The man is simply great. I have had tension in my thoracic spine, shoulder blades and neck area for years and within a few minutes this exercise released all of my tension. I will incorporate the exercise into everyday life and report back afterwards. greetings from Germany
It definitely made a difference but it wasn't my only deficit. Thanks to Conor's videos it's getting better and better. I'm now at about 70% improvement in my tension. This video also helped me a lot: ua-cam.com/users/shortsbeB2 -JffLDI?si=owPCIBbWvcr4Lvvk
oh my god, i just commented on a video i watched of yours, and again, this instantly helped me! Just you saying "stack the head over the ribs over the pelvis" made me adjust and instant relief! wow
You can! I've had it for years and thought I couldn't do anything about it. Got some deep massages (painful af) to loosen the tight back and paid for 4-5 Physical therapist (same guy that massaged my back) sessions to get exercises that help. In a month I'm seeing changes, but you have to be super dedicated, stretching almost all day
trying this one asap. i love how easy this is to do and your explanation just makes sense. would love to see more content targeted for this type of posture!
I can't lie flat without pain, especially in the lower back and some in the midback. After a lot of coaxing I can usually get basically flat but the muscle are extremely tense, often spasm, and I can't hold it for too long. Got a video for that? :(
Do some side planks both sides for awhile with some Y raises. (Bring your top leg straight up a few inches) then lay on your back and see if the pains gone
@@noriakikakyoin4430 he wasnt trying to do that he showed and did that so u will straighten ur spine and it was only on the ground not on everyday activities
The dance company kinsiologist at KU showed me a similar technique for correcting my hyper- extended lower back. That was in 1979. The good stuff sticks around.
Why not just do a hamstring bridge (without arching the lower back)? The inner hamstrings and glutes posteriorly rotate the pelvis thereby flattening the spine and maintaining all points of contact on the floor.
@@whatsup7535funny how 14 others liked his comment and (at the time of of me reading your filth comment) you have ZERO FUCKING LIKES. Quit living in the stone-age, gramps, geez👴
This video looks garbage. Of course you have to stand straight, sit straight... Doing this shit is impractical as shit. You are not correcting your posture lying 10 minutes a day on the floor
So wait, are you supposed to crawl around the floor while laying on your back to have perfect posture? How does this translate into standing up and walking with perfect posture?
Standing straight is never wrong, why spout all the bs of making it worse ? Lack of posture is lack of muscles to support the given posture these people need to if not work out then sit straight and stand straight as much as possible to wake their muscles back up.
I don't see how this helps. I lie on the floor, tuck in my chin, deep breath, etc. I feel the same. Nothing has changed. And as far as forcing yourself to have good posture "make it worse" - I don't see how that make it worse. That engages the muscles used for posture. How does that make it worse? What're this guy's credentials?
I'm not a health expert, and definitely not Connor or a member of his team. But many positions similar to this allow for modifications, most often with a block or pillow, for additional support in areas that need it. Could be worth starting with a pillow under the back of the head; repetitions of this exercise over time may slowly allow for smaller blocks/pillows, and eventually removing it entirely once your head can reach the floor. Connor and other professionals could confirm or give better recommendations, but this is what I would recommend based on what I've seen. Hopefully this helps!

I taught yoga for years and saw SO many students, myself included, with severe structural issues from “pulling the shoulders back”.
Like what?
Yeah because you don’t actually pull your shoulders back. You need to get your shoulder blades in place by keeping them back and down. Slightly.
You just gonna jam the brachial plexus
I immediately share your videos with my family when they show up on my feed. Thank you for the tips and wish you great success!😊
Thank you.

I dont get what this does, is it training to breathe a certain way when standing up right?
No it's so u have better posture
Mouth breathing obliterates your posture, jawline, nose and teeth.
@@noriakikakyoin4430 he wasnt trying to do that he showed and did that so u will straighten ur spine and it was only on the ground not on everyday activities

That posture comes from doing pushups btw that's why it is important to stretch effectively.
Is the head not stacked over the ribs and pelvis already?
What does all that have to do with posture? Feels like the end of the video is missing.

Look into the Alexander technique.
A simpler way is to stand perpendicular to the mirror and try to remember what muscles you used to fix your posture.
