This will be our 8th year homeschooling and we love it!
You did such a great job setting everything up for the boys homeschool area… I’m proud of you for sharing this with us, and for you choosing to homeschool your boys, it’s definitely for the best with how the traditional school systems are heading!… You will have great days and hard ones but it’s going to be well worth it, your boys will be able to look back at this time in their little lives and appreciate the intimacy of being home while learning and the added bonus is mom is the teacher… You got this Katie!

😊 Did it for many years, until graduation. Seems like a lifetime ago. Our journey began when it was illegal in many states. I've never regretted homeschooling for a moment. You and your sons will make memories that will last a lifetime. I lost my oldest son to COVID and I cherish those long ago memories more than I can tell you. Hey, I’m a homeschooling momma too! This is my 3rd year with it. I have a 3rd grader and 1sr grader. We use ABEKA. You’ve got this!!! It gets easier every year once you find a routine that works for you and your children.

I recommend teaching the subjects you can instead of doing all online, it’s SO much fun to read to your kids and to be able to teach them something new. Obviously you do what’s best for your family, just trying to help 😊

I was homeschooled all my school years. And I'm now homeschooling my kiddos ❤
Just remember, it's not public school at home. A school space is awesome, but don't be surprised if the kids end up at the dining table or living room or something eventually 😆

I love how your dad passed you those books I grew up with encyclopedias and still have them because my parents have bought them and it was before the internet.
I like where the clock is. You did such an amazing transformation on the butcher block desk top. Honestly everything looks amazing. I’m excited for you to start this new journey. Just remember if you ever start getting frustrated, you don’t have to homeschool to anyone else’s standards but your own. Having a great relationship with your kids is the best part of homeschooling.

We homeschooled our Daughter until high school. My advise, don’t overthink it. You are already teaching your children so much as a parent.

I've homeschooled both my boys for 4 years now. I definitely don't regret it! There are days where it's super hard and I wonder what in the world I'm doing. In the end it's well worth it. I love the family time it brings and the flexibility and honestly it's easier for them to learn I feel. You can cater to each child's learning style. Just hold on tight and if you come across a really hard day, know it doesn't last. Also, don't be scared to change up curriculum whenever you feel necessary. I started with one kind and then eventually used different brand curriculums for each subject. Feel free to reach out if you need support or have questions! I'm also on Instagram following you.

This space turned out amazing!! I’m starting my third year of home schooling. It’s definitely been a learning curve for us all but we’re slowly finding our groove. Definitely look into California state laws about home schooling. Tracking things isn’t important for my state until high school so don’t take on more then you have to your first year!!

I grew up homeschooling, and starting homeschooling my son this year (preschool). I would definitely look to see if there are anyhomeschool co-ops near you. They typically meet once a week or everyother week and can be a great place to find friends 😊

I homeschooled my 2, now homeschooling my grandkids. Nothing to be nervous about, it’s not hard. My two got science degrees and I didn’t even graduate high school. 😅
We have already completed our first year of homeschooling and just started our second year! We’ve been loving it!

I'm going into my 4th year homeschooling. I'll never go back.
In my state, they give us the subjects to cover, but we can choose our own curriculum. My kids are 14, 7, and 5.
My 14 yr old is in her first year of HS, so I am excited and nervous about it.
Curriculum I'm using for her is eclectic:

I had a wonderful education. When i went to college I was actually disappointed by how easy my courses were. Haha. So just wanted ro encourage you that you are more than capable! 😊

We have 3 children 30 & 27 and 22. Our daughter is the eldest our 2 sons went from Charter school and then graduated from a public school. ( Our youngest did some home schooling for a while when he was younger Connections Academy) neither school that our sons attended didn't teach them cursive handwriting, we had to show and teach them how. And we're so glad that we did now these day's everything is required that you sign and less print. Our grand daughter will be going to 1st grand and although she has a while she too will be taught how to sign. So Katie I applauded you and hope all goes well you got this.!!😊

This will be our second year, we love it so much! It definitely has its hard days but its so so worth it. Being able to watch your kids grow every day is the best. When you look back and see how far they've come and realize you didn't have to miss a second of that, honestly so rewarding.

We homeschool, and you'll get into your groove. What works for me won't necessarily work for you and your family, and vice-versa. We homeschooled for 2 years. This mom needs a break for the first time ever. I'm sending my oldest to first grade at public school. 😅 but probably/hopefully only for a year. But I'm at capacity with a full-time out of the home job and homeschooling 2 kids. Anyway. You can do it. I blew myself out of the water, teaching my oldest how to read.
I agree! You have to do what’s best for you! I felt like I was comfortable with my kids I’m elementary school. Now that I have one going into middle school, it was time to bring them home. You’ve got this mama!

😊 I think the homeschool room came out great. I think the clock works where it is. I would get centering it if all three walls had a photo but I think it works being over that mail organizer. It’s like that part of the wall works as a separate entity to the rest of the wall. If that makes sense. Good luck with homeschooling. You will figure out what works for you. I changed the way I homeschool multiple times. My son is in his senior yr. He also does dual enrollment. My favorite curriculum is EIW for English and Teaching textbooks for math. 😁❤

We homeschool! The best advice I can give you is don’t try to do everything everyday, or even this year. It’s hard to do the core subjects, science, history, art, music, and all the different studies you can do, on top of trying to do Co-Op, field trips, and life. Enjoy this first year, don’t stress, and know you can do this! 😁
What made you decide to homeschool? We have homeschooled up until this year and we've decided to give public school a try so I'm interested in someone going the opposite as us.
Also, what curriculum are you using?
What grades will your boys be in?
Does your state have pretty strict records you have to keep and turn in or are they fairly lax?
What schedule are you planning to us or will you be more flex in when the kids are going to do school? Something I LOVE about homeschooling is how you can literally learn anywhere and at any time.
