    It would be interesting if you did an analysis on old FTP 6max/HU games with guys like Krantz/ Dang bros etc and see how those lines differ from solvers. End-bosses from 10-15 years must have played much differently than current nosebleed players

    Just a small correction: The checking/betting range on the flop has nothing to do with straddle but with raise size preflop. If in no-straddle game you increase the raise size to 5.3x then bb would raise much less. It is also opposite in a straddle game if you decrease the raise size. That means that if Xuan raises to 3.2 x from that position then the ranges post-flop would be different.
    Anyways, rangeconverter ranges for straddle games with antes are dead-wrong with the wrong raise sizes and should not be used. It is better to use MTT ranges.

    Great analysis. But wish there were discussion of balancing the value bet with bluffs on turn & river. Can't be case that only analytical decision is "titrate down from big size"; without consideration of appropriate mix of bluffs at *any* size, opponent will exploitively fold to any bet size.

    Hey man, i love your videos and i think they are very informative. One bit of constructive criticism I want to make is about the production: whenever you speak there seems to be a loud hum, so I would suggest (as dumb as it sounds) recording under a thick blanket, which provides great audio isolation. Also, keep an eye on volume discrepancy between your speaking voice and the streams. Keep it up man, I love your videos and I hope you keep growing!

    The bet size analysis is focusing on the AT or Ax value range and did not mention the bluff range. So curious if on a board, our value range is strong, we also need to size up our bluff to stay balanced?

    • @FindingEquilibrium
      @FindingEquilibrium  4 роки тому

      Bluffs should always mirror the value (in terms of sizing, not necessarily number of combos).

  • @davideganz8955

    why the solver folds majority(specially low kicker ones) of qx full house combos at theriver on treuteller hypothetically shove ? since the kicker is not influent because of the full house ? nice channel from italy :)

    • @haugi357
      @haugi357 4 роки тому +6

      Davide Ganz i can think of two possible reasons:
      1. Trueteller is more likely to value bet an ace with a higher kicker on the flop and turn so therefore when we do call a queen the 2 blocker is probably totally irrelevant whereas a T or J gives us a tiny extra percentage blocking AJ or AT etc.
      2. we simply can’t call all the Qx as we’d be overcalling that way. To balance that range we need to fold some amount of Qx and since there’s not much of a difference anyway we just take a linear approach in balancing and call the „better“ ones and fold the „worse“ ones. Basically just to keep control of the amount of combos

    • @FindingEquilibrium
      @FindingEquilibrium  4 роки тому +8

      When the decision is close sometimes you will see solver behavior that is almost inexplicable. Sometimes it is a function of some meta-blocking strategy the solver is using but it could also be because the solution is not solved all the way down the equilibrium. My personal view is that if the EV of two actions is pretty close, I try not to go too far down a rabbit hole to figure out what the solver is doing because the reality is, it may not be correct, and also, we don't know our opponent's exact ranges or strategies. Instead I try to focus my time on decisions that result in larger EV differences.

    10:40 - Wouldn’t necessarily agree that IP will value bet Qx when checked to and then also call a raise..
    when trueteller checks river imo he has clear give up or traps I really don’t see what hand he is going to call with that is worse than a queen if he checks so imo value betting from IP is too thin as what do we get called by apart from some occasional KT/KJdd heros

  • @bruwar
    @bruwar 4 роки тому +1

    When it comes to bluff catching on the river, why does the solver rather NOT have the Kd if the OOP is not barreling the Kd anyway? If the Kd is not a good bluff, doesn't that mean that the IP player should be MORE likely to bluff catch with a Kd (since it does not block OOP player's bluffs)???

    • @fufug1
      @fufug1 4 роки тому

      think its because in the video hes evaluating the ip response to the pot sizing which is obv different to the actual valuebet sizing which shpuld be used in the solution which is the 2x pot which will contain the polarized region of the ax and bluffs. would have to remove 2x sizing so the pot sizing contains that actual value/bluff region or nodelock it to simulate it but think if done so kd should be a card to have for the reasons you said above.

      @@FindingEquilibrium In the real word (where not everyone is playing GTO and calling correctly) this bet folds out a high percentage of all hands on this board with a 150% pot bet, but would keep in a larger percentage with a much wider range with a smaller bet. I would think the +EV play would be to bet smaller or check. With a smaller bet hoping your opponent will call with a wider range. On a check hoping your opponent takes a shot at a bluff, or improves on the river such that he might call another bet. In other words, in the real world, I personally like a check or a small bet here. With A10 the solver overwhelmingly preferred a large bet over a check. I just don't find people are calling such bets as wide as the solver suggests they should.

    Hey mate! I love your channel, it gives a lot of insights about how the game theory works.
    I think that there must be something wrong in the solution.
    Againts the river barrel, the player on the straddle is just calling sometimes with quads. Why do you think is that?

    • @FindingEquilibrium
      @FindingEquilibrium  4 роки тому +4

      Likely an error with the solver since it doesn't solve all the way to the equilibrium.

      Finding Equilibrium Thank you for your answer. Understood. I personally think Tony G called because of two main reasons (the second one is slightly related to GTO): 1. He just has a huge experience in such live cash spots (notice how concentrated Tony G was when scanned Mikita on river while young Belorussian made a decision) and 2. Mikita had not enough appropriate value hands to make such a move on river. Tony G has enough skills to understand it.
