Rodney Settle I disagree. It’s emotional because it graphically portrays what Jesus went through for not only the glory of Himself as God, but also for the saving of humanity. You see his passion and love towards humanity in the Flashbacks and also in his gruesome tortures.

Jesus Christ healed me! This is my story about my healing!I was extremely ill! I had diabetes and kidney failure, which urgently requires dialysis! I prayed to God to heal me, not for me, because I don't deserve it, but for my little children, who were left without a mother! in exactly that day, in which I prayed, the Lord healed me! This movie was the reason that I found myself and became happy. All my life, I thought Jesus's suffering was no big deal and it was exagerrated. I refused to read the bible, I refused to pray. I believed that God existed from the beginning but I refused to make a connection with him. I became addicted to so many things that would spoil my life. I got a lot of downfalls in my life and went into depression. A voice kept saying, this is all God's fault. And I believed the voice and I blamed all my sufferings on God. Good Friday came and my family wanted to see this movie. I just went along with them and decided to see it with them. And this movie opened my eyes. The pain and blood shown in the movie does not come close to even 1/100 th of what Jesus actually went through and that gave me more repentance. Every scene with his mother was heartbreaking as well. The way mother Mary silently suffered when she saw her baby boy being abused. All of them brought tears to my eyes and I was a heartless person back then. Then I remembered Jesus had went through all of this pain for me and I, an ungrateful, horrible and heartless sinner had rewarded him by blaming him for all the downfalls of my life. Since that day, I repented and now I'm a faithful Christian who loves God more than anything and anyone. I'm no longer addicted to the stuffs that brought me down and I'm very addicted to Jesus. The best decision that I've ever made is to repent and come back to Jesus. I've been so happy ever since then. I've seen a lot of people say that God is to blame for every mishap that happens in their life, I was one of them. All I'm going to say is God gives you your freedom. God says ask and you shall receive, knock and the door shall be opened to you. How could you blame God for all your sadnesses when you haven't even asked him to help you? Do you think Satan loves you? No, he doesn't. He is the one who is always bringing every bit of sadness to you and making you blame God for it. He's the voice in your head that you shouldn't listen to. He hates you, he hates everyone of us. Why would you think that anyone can love you more than the heavenly father who created you? No one, not even the mother who gave birth to you can love you as much as God loves you. Speak to God, he's the best therapist. Connect with God and you'll be so happy. On earth and in heaven.

No matter how much one worships him and does evil on purpose thinking they do something good for the devil and get some sort of reward later. they will and end up in hell and get to feel the hatred and force of the devil and his angels. Because they hate humans because they are made in the image of god.
Watching the absolute cruelty that Jesus had to endure made me cry uncontrollably for a few minutes. I was not religious before watching this movie, but I envied those that had a connection to God. I saw that they were happy, calm and devoted. I decided not long ago that I wanted a connection to God, and that if I want to understand more about him, I needed to understand how he sacrificed his only son for us. Since watching this, I have began reading the Bible, and it is having a profound effect on me, and this is coming from a guy who has always been a fierce critic of religion. A little faith and prayer never hurt anyone, and I think with how uncertain the world is now, we should take our chance to reconnect with God.

I've watched this movie when it came out, and I can still remember crying my eyes out, it affected me so deeply that I couldn't stop crying even after the movie was over, especially knowing that what Jesus went through was way worse than in this movie, so I tried my best not to watch it again, but today, more than ten years later, on a Good Friday, I watched it again, still crying my eyes out and with my heart full of love for our saviour Jesus Christ
I watch this movie every Good Friday, since it came out, and I’ve only made it through ONCE entirely without crying or looking away. It’s not because of the content, but because of how REALISTIC, BRUTAL and emotional it is.

Same, since my dad was a pastor, he screamed the movie at church, and I was 7 or 8 years old at that time. I was curious, but of course, watching the whipping scene was traumatic. But I loved the film very much at that age. Now that I’m 26, I understand why my dad cried when he watched it for the first time.
I am a 45 years old Müslim who lives in southern Turkey . This movie is my all time favorite. I get in very different mood any time I watch it. One of the most hitting scenes is that little rain drop hits the earth and earthquake happens. Last time I watch it, the night that massive earthquake sessions hit southern Turkey and Syria 6th of Feb. 2023. And my home was only few kms away from the epicenter. The worst day of my life. But God decided to save me and my family and gave us second chance. Since that night I have different thoughts about that movie and prophet Jesus.

Mel Gibson deserves enormous respect, gratitude and admiration because his reconstruction of the Passion of Jesus is much more effective, intense, educational than any other.It's imprinted deeply in the soul, it arouses great emotion strengthening faith in the Savior. Zeffirelli's film, much less effective and expressive, disfigures by comparison.

I don't see how a man can cleanse me from the evils I have done unto others. That is unreasonable and irresponsible notion that we celebrate. Be it man, prophet, demi-god or God himself. I don't care what you call him. People should be held accountable of their actions. No evil should be forgotten, let alone forgiven on the basis of Jesus' sacrifice. No thief, no murderer, no traitor should be forgiven and his blame cast away. That Jesus person wasn't sacrificed for your sins. He wasn't even sacrificed. He was sentenced to death by crucifiction by no other than the prefect of Judaea on the basis of treachery to the Emperor and Rome. He claimed to be the King of kings, but not of this plain, he preached. Nonetheless, that had to be an insult of grand proportions to the emperor of Rome, and as such he had to be punished adequately. Jesus wasn't the threat, but the people of Judaea certainly were. Indication of that fact are the rebellions that followed against the Roman empire not long after Jesus' death. In conclusion, I just find it petty that anyone should claim that Jesus took away his blame or contribution to an act that is morally impermissible.

So you should see that this faith and belief in Jesus enables us to lead a good life, with hope of redemption for sinners. Applying your logic, a sinner will always remain a sinner, as he has no chance of redemption anyway. He will only bury himself deeper into sin. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, and we believe in Jesus Christ. I know it will be difficult to comprehend for people who always try to find answers through logic and their own little knowledge. You have your ways and beliefs, and we have ours. I watched this movie for the first time last night and I haven’t been able to get it off my mind. It was such an awfully emotional experience that made me cry. I will say though, it was pretty cool how I understood Aramaic. A lot of it is similar to Arabic, which is my first language. If I time travelled all the way back to 3000 years ago, I’d be able to communicate people or, perhaps, Jesus himself? That’s pretty wild. Wow, I just envisioned that. Gave me chills, ha. I’m not a particularly religious person, but learning about Jesus Christ is wonderful. I’d be honored to be in his presence.
I am a Christian and I believe in Jesus and I watched this for the first time and it is amazing and so emotional for me at least and to think what Jesus went through with all the beating he took when he died on the cross for our sins and it looks very painful.
What a beautiful sacrifice that Jesus Christ did for all of us when he is so lovable and kind. There is no love like that in this generation. Jesus Christ died for my sins, and for yours. Even if you’re an atheist or agnostic, Story of Jesus tells us that the greatest tragedy of mankind. Imagine happened to him. Betrayed by your friend, denied by your right hand men. Betrayed by people you care so much.. Accused by the crime you didn’t make. Tortured for being innocent, Crucified, take note crucifixion is the worst way to die because it’s coming to you slowly. It’s a slow death gasping for air. All of those sufferings but he choose love. Damn I feel so blessed that the struggles I have is just an ounce what he suffered.

This is the only movie that after watching it the first time I can never watch it again. Seeing Jesus suffer for someone like me who doesn't deserve anything from someone like him just pains me so much especially the scourging at the pillar scene. I'll admit that I am sadistic and violent but even I know when to draw the line.
I've heard people complain that this is an awful move, to violent or they didn't enjoy it. I don't think it's a movie meant to be enjoyed it's a movie to be experienced. It's a movie about the murdering of God's son plain and simple. 2000 years later humanity is worse than ever. I remember watching it in theaters in 2004 and it's the only time I ever came out of a movie theater and I could not talk. I didn't want to be spoken to for about a half hour I had to absorb what I had just seen. The world is falling apart because people don't believe in God not because God turned his back on people.

This is one of the few movies one can appreciate on both a spiritual and secular level. Mel Gibson is an artist and conveyed the story of Christ in such a unique way. Most other Christian films are riddled with dad jokes and cliches, or are overly reliant on the viewer believing in God to substitute for poor writing. The Passion of the Christ legitimately CONVERTED people and I think its because it is so real. Something you can appreciate whether you believe in Jesus or not. Of course the film ascends a whole new level if you do follow Christ but its universality is something rare in Christian/Catholic cinema.

This movie was the reason that I found myself and became happy. All my life, I thought Jesus's suffering was no big deal and it was exagerrated. I refused to read the bible, I refused to pray. I believed that God existed from the beginning but I refused to make a connection with him. I became addicted to so many things that would spoil my life. I got a lot of downfalls in my life and went into depression. A voice kept saying, this is all God's fault. And I believed the voice and I blamed all my sufferings on God.
Good Friday came and my family wanted to see this movie. I just went along with them and decided to see it with them. And this movie opened my eyes. The pain and blood shown in the movie does not come close to even 1/100 th of what Jesus actually went through and that gave me more repentance. Every scene with his mother was heartbreaking as well. The way mother Mary silently suffered when she saw her baby boy being abused. All of them brought tears to my eyes and I was a heartless person back then. Then I remembered Jesus had went through all of this pain for me and I, an ungrateful, horrible and heartless sinner had rewarded him by blaming him for all the downfalls of my life.
Since that day, I repented and now I'm a faithful Christian who loves God more than anything and anyone. I'm no longer addicted to the stuffs that brought me down and I'm very addicted to Jesus. The best decision that I've ever made is to repent and come back to Jesus. I've been so happy ever since then.
I've seen a lot of people say that God is to blame for every mishap that happens in their life, I was one of them. All I'm going to say is God gives you your freedom. God says ask and you shall receive, knock and the door shall be opened to you. How could you blame God for all your sadnesses when you haven't even asked him to help you?
Do you think Satan loves you? No, he doesn't. He is the one who is always bringing every bit of sadness to you and making you blame God for it. He's the voice in your head that you shouldn't listen to. He hates you, he hates everyone of us. Why would you think that anyone can love you more than the heavenly father who created you? No one, not even the mother who gave birth to you can love you as much as God loves you. Speak to God, he's the best therapist. Connect with God and you'll be so happy. On earth and in heaven.

Watching the absolute cruelty that Jesus had to endure made me cry uncontrollably for a few minutes. I was not religious before watching this movie, but I envied those that had a connection to God. I saw that they were happy, calm and devoted. I decided not long ago that I wanted a connection to God, and that if I want to understand more about him, I needed to understand how he sacrificed his only son for us. Since watching this, I have began reading the Bible, and it is having a profound effect on me, and this is coming from a guy who has always been a fierce critic of religion. A little faith and prayer never hurt anyone, and I think with how uncertain the world is now, we should take our chance to reconnect with God.

One of the most hitting scenes is that little rain drop hits the earth and earthquake happens. Last time I watch it, the night that massive earthquake sessions hit southern Turkey and Syria 6th of Feb. 2023. And my home was only few kms away from the epicenter. The worst day of my life. But God decided to save me and my family and gave us second chance. Since that night I have different thoughts about that movie and prophet Jesus.

No thief, no murderer, no traitor should be forgiven and his blame cast away. That Jesus person wasn't sacrificed for your sins. He wasn't even sacrificed. He was sentenced to death by crucifiction by no other than the prefect of Judaea on the basis of treachery to the Emperor and Rome. He claimed to be the King of kings, but not of this plain, he preached. Nonetheless, that had to be an insult of grand proportions to the emperor of Rome, and as such he had to be punished adequately. Jesus wasn't the threat, but the people of Judaea certainly were. Indication of that fact are the rebellions that followed against the Roman empire not long after Jesus' death. In conclusion, I just find it petty that anyone should claim that Jesus took away his blame or contribution to an act that is morally impermissible.

So you should see that this faith and belief in Jesus enables us to lead a good life, with hope of redemption for sinners. Applying your logic, a sinner will always remain a sinner, as he has no chance of redemption anyway. He will only bury himself deeper into sin. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, and we believe in Jesus Christ. I know it will be difficult to comprehend for people who always try to find answers through logic and their own little knowledge. You have your ways and beliefs, and we have ours. What is more important at the end of the day is whether our ways and beliefs make us love our neighbor or hate him. That, my friend, was the whole point of my post above.

I watched this movie for the first time last night and I haven’t been able to get it off my mind. It was such an awfully emotional experience that made me cry. I will say though, it was pretty cool how I understood Aramaic. A lot of it is similar to Arabic, which is my first language. If I time travelled all the way back to 3000 years ago, I’d be able to communicate people or, perhaps, Jesus himself? That’s pretty wild. Wow, I just envisioned that. Gave me chills, ha. I’m not a particularly religious person, but learning about Jesus Christ is wonderful. I’d be honored to be in his presence.

Good Friday is here! And we're watching The Passion of the Christ.
This is the only movie that after watching it the first time I can never watch it again. Seeing Jesus suffer for someone like me who doesn't deserve anything from someone like him just pains me so much especially the scourging at the pillar scene. I'll admit that I am sadistic and violent but even I know when to draw the line.
I've heard people complain that this is an awful move, to violent or they didn't enjoy it.
I don't think it's a movie meant to be enjoyed it's a movie to be experienced.
It's a movie about the murdering of God's son plain and simple.
2000 years later humanity is worse than ever.
I remember watching it in theaters in 2004 and it's the only time I ever came out of a movie theater and I could not talk.
I didn't want to be spoken to for about a half hour I had to absorb what I had just seen.
The world is falling apart because people don't believe in God not because God turned his back on people.

This is one of the few movies one can appreciate on both a spiritual and secular level. Mel Gibson is an artist and conveyed the story of Christ in such a unique way. Most other Christian films are riddled with dad jokes and cliches, or are overly reliant on the viewer believing in God to substitute for poor writing.
The Passion of the Christ legitimately CONVERTED people and I think its because it is so real. Something you can appreciate whether you believe in Jesus or not. Of course the film ascends a whole new level if you do follow Christ but its universality is something rare in Christian/Catholic cinema.
