly.
Exactly. I finally got the good sense to read the back of some of the packages and got some ideas from a lot of the dudes on here and made my own. More investment upfront but cheaper.
I'm glad somebody said it!! We gotta stop this "3 drops" "4 drops" is all you need stuff!!! Like you said, your hands absorb at least 2 of those drops. Great info like always bruh!!
I've watched alot of beard videos, weather it be beard care or beard products and this would have to probably be the best. So informative bro! Appreciate your work!
I apply my beard oil by putting 10 drops on my palm & dab a toothbrush in it & apply with a toothbrush. Works perfect & penetrates the beard and giving it a good soak of oil.
I got more from this one video than I have from watching 8 other videos from other guys on UA-cam. I strongly agree with you about the beard oil thing because most of the 2 to 3 drops is in your hand. Thanks for posting.
I don’t know how good it is for the beard, but it works for me. I use Jamaican Black Castor Oil for my night time routine. No balm at night. What are your thoughts on that?
sazbabebemisterbeardandbraces JBCO is official I just didn’t like the smell and it was a little to sticky for I went away from it but if it’s working for you stick with it👊🏾
My god, you hit the nail on the head! My beard is quite wooly, and indeed it's straighter in the front compared to 'under the hood'. You're the first youtuber I've come across to mention that. I realize I don't moisturize enough, because my beard always feels rough 'under the hood', even though I use balm and oil. Thank you so much for these tips! Great video, great beard!
Thanks for checking out the video! You should try switching your balm for a butter also. Balm can have a lot of wax depending on how it’s made and may prevent outher products from penetrating your hair strands to moisturize them. 👊🏾
@@BeardedExistence The balm I currently use isn't that waxy, and is pretty soft for a balm. Worth looking into butter though. When I went to bed last night (I live in Holland) I used more than twice the amount of oil I normally use, about as much as you showed during the video, and my beard was still quite soft this morning. Normally it's really dry. I just got home and my beard was still soft. I put in some more oil just now, because I don't wanna go back lol! Unfortunately, I have some split ends and I'm contemplating on getting a trim. I'm not sure if I'll be good without a trim. Last trim was about 6 weeks ago.
I've been growing my beard for 5 years and cut it down, and then grow back again. It appears that we're in a great movement self-identification and awareness of your hair. I want a full head of hair is well as a full beard and it's not happening.
i like how you showed different curly textures - mine is around 3b some leaning towards 3c n so i really needed this video ❤ i hope breakage is minimal for the future n a thing of the past
Very great info! I used to do this with my beard all the time and I would get crazy split ends all the time! I normal use pure, unrefined sweet almond and avocado oils
Excellent talking points...and your beard is pretty solid too man! I do not use enough oil. I don't do anything at night. I do get split ends. Therefore, I will take your points and see what sort of improvements I can make.
I like the use of the word "invite" in.. invite split ends. Very smart way to put it because it is all your own fault. Really an intelligent look at split ends and amount of beard oil. I appreciate you and thank you. Cheers - Mickey
I just got onto the beard oil a couple weeks ago and was told my beard looks darker. Been growing for almost 3 months and I guess the oil is making my beard healthy and not dry looking
I tried growing my beard for about 2 years, had constant breaking and split ends, I trimmed it to keep it full, but in the end I cut it all off. I am growing it back now, hoping things are better with changes to my routine, thank you for the info.
i'm at the 18 month mark and starting to get concerned that over time, the hair loss will make the beard too sparse to keep. is that why you shaved it off? i'm losing the whole hair and don't want to end up with a Billie Gibbons beard.
@@BeardedExistence thanks to your advice, i did start a night time routine. dampen then oil before bed.i have noticed that after my morning shower, it isn't dried out like it was. i don't do my morning lube till after breakfast.
I know this is an old video but still really great advice. A lot of people recommend the normal 3-5 drops but that seems aimed far more at straight fine hair than coarse and curly or wooly beards. I use a full dropper sometimes more every morning and night and my skin/beard just soaks it up, barely anything left on my hands. At first I was afraid of using too much but it was clear my beard needed more, glad you broke it down here.
Just found this and man I needed this in the beginning stages only three months into my growth process of my beard due to being in the Marine Corps but I needed this you the G.O.A.T
Absolutely great video. Ive got about half your length of beard and have been struggling with breaks when combing for ages. Im gonna try your technique, thankyou
Very good advice, one more thing is to use a decent conditioner after you wash your beard, there are some that control split ends, but I try to use ones that don't have any form of silicone. Your beard is awesome!
Man this is wild! I’m a white dude with a super thick and curly beard and it never occurred to me to check into how a black fella would moisturize and care for his beard because mine is very similar. I struggle a lot with beard hair loss and breakage & I was ready to just shave it off and be done with it. My under the hood area is so thick and the only way to comb it is to drown it in conditioner in the shower and comb real slow and even then there’s snags in it. I need to pick up this nighttime routine real quick - I didn’t even know you were supposed to have a nighttime routine. This was a badass video bro & I appreciate you making it.
Great info bro, i definitely use more oil then suggested on the bottle. I don’t get much breakage but I do get a lot of shedding when applying product and styling. A sink full of beard hairs can be scary even though it’s natural sometimes. Take care!
It's called terminal length and if it's reached its terminal length then it will fall off naturally. But if you brush it and it pulls/breaks off, then you probably need to apply more beard oil
I'm sure you need more than the average to moisturize that massive beard but I get what you're saying. I used to use a lot more oil than I do now and I feel like my breakage didn't reduce any. Maybe I need that emu oil !
Darius Lumpkin what’s up fam!! I didn’t really explain everything s good as I should have on a damp beard 1st and I don’t use the emu alone I use two other products with it. I was trying to show that the amount I use at night is like 3x what I use in the morning.
100% accurate about the 3-5 drops! Thats only enough to moisturize a 5 oclock shadow lols I just checked the price on that emu oil too ... wheeeewww thats top shelf right there aha
BRDGNG yeah bro 55 for the 16 oz on amazon but when you think about it most 2oz bottles of beard oil go for $20. Thanks for watching and the feedback!!👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
You are spot on again my brother, my beard is breaking and I have alot of split ends .. I'm going to buy a conditioner.. and use more oils.. I have a plastic afro pick .. should I buy a sandal wool pick?
Michael Booker don’t sweat it we go through those times check your diet and supplement if necessary! When your beard gets a certain length it also gets harder to tell when it’s growing 👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
I just started my emu And Moisturizers one week ago and been applying it like you said. I only had a half inch of hair with missing spots now I have a bout an inch with no spots
Aw man I just watch the video and it was very insightful. All this time I thought it was normal and assumed it was part of shedding. Thanks so much for this video. I will start to be more serious on my night time routine and slowly picking my beard out.
Bro thanks so much. Although I didn’t use the emu oil, I used another brand, I deeply oiled my beard. As I was doing it I could literally feel the dryness. Even after oiling it I could still feel dryness. However as I begin to comb it out, I was surprised to see how much length began to appear in my beard! I was ready to give up and cut my beard before I stumbled on to your video. But now I’ve seen that my growth was being hidden to my lack of care and dedication . But now after seeing how far my beard began to drop down and how long and full it looks I’m rededicated! Wow didn’t know my beard was this long. I just thought it wouldn’t grow. Thanks for the lesson. You have a new subscriber!
D'Arice Carter thanks for the sub bro!! Yes growing a curly beard is a journey!! Once your beard is long enough to twist at night you can start that routine ( but if you start twisting make sure your beard is moisturized and healthy first) twisting will train your hairs to lengthen out and become easier to comb!! Much success bro!! 👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
Good one bro what I do is wash leave in conditioner emu oil and beard butter everyday what do u think about that I also use jahamacan Castor oil what u think bout that?
Great video. It's straight up practical experience, not pretentious product selling. I'm going to see if I can tame my breakage. Thanks for the education!
Damn, I have been messing up for a long time. I didn't know what to do and I pretty much accepted it. I was just curious if anyone had a solution or explanation. Thanks man, you probably saved my beard.
Thank you for this video and especially the wording you used lol, you convinced me I needed a more oiled beard when I had convinced myself that I was using too much. Thought 6 or 7 drops was like the max but turns out I needed to be using like 9 or 10, now I get less breakage, makes sense since the beard keeps growing! Good stuff bro.
I feel you bro your idea works but u know you gonna have breakage any. Way i do the jahamacan castor oil and shea butter at night and do in the morning and ad beard balm with the same stuff!✌😎
Wow, I just found your video and was amazed to hear this. I have the breakage problem and my beard is really thin looking. I'm definitely going to use your suggestions and start moisturizing my beard more and more often. Thanks man!
Thank you definitely need to do your nightly routine again. I wouldn’t mind seeing how much oil you use.!! I definitely see a lot of growth in your mustache too that’s a weak point for me that’s my “comb over “because my beard doesn’t really connect at the mustache so I have to grow it long ..! I appreciate you brotha thanks again
Aaron Frank thanks bro!! I’m definitely going to put my nighttime routine out my mustache used to grow slower than everywhere else too. Thanks for watching 👊🏾
Yo dawg... your Advice on the emu oil Alongside other moisturizers doing an excellent job I can feel the difference.I can see the difference I’ve been having a Breakage problem for years and I didn’t know why. thanks B
Damn man not gonna lie.. the way you explained it while twisting your fingers up made it make a shit ton of sense. I definitely need to moisturize my face. Thanks
Thanks brother! I have just started my journey and hoping for better results than last time. Your videos are definitely helping and I appreciate it. Do you recommend a particular brand of shea butter?
Taj LaRocque I use the 100% she butter that vine in the tub I did a video on it but I don’t remember the name of the video I will look it up!! Much success on your beard journey 👊🏾

I get a lot of breaking on the corners of my chin around the jawline. I also have a lot of “wood hairs” that’s grow there, you know the extremely thick hairs that have 5 or 6 in one follicle. No matter how much oil I use, my chin and neck are always so coarse and dry.
BlaqMambaX welcome to the club lol!! The right routines will soften it up!! I used to think that was just the way my beard was supposed to feel until I started to change my process!!👊🏾
Great presentation brother. I’ll try the emu oil. My question is, based on your experience, do you have any recommendation on the use of other types of oil or maybe a type of leave in conditioner one can use as part of a beard night time treatment. My own beard is thick and full (but much shorter than yours) yet I have noticed some small amounts of breakage - similar to what you described - in managing my own beard. Thanks for sharing your information. Peace.
jakejudah 12 I don’t really care for leave in conditioners im sure there are some good ones out there but the ones I have tried seem to dry me out long term. Do a condition only wash at least 2x per week and deep condition at least 1x per month play with the oils until you find one you like and play with the amounts of you wake up in the morning and your beard is greasy you went to heavy!! Check my video called beard conditioning I think I showed how to make a nighttime oil! Much success bro 👊🏾

WOW this video makes so much sense... it’s incredible. THANK YOU!!!! You’re a great UA-camr
That beard is majestic my brother... keep up us up to date with any new info you may stumble upon through your bearded journey... Peace.
I use the emu oil and beard butter on my face only and it work well
loved the video. can someone tell me as a black man how offten should I wash my beard?
Absolutely great video. Ive got about half your length of beard and have been struggling with breaks when combing for ages. Im gonna try your technique, thankyou
I appreciate the wisdom, OG. About to cop me some emu oil right now.
Very good advice, one more thing is to use a decent conditioner after you wash your beard, there are some that control split ends, but I try to use ones that don't have any form of silicone. Your beard is awesome!
Thanks much appreciated and you are definitely correct using a good conditioner 👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
Thanks I appreciate the support and feedback! Much luv👊🏾
Probably the best beard I ever seen on a brother. I’m new to this and very grateful for your knowledge. Thank you brother.
Thanks for checking out the channel bro👊🏾
Bearded Existence Anytime brother
Great info bro, i definitely use more oil then suggested on the bottle. I don’t get much breakage but I do get a lot of shedding when applying product and styling. A sink full of beard hairs can be scary even though it’s natural sometimes. Take care!
Same here man I thought I hit a ceiling but this video may get me to another level
Shedding is my problem.. Any suggestions on this. Fucking hate it
It's called terminal length and if it's reached its terminal length then it will fall off naturally. But if you brush it and it pulls/breaks off, then you probably need to apply more beard oil
YOOOO THIS MANS BEARD IS A1
🙏🏾🙏🏾thanks much appreciated 👊🏾
I use Coconut Oil at night and your product in the morning
I use beard lotion and beard balm at nighttime a.m. in the morning
@@BeardedExistence gotcha. Thank you and I get where you were going. I still want to try emu oil doe 😁
Can you use wild growth oil?@ Bearded Existence
100% accurate about the 3-5 drops! Thats only enough to moisturize a 5 oclock shadow lols
I just checked the price on that emu oil too ... wheeeewww thats top shelf right there aha
Conditioner isn't good for beards believe it or not
Also, i recommend..heavy oils are good for the night routine
Man my growth has been really stagnant thank you!!
Michael Booker don’t sweat it we go through those times check your diet and supplement if necessary! When your beard gets a certain length it also gets harder to tell when it’s growing 👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
Bearded Existence can you do a vid on fruits and veggies you would recommend putting in our diet?
Michael Booker ok I got you👊🏾
Good video is this Emu oil many thanks
I just started my emu And Moisturizers one week ago and been applying it like you said. I only had a half inch of hair with missing spots now I have a bout an inch with no spots
Thanks for the feedback and for checking out the channel!! Continued success on your beard journey 👊🏾
Awesome video, gives me a lot to improve on, ive got some of the curliest driest beard hairs ive ever seen and struggle to get it to grow strong.
Bearded Mainer thanks bro!! Yeah stay consistent with your routines and you will see big differences in your beard!! Much success on your journey 👍🏾👊🏾
You got a new subscriber in me here...i got a beard with lots of kinks and this helps a lot glad I found your channel big bro
Aw man I just watch the video and it was very insightful. All this time I thought it was normal and assumed it was part of shedding. Thanks so much for this video. I will start to be more serious on my night time routine and slowly picking my beard out.
Valery Lionel thanks bro!! Much success👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
Good sound advice. My beard is fantastic and I've been doing a similar regime for 8 years. Keep it moist.
What emu oil are you using? This is a great video thank you?
Can’t thank you enough for this video ! Perfect examples for beard types and oil amounts, buying that emu oil ASAP.
Great video. It's straight up practical experience, not pretentious product selling. I'm going to see if I can tame my breakage. Thanks for the education!
Thanks for watching and for the feedback 👍🏾👊🏾
Straight up knowledge! Respect
Much appreciated 👊🏾
Damn, I have been messing up for a long time. I didn't know what to do and I pretty much accepted it. I was just curious if anyone had a solution or explanation. Thanks man, you probably saved my beard.
NESW thanks for the feedback let me know how it works out for you👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
Thank you for this video and especially the wording you used lol, you convinced me I needed a more oiled beard when I had convinced myself that I was using too much. Thought 6 or 7 drops was like the max but turns out I needed to be using like 9 or 10, now I get less breakage, makes sense since the beard keeps growing! Good stuff bro.
Chris the Bearded Wonder thanks much appreciated!! Stay strong on your beard journey 👍🏾👊🏾
What product would you recommend to wash your beard?
You would think that brands would recommend using more product! It would mean more sales for them. thank you for spreading the truth bro! ✊🏾
I feel you bro your idea works but u know you gonna have breakage
any.
Thanks man!
Coconut Oil is the solution, it is cheap and very healthy for your skin and beard.
Olive oil is expensive AF here so can I use olive oil? xD
That's all I use my G!! Softee coconut oil!!
Coconut oil makes my beard and skin itch
Great information my brother. Lord bless you. Makes sense with my breakage! Emu oil on tab, now!
I have a short beard. Use raw coconut oil on it after washing.
Great beard. Whats the name of the moisturizer you use at night time?
new to the channel looking around for more tips on my beard
Emu oil.... I’ll try it. Thanks 🙏🏾
Yo dawg... your Advice on the emu oil Alongside other moisturizers doing an excellent job I can feel the difference.I can see the difference I’ve been having a Breakage problem for years and I didn’t know why. thanks B
Thanks for the feedback!! Much success on your beard journey glad you found some I do here that helped🙏🏾👊🏾
@@BeardedExistence I will look for the video. Thank you again for doing these videos. I have subscribed and will definitely be giving feedback. Love is love!
Taj LaRocque thanks for the sub much appreciated

Gabriel Hernandez thanks Let me know how it works for you👍🏾👊🏾

John E Touchstone III thanks bro I appreciate the support and feedback!! Beard salute 👍🏾👍🏾👊🏾
excellent information and video.....content is excellent....a beard channel that is useful and on point....excellent
HOWARD NEVIN Thank you 👊🏾
I get a lot of breaking on the corners of my chin around the jawline. I also have a lot of “wood hairs” that’s grow there, you know the extremely thick hairs that have 5 or 6 in one follicle. No matter how much oil I use, my chin and neck are always so coarse and dry.
Try a deep condition 2x per month that may help a lot👊🏾
Bearded Existence I caved in and shaved before reading this response lol
There is always next time!! Stay safe fam much success to you👊🏾
It's worth a try. My beard has the brillo pad texture.
BlaqMambaX welcome to the club lol!! The right routines will soften it up!! I used to think that was just the way my beard was supposed to feel until I started to change my process!!👊🏾
Great review brother that may just fix my curly course beard
Caleb Lapish let me know if it works 👊🏾
Bearded Existence thanks bro. I’ll keep experimenting and continue to check out your videos. Much peace ✊🏾
Peace my brother that was helpful because I have that problem with Breakage in my beard
Thanks for the feedback bro and for checking out the video👊🏾
Good advice but I will never use emu oil. Emus do not need to die for my beard.
