      @@JLFish I was tempted to write in Greek but I figured that it would be best to keep it in English and see if more people could benefit from the text!
      Here is the story so far. I bought a starter kit from Biltema that a rod, spool, weights hooks and some spinners. It literally did the job, I spent the first couple of hours learning how to cast the rod and most importantly how to not get frustrated when the line got tangled. I ended up cutting the line and restarting a couple of times but overall I am feeling pretty safe now on how I cast the rod without backlashes or tangles.
      I tried fishing near Silverdals lake close to Ulrichsdal slot and Frösundavik badplats. I used a hook with sweet corn as a bait. I got 0 bites in overall 15+casts and 8 hours of fishing. I am not sure why is that, I have narrowed it down to some factors but I don't have the knowledge to validate them.
      1. Noise from boats, people swimming nearby. 2. Bait not suitable. 3. Time (12:00-17:00) 4. Size of the hook. I am excited about this new hobby but I would be happy to be able to at least get some fishing acting going on.
      Any comments on the spots and factors I listed above would be much much appreciated!

      @@soonfamous You are absolutely right that noise from boats and time of day will affect your fishing. I would recommend fishing some smaller lakes. A good choice might be Långsjön. If you are looking for something north of stockholm then Edssjön and Rönningesjön are good choices.
      You mentioned sweet corn as your bait, this is a good bait for most fish however you wont get Pike on this. Also, I would recommend buying "Bottenmete" which means you are fishing closer to the bottom where you might find fish like Ruda, Karp and other bottom feeding fish.
      Generally early in the day or later in the evening are good times to fish. I would recommend fishing between 3-9am and 19-23pm.You mentioned sweet corn as your bait, this is a good bait for most fish however you wont get Pike on this. Also, I would recommend buying "Bottenmete" which means you are fishing closer to the bottom where you might find fish like Ruda, Karp and other bottom feeding fish.
      Another thing you can do is download the app "Fishbrain" (They are not a sponsor). This will show you good locations as well as places where people have caught fish before.
      Best of luck,
      Jannis

      @@JLFish Thank you for the fast and detailed response Jannis! I did add some weights to the line and a floater (just to be able to see where the relative position of my hook is and also be able to not let the hook sink and get possibly stuck)
      I will give the 2 lakes you suggested a visit for sure. Should I keep my hook and sweet corn bait going on or should I use a spinner that my kit came with?

      @JLFish  Рік тому +1

      @@soonfamous If you like to fish with a sinker, line and floater I suggest you keep doing that. You can catch a lot of Carp of around 10kgs in Långsjön.
      I only fish with a spinning rod and lures so my knowledge is in that area.

      @@JLFish jag hoppas att du åker dit snart så kommer bli spännande att se vad du får för fisk för just på Berghamns bryggan får man ingenting typ, det vart en stor gigantisk gädda som min polare missade men där har vi varit kanske 10 tillfällen och fått fisk på 2 så där skulle jag inte rekommendera.
      Ska vara intressant vart du fiskar :)
