We need to do simulated CAT II and sometimes even CAT III autoland for maintenance requirements to keep the aircraft certified. This has to be done at specific intervals.
Autolands also need training, it is common to do it in good from time to time to refresh the procedures.... And it is no CATIII landing, they disconnected AP at around 80ft.
Sooo pathetic to turn off the autopilot at the very last seconds before touchdown. Seriously, I´ve always thought it requires special skills to fly an airliner but sometimes I wonder if it´s the complete contrary.
We need to do simulated CAT II and sometimes even CAT III autoland for maintenance requirements to keep the aircraft certified. This has to be done once every month or so, I believe. That's not what is normally regularly done. Take a breather, landing is not the special skill we need, by the way.
why did the pilot turn off the autopilot just before touching down? Isn't that something you would do way earlier(at around 1000ft RA)?
This was a CATII approach, wich means pilot should disconnect the autopilot 80 feet about airport elevation, this is company rules.
Nice landing 👍 👍
That is true, all we need is aviation i am also à fan of airplanes
Nice landing Captain
Good job!
the autopilot got disangaged pretty late. why?
Because it was a CAT 2 dual simulated landing, you have to disconect autopilot over 80 feets, it is company police.
@@allweneedisaviation4831 It's because of high altitude airport?
@@allweneedisaviation4831you always have to do auto lands? Or can you olso land Manuel
@@jurrienmeins1188 here in Colombia always you have to land manually, because the airports here don´t have enough facilities for fully autoland
@@M.I.G.U.E.L_22 no, it was by company requirement, it is done periodically to avoid losing aircraft capabilities (validity).
Is it Viva SOP to fly on AP until 80ft RA?
I am surprised, 80 ft to turn off AP.
CAT II you could disconnect the ap until 80ft if u have the Runway in sight and u ll Land manually
Why so late, AP disconnect!?
Was that a bird at 04:00? Nice video, thanks for sharing.
Are we into a "jumbo" ? 747 ?
Airbus A320
capture altitude is amazing
Is that a bird?
yes, it pased near
Good procedure policies by your company that turn off autopilot at 80. Good job, use that technology dont fly manual again
very good
Late AP disconnect. Otherwise, nice scenery.
I fly a Cessna 310 there is nothing more thrilling than hand flying. Autopilot is not so good
SURE! IS AMAZING
wow.. that autopilot did everything.
That was an instrument landing almost to the very end.
100 above!
lmao disconnects autopilot at 50 feet in total vfr
Sure disconnected the auto pilot late.

Autolanding CATIII in clear weather?
Autolands also need training, it is common to do it in good from time to time to refresh the procedures.... And it is no CATIII landing, they disconnected AP at around 80ft.
This is a CATII landing isnt CATIII
mdr le pilote ne voulait vraiment pas piloter ahah
That was an auto land
Isnt was an autoland because the pilot disconnect the autopilot 80 feet about airfield elevation
😁🎶👏👏

I bet even an ape could fly that plane^^
A pilot In the movie Lost in Space once said "Even a monkey can flip a switch" talking about how automated the spaceship is

Looks like it was a practice CATII mate
