I love this fanart for the traitors. It shows who keeps who in check. Reiner’s hand is over Annie’s mouth because he checks her loyalties, when she saves Connie’s life and hesitates to kill Marco. Bertholdt’s hand is over Reiner’s mouth once he starts to lose himself and starts to forget the mission. Bertholdt is the only warrior who did not slip up or hesitate for any of the “devils” on Paradise. His mouth is taped and eyes are closed because he’s the only one of the three who didn't make it back.
@@jasonblack2477 Untrue, Annie knew the truth all along. Marleys brain washing never affected her, you can tell by her dialogue after she beat Reiner, and this was before she even met people in the walls. Bertolt was the only one to stick to his duty to the end though so props for that ig

Obviously we know Annie didn't believe all of the Eldians were devils, but we have to remember she was of course more vocal than Bertholdt, which we know is to be expected because of their personality. Plus, we know he's not in it for Marley either. He and Annie both wanted wanted go back to their fathers. Plus,, overall I'm pretty sure that, aside from Reiner, all the other Warriors knew the truth, although they all viewed it differently. Porco knew the Island would be a threat (and he was right) as well but I guess we don't have much of his inner dialog to make that call 100% Reiner was the only one who truly bought into both sides 100%
@@jasonblack2477 I think he meant that Bertholdt kept his resolve and ultimately saw and understood it all in a way that the other 2 didn't until later. Annie was more self centered and didn't care much but was still helping the Scouts every now and then, and Reiner... was a mental mess. Bertholdt just kept to himself and didn't get involved with anything, then went from being more timid to more assertive of his mission. He was the one who really exemplifies what they as Warriors should be. Even if he felt a certain way, he still kept going and didn't bother trying to make connections unless necessary unlike Annie and Reiner. It's weird to think that he cared the most (in a sane manner, at least) but showed the least emotion towards the others. A perfect mental balance, which is part of the reason why he was given the Colossal in the first place. A far more complex character than given credit for
I feel like I'm one of the only people who's favorite character was Bertholdt even BEFORE the reveal in season 2, he literally had like 3 scenes before that. Still my favorite to this day, RIP homie
I fucked with him to and couldnt figure out why. In hindsight he was the most devoted. Never faultered. Crushed the wall and then trost perfectly. Then in shiganshina went out like a champ(till he started crying but hey what can you expect when you go out in a titans mouth)
@@yodav9120 I think what's so interesting about him is that he had the typical anime protagonist arc of gaining confidence, but was on the other side of the current good guys. Him and Reiner are incredible characters, even though Bertholdt was barely dived into. I'm hoping the anime makes some new scenes with him in the past, since rumors are there will be new content not seen in the manga. Maybe him interacting with his parents or something.
@@DiscoKing02 i really want to see him confiding in ANYBODY how he felt about taking out wall maria. We NEVER heard how he felt about it. He just did it and that was it.

But then he realizes the truth that hes not a soldier and went out crying because he was left alone, no one to aside him, not Annie, not Reiner, not his old man, and not his Paradis friends.
Also love the two following parts of the lyrics, completely encapsulating their feelings on the matter “Duty chains us, Our demons haunt us” where all three have severe PTSD or anger from their actions. As well as “should we just let it all fade, is it just time?” Which is about giving up their pasts and past memories and missions, living for themselves and abandoning marley.
I'll definitely do more AoT covers, not sure about Undertale as I'm pretty much finished with it. I might remake Battle Against a True Hero and Megalo Strike Back at some point, and maaaaybe do Hopes and Dreams. But we'll see. I'm not done with Deltarune either, so I'll do more of those as well.
