You know it's gonna be a great FOB song when they break out the strings and the brass section.
Any time that orchestra gets involved with rock or metal, it makes the song that much better.

true fucking story! that is a big reason why the phoenix and lftos are two of my favorite songs ever. and this is definitely in the top of best fall out boy songs. patrick made it sound like there would be more songs with strings on the album, though, so i have to admit i am disappointed that that is not really the case.

How on earth is this song not viral yet?!? This is giving me a Phantom of the Opera with Folie a Deux vibe, just absolute classic Fall Out Boy. Pure Art!!!!!
Because everything is about social media and no instruments. All music now is just made on a computer. There's no epic jam like this. The majority of attention spent on the money making platforms are the eyes of people under 30 who mindlessly doomscroll all day. If the music is too complicated (has too many different lyrics that don't repeat), they cannot pay attention, and they skip it, so the algorithms do the same and don't spread it, and every other platform, like radio follow suit. And not to be agist, I'm 42, and every generation has its thing. But, I've read studies by scientists about how music is dumbing down to suit the populous. (do a google search). If it's not the same 5 word badbunny style reggeaton in every song, those with the eyes on social media (thus the demographic for advertising), then they cannot handle it. Anyway, in 15 years those who are 20 now, will have their kids raging to random hearing test tones thinking it's the best thing ever, and making fun of their parents for what's the most popular today. But I agree, this is brand new certified fresh awesome music. Let's enjoy it, and let them miss out. Ps, I had this song blaring on my car speakers in a store parking lot and I swear a group of 15 year olds came and asked me what this song was and one kid has shazam open on his phone. They liked it. So, I think it's just about exposure. Let's see what happens to 30 Seconds to Mars this year.
@@jakehone ...I'm a teenager and I love this song. It's haunting in a way. I've been a fan of Fall Out Boy for a long time, for reasons beyond catchy tunes. I despise modern mumble-rap style "badbunny style reggeaton". And I don't make fun of my parents for their tastes.

Late to the party. I stopped listening to Fall Out Boy after Folie a Deux because the rest was their sellout era. I *just* discovered So Much For Starudst, a year later. This is my favorite song from the album, what a return to form. Old FOB with a dramatic, operatic sound and a little more polished production.
Is no one gonna comment on the banger art? It being a ref to Amadeus just makes the song even better. Love that this album is apparently cinema themed

Edit: Just wanted to add my feelings abt this song in particular bc I never really spoke on it. This song is just so cinematic, it gets my blood pumping and my head buzzing in the best way. Patrick really reinforcing the fact he can score a film and make masterpieces like this that belong in a movie soundtrack. So very in love with this song and Fall Out Boy :))

I couldn't have said it better!!! I was so excited to wake up this morning to the new album. It made my day and will probably make the next few years like they love to do. Its why they've lasted so long against all the other emo bands. They take time for themselves (and families) and they work equally and are paid equally. Not to mention they all have side gigs of their own. But when they come back together its like watching an awesome explosion 🌟

Best track on the album for sure! The chorus part where he sings "got to throw this year away, we got to throw this year away" is so reminiscent of Michael Jackson when he sang with rasp and power. The arrangement on this track is incredible, I absolutely love it!

This track goes HARD!! Loving the orchestral elements of some of the tracks on the new album. Fall Out Boy has been called back to save rock and roll from these Spotify generation kids with 2 min songs without proper song structure and composition.
