Cargo Hauling getting started guide: ua-cam.com/video/fOIeOlEYD0s/v-deo.html
In the C1 you use the ship tractor beam to stuff it full, because you don't need to get out before you drop the cargo off anyway.
Also I’m pretty sure the Freelancers rear manned turret is inaccessible when the cargo area is completely full, making the turret useless.
You can reach it. Sadly that turret hinders room for additional cargo grid space.
They should make it remote
Imho: C1 is better hauler, Cutty is better daily driver, but overall this is a close competition, and thats very good. We need more variety, more choices in the verse.
The Cutty GUZZLES hydrogen fuel, which immediately makes it less attractive, sadly.
@@LeftJoystick Yes. Hydrogen consumption is a biggest downside of Cutty. I wish one day we get explorer variant with radar, toilet, and bigger fuel tank, something like cutter rambler but Cutlass.
@@qutatron Definitely. An exploration Cutlass would be awesome!
C1 you can lock the door and use the tractor beam. If someone comes on they have to work to get to you.
Huh i never thought about it. Will try it. Thx
Should honestly be able to tractor people with ship tractor beam, imagine just grabbing a pirate out of your cargo hold and yeeting them skyward at a fine velocity. Then again if you‘re carrying cargo, can always just smack em with a box.
Very good guide. I was just thinking what my next upgrade should be. Especially enjoyed your rant on the Freelancer. One thing you may have missed is the Freelancer has 3 size 2 shields vs the Cutty and C1's 1 size 2. It sorta makes up for the terrible speed but not sure if it's a worthy tradeoff.
What I did is I bought a c1 on the pledge store and used the tractor beam on it for cargo until I had money to buy a 19k max lift gun. It definitely helped me out. I wish they added the tractor beam back to the cutty black before I bought the c1. C1 is a very fast cargo hauler and is a great ship for that.
Great video.. coming from a Avenger Titan but want to step up to a medium ship. And this video was very helpful. I will have to look around a bit more, but i think i'll get me the C1; beside of the pretty look, the armor and weapon racks / kitchen / bath and beds makes it feel more real as you could live there whilst getting your job done. And isn't it that somewhere in the future there will be the need for bathing/cleaning? Well.. sold! ^^ -- The 'sympathy points from pirates' to the end got me cracking up. Thank you for this!
got the C1 when it was still in concept and finally got it last Nov 23'.. Its my favorite daily driver up to this date. Just the right size for my needs. I do cargo hauling mainly.
C1 is best, but to make it optimal you want a copilot to quickly use the tractor beam. Just line it up with the elevator and use the on board beam to move everything.
Hopefully, with a rework, the Freelancer will dump the middle cargo area and most likely get rid of the extra two seats to put something else in that area. To be honest, a rework extending the cargo area and deleting the two seats and two beds may just give it a 72 scu cargo capacity. The same rework for the Freelancer Max would allow it to go from 120 scu to maybe 130? One thing you didn't bring up (maybe I missed it) is what most people do not like about the Freelancer series is their tiny FOV front windshield. CIG has already hinted at changing that, giving the Freelancers a more Hull A windshield appearance. Oh, I forgot the other thing people hate about the Freelancer. It looks like a flying dilQUACKdo.
Rework sounds nice 👍
why are you not using any of the ship tractor beams
I wish the spirit had a larger ramp to fit an ursa. If it had the components l reversed to the other door in the middle of the ship that would make sence for a bigger ramp and when component repairs are needed the air lock is closer to the middle then at the end of the ship.
@@scotttracy6388 same issue as with zeus CL
You guys need to try the Hull-A. 64 SCUs, all external ... makes loading and unloading the ship a breeze. Also it's considered small size so it fits even in a small hangar.
Hull-A can carry 4 x 16 SCU boxes or 8 x 8 SCU etc ...
How does it fare with 2 or 1 SCU. Do they fit or not at all ? Also do you know how much Hull A costs as a rental ? Its not available in Port Tressler but maybe in Loreville ?
@@GrunfWorks It is fine with small boxes as well. Don't know the rental price. It is one of the cheapest cargo ships tho.
@@GrunfWorks Let me know if you want to try it - I can loan you mine (ingame name: InnocentBystandard)
I lost the spirit c1 from the asop terminal in 3.24.2. And now the ship is also not showing in Crusader Showroom. So I lost the ship and I cannot also buy another one. Wow thank you CIG. 😢😢
Yea, as you probably noticed, I have paused creating Star Citizen content for a week or 2 just till the 3.24.2 stabilizes a bit. It is just too buggy at the moment. Was it an in-game bought ship or a store ship ? I imagine it cant be a store ship, right ?
@@GrunfWorks yes it's a in game bought ship.
Can't wait to see the Zeus CL
good in depth analysis of some iconic star citizen ships in comparison to the new one under the latest conditions.
Thx. In retrospect I should add the Hull-A which given the simplicity of cargo on and off has surprised me a bit to be honest :-) There is always next video i guess.
Lol why not have both. Sometimes when I am bored I take this 2 to do ERT missions. It takes longer but with the adrenaline kick due to both ships being fragile makes it more fun.
Cutlass Black only ship you need does everything well. Even ERT bounties.
Prefer the Cutty black personally, except the tractor beam doesn't work.
Hopefully they will fix it soon
When did they change the freelancers pilot weapons to only turrets? That suck bawls.
Kinda wondering why the MSR, connie, and hull A were not on this list?
Hull A by omission, MSR and Connie are in higher tier imo. Together with freelancer max and the likes. They are 100+ and more expensive. I light be covering those later
@@GrunfWorks I've always considered the Connie to be in the same tier as the Freelancer, granted I did consider that to be a tier above the cutlass black.
I'm starting to see some grey areas here. Maybe we need to come together as a community and define what qualifications are needed for each tier. Especially, with the Zeus on the horizon.
good info, very dense. a+
edit: also made me laugh a few times
I like the looks of the c1, but those side doors on the cutty make it nicer to load. Thus the better hauler. Tractor beam though nice is not a dealbreaker for me. Personally i got the zeus mk2 with having a 2nd entrance seems to have good overloading capabilities but i will reconsidder when it finally gets released in 4.0 hope it turns out right.
What is the capacity of that one at least on paper ?
It has a lockable door.
Short story C1 wins until the new RSI ship comes out
U mean Zeus ? Isn’t it more competitor to MAX ? How much SCU should that one carry ?
@@GrunfWorksZeus MK2 will be a medium freighter, I believe it will be in the same category as these ones. Now I don't recall regular scu but the CL variant will have 128 SCU, which is very impressive.
I am going to be running in a Hull-A and a Hull-B when that is out.
I just hope they change the cargo loading system back to the old version.
This new one is not fun gameplay and i think it will only be fun the first few times.
After that, every serious hauler is going to use the automated loading option.
I am actually liking loading manually. Even bigger loads. Its quite chill. I would oike some trolleys though
@@GrunfWorks i love the manual loading. It's not changing back
While the freelancer needs love from CIG,… I would take it over a cutty any day
Really ? Care to elaborate, as I am really interested. It felt really bad to me, sadly, although I don't hate the design (MAX is pretty cool) but felt way to inferior to the rest of the bunch. So I am really curious :-)
@@GrunfWorks
Flown the Cutty many times, engines fall off, the pilot seat tries to kill you
Then for immersion, you can’t live on a Cutty, no shower, toilet or kitchen amenities.
hauler? C1 all the way.
Raft to stay afloat XD
no 32 scu at outposts
Right, i forgot
Controversial choice i like the hullA
I don't have it, but maybe will give it a try see how it feels
Its really slow when on a planet but i like how fast i unload and load it up, and i just like the hull series of ships, the look and the whole outside cargo grid thing
@@cutenekonep906 yea i tried to test it yesterday but it seems turning in cargo is a bit broken now
