To be fair to Rolex, they kindly removed some of the gold at the back of the case to help us all out. They’ve reduced the price accordingly to just over fifty grand, so…
It appears that ROLEX is pushing their watches out of the $10-25k range, and forcing us to pay more, or move their customer base to a more "exclusive" level. I'm not sure what sales volumes look like by line, but this feels like. We're going to make fewer watches and charge more for the ones we make.
At this point, maybe we should be looking out to buy an AP or Vacheron if they are making us pay this much for a Rolex or shift to Tudor or omega for the a lower price range. Personally a Rolex Submariner ref 14060m is my favourite watch. Sad they don't make those watches anymore.
Can you imagine how heavy this watch will be. It was already incredibly heavy in stainless steel. I always thought they would make this watch in Titanium not solid gold!
I think it's quite simple: Rolex wants to continue to increase its revenue, but until its new factories come online in several years, it can't physically manufacture more than the 1.2 million watches it sold last year. So the only way it can increase its revenue at the moment is by increasing the average cost of units sold--meaning, it can only grow its revenue by shifting more of their production to models with precious metals and gems.
Teddy and team, Appreciate the update on Rolex. Tudor's two new watches, the "Coke" GMT and Black Bay 41mm certainly caught my attention! Enjoy the exhibitions and safe journey back home.
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Agree. Teddy pls cover the out of catalog pcs. Plus how can I attain those pcs from ADs? Like I would love to get LeMan pc. I am disappointed of that being dropped. That was on my top of list with my AD. I love the emoji day date also
Deepsea is now a separate line to Seadweller. "Sea-Dweller" text has been removed from all Deepsea models. Bit of a big deal that everyone seems to have missed. So the 136660 now has two different dials. One is a Sea-Dweller, the other is now not.
More precious metals and diamonds means more profit margin for Rolex. One will have to buy a solid gold Deepsea and a platinum 1908 before being allowed to buy a steel GMT or Daytona.
I am kinda happy that this year we got no weird sh*t like the emoji Day Date and not many discontinued models. I don't capital-L-love any of the new models, but overall good W&W for Rolex IMO
The 1908 has so many amazing design elements like the conical crown and that dial is beautiful too. 39 for a dress watch with such a small bezel is ridiculously large though.
The Black/Grey GMT with the green GMT hand. Why was that hand not grey and the dial writing bit to complement the grey bezel. The green looks like old spares used up.
This is certainly the best GMT in the game right now at every price point. But I think you were right about them getting production under control. I think 2026 we could see a big rollout of stainless steel.
Rolex: I've never seen a good one at an authorized dealer (AD); they seem to be available only at the grey market. It feels like they sell their watches directly to the grey market. 😊
I agree, I think Rolex is revealing new models that might not be fans favorites to focus on cleaning the waiting lists; in the end if all the models are unattainable, this might damage the brand.
There’s no such thing as waiting lists. It’s a trick they use when they understand you’re not going to be a serious watch collector at the boutique or not going to buy jewelry / be a return customers of the whatever side business the ADs are in. They pick this up very easily from your first interactions based on the questions you ask and how you show up to them. So they politely ask you for “your list” to end the interaction. You may get lucky and visit on a week they don’t meet their quota and get offered a watch… consider yourself lucky if that’s the case. If you spit on the watch they offer you, then you’re simply never going to be a customer. That’s the truth. So… “cleaning up the waiting lists” is really not a thing. Waiting lists are cleaned up daily :).
Loved the day dates, and the 1908. Overall I was surprised with the release and love it. I'm super pro this direction! It seems like they are going after new markets and deepening the collectors collection.
So many cool watches … like the 1918 is epic… for this price … or the day dates … to be honest I even love the Daytona with diamonds … it gives you something only Patek or AP would give but much better quality … and yes quality comes in diamond quality … wearability etc … Rolex beats AP and Patek … those with no water resistance and flimsy movements don’t have a chance … just better products
In the post covid hype all the new money pips were sporting rolexes and the problem with that is the old money pips would stay away from the brand unless they can create a clear distinction in terms of offering. So Rolex is trying to create the country club.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the year I get my 36mm green OP. I’m personally happy it was a quiet year for Rolex. Less distractions so they can crank out some of their current models.
I own three different Rolex models, and I’m honestly cool with a lackluster Rolex release. We need to chill out, relax, and take a step back: not chase after the next amazing thing.
I never ever ever imagined Rolex would make a solid gold DeepSea. This watch was already incredibly heavy. I can't even imagine what it will weigh now. This will truly be a watch that you will need to wear in the water because it will be much to heavy to wear on land.
Unfortunately, Rolex has lost it's way. Generational change of ideas is not always prudent from such a solid historical company. They don't need to keep up with the Jones', because they ARE the Jones'. They need to realize that and not listen to hype.
Don’t get the Deepsea in gold. Seems not many buy the regular stainless steel one. Also, since Pepsi is still looking to be made will price go up or down from here. Thanks for the insight and enjoy the show. I wish I was there.
It will be interesting to see how the price of the Pepsi on the grey market performs. It has had a huge boost with the rumours of it being discontinued and so technically, there should be a pullback but who knows!
Thanks for details. Am not impressed with GMT. I am holding on to my Pepsi. Well they have planned to put more Gold line to make it difficult for middle class.
Heard the community already has a name for the GMT Master II black and Grey : The Wayne for Bruce Wayne's persona when not in costume. I really love how the community comes up with these watch names.😅
Nice Invicta Homage by Rolex, with the 1 Pound Gold Anchor.
To be fair to Rolex, they kindly removed some of the gold at the back of the case to help us all out. They’ve reduced the price accordingly to just over fifty grand, so…
The resemblance is uncanny 😯🙄🙄
You know it's sad when Invicta did it first. Although I will admit I sort of like some Invicta designs. But, I'm a heathen.
Lmao underrated comment
I feel the Pagani Ocean Gate Titan has a better heritage at this stage
Unfortunately nothing of interest released this year besides the 1908 which looks gorgeous.
It was less painful looking at the eclipse with no glasses than looking at that Daytona 😩
Absolutely!!! 😂😂😂
Spot on
I will never have one but I think the 1908’s are elegant & spectacular.
Agreed. And agreed.
I think you're elegant and spectacular.
My god those Daytonas are horrific 😂
Ghastly indeed
They wanna appeal to the rapper crowd and cut out the jewlers.
😂
what happen to your god?

HORRIFIC
this blue 1908 might be the first time I actually like a Rolex watch
Rolex had a meh release.
Tudor too.
@@INSANEFAME Yup. Just living off the name. I've lost the desire for them both. Time to wait 1 year to see if they do anything good
@@geno816 like what exactly
@@Driver_88 everything in totality
@@INSANEFAMEThe BB58 GMT is pretty nice, I thought.
Thanks for making these boring release sound interesting teddy 😂
Am I the only one who absolutely LOVES the black and gold day date?
Our man, Teddy. HANDSOME AS EVER !!!!
It appears that ROLEX is pushing their watches out of the $10-25k range, and forcing us to pay more, or move their customer base to a more "exclusive" level.
I'm not sure what sales volumes look like by line, but this feels like. We're going to make fewer watches and charge more for the ones we make.
Thats how you keep it "exclusive".
At this point, maybe we should be looking out to buy an AP or Vacheron if they are making us pay this much for a Rolex or shift to Tudor or omega for the a lower price range. Personally a Rolex Submariner ref 14060m is my favourite watch. Sad they don't make those watches anymore.
Same as Patek Philippe did when they stopped producing the steel Nautilus.
They didnt discontinue any of the low end watches
The 1908 looks great!
Everything went well for the 1908 till the price was released. 😂😂
It should be 15k but...
Who sat in the meeting and said 'looks great, let's do it' to that deep sea?
I like it despite its unusual nature.
That watch is going to sell like crazy . Trust me the guys in that meeting know the customers much better than you do .
Can you imagine how heavy this watch will be. It was already incredibly heavy in stainless steel. I always thought they would make this watch in Titanium not solid gold!
I love the watch but my last name is Cousteau.
Let us guess?
Sonny Crockett
Miami Vice!!! 💥💥💥
Freeze!
The gmt master ii is the pick of the bunch. Grey and black tones on the bezel is on point.
Too boring. And I already have a boring watch from them 😂.
What is the point of releases when they are not sold in the boutique but for exhibition only....?
Guess, i'll have to wait for Pagani Design to release a hommage to that black GMT-Master, hopefully with a Seiko NH35.
Seiko 5 already does it, their gmt line has the same color pallet, also the timex q gmt has a similar one
Seiko 5 gmt
Just buy a used model. They're not that old
@@glencassiano2658 palette, not pallet
What are they discontinuing?
Rolex telling us mortals to buy a Tutor.
Please could you review the new Tudor Watches Teddy,Thank You.....
Feels like the new releases are mainly high cost and high bling. Not sure if high style or high class though.
Man when that Deep sea bluesey blue comes out in two tone I’m buying.
That's exactly what I thought when I saw the new releases!
Man you guys are smart 🔍
Teddy and team, Appreciate the update on Rolex. Tudor's two new watches, the "Coke" GMT and Black Bay 41mm certainly caught my attention! Enjoy the exhibitions and safe journey back home.
All of then all beautiful.💯👍
Great run-down as always Teddy, but please wear a fitted suit jacket next time even if it wears a little tight. Cheers, mate.
HaHa! I noticed this too. He obviously didn't run this by his new wife. She never would have approved this.
I didn’t expect this comment in all honesty. But it made me chuckle a little.
Oh no fashion police 🤨
Hard disagree. Zag while others zig. Bring back the zoot suit.
The gray GMT seemed like an easy W and the 1908 was my surprise favorite.
What good are they if you can't find one at a dealer ANYWHERE?
What's the reference of the Rolex Cocktail Time? 😅
I went to a Rolex dealer this past weekend and tried on a sky-dweller for the first time. It was great. These new ones are even more stunning.
Thanks once again for getting pictures of these in the metal! Even if some are just an eye sore…. I fancy the more subdued GMT config.
Cheers!
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Dear Teddy, if possible please make a video on off catalogue pieces
Agree. Teddy pls cover the out of catalog pcs. Plus how can I attain those pcs from ADs? Like I would love to get LeMan pc. I am disappointed of that being dropped. That was on my top of list with my AD.
I love the emoji day date also

Rolex got the jacob and co versions 😂
It looks exactly like the 116710LN with that green 24-hour hand the only difference is they made the outline of the arrow green instead of white
The Rolex Diamond Daytona will make the perfect anniversary gift for your new bride Teddy!
I'm quite surprised by how full-on bling those daytonas are
More precious metals and diamonds means more profit margin for Rolex. One will have to buy a solid gold Deepsea and a platinum 1908 before being allowed to buy a steel GMT or Daytona.
No new titanium releases 😢
Exactly! The DeepSea was a missed opportunity. It should have been made in Titanium not solid gold!
@@sinjinadams2862 for sure. Or at least a Submariner.
You hit the nail on the head! The 1908 is stunning, but a lot to spend on a Rolex dress watch.
I am kinda happy that this year we got no weird sh*t like the emoji Day Date and not many discontinued models. I don't capital-L-love any of the new models, but overall good W&W for Rolex IMO
That 1908 is stunning. Good value too. Looks great on a leather or canvas strap. Wear to the boardroom or to the beach.
looks like an opportunity for ADs to actually build some inventory at their stores
Teddy. Excellent reel but you need a new modern suit and a new shirt and tie.
Suits too big. Shirt needs to be fitted or slim with at least 1/2" small collar. Wearing a suit on camera you should button then sit on the back edge.
Thanks Teddy! The stainless steel was the most attractive one.
Starting prices 😆🤣😂 Teddy, the entrepreneur AND UA-cam comedian 😆😂🤣
I’m going to purchase all of these models.
So damn glad I got what I wanted from the brand and out of my system… a decade ago.
This is certainly the best GMT in the game right now at every price point. But I think you were right about them getting production under control. I think 2026 we could see a big rollout of stainless steel.
That’s a good theory. Rolex wants to be known for more than just stainless steel sports models.
Did the Yacht Master II get discontinued? Not showing on the Rolex website in Europe 🎉🎉🎉
Yes, it seems that way 👍
Let’s hope so. It was the ugliest thing they have ever made
There's a gold version of the Lemans Daytona now. It's off catalog.
The 1908 is stunning!!
Rolex: I've never seen a good one at an authorized dealer (AD); they seem to be available only at the grey market. It feels like they sell their watches directly to the grey market. 😊

Hey teddy! Do i spy a Zenith chronomaster on your wrist?

Yellow gold with a titanium case back is the perfect combo .. said no one ever.
These new Daytonas are absolutely horrendous. 1908 with the guilloche dial is quite nice.

Black and a muted grey bezel is a weird choice. Think I like all black bezel better
That 1908 is just beautiful as could be!! But $30k even in platinum is just 1/3 too expensive!!😤
Hello Teddy, I think that one of the Rolex with a leather strap is very similar or the same as a Citizen that was released a few months ago, greetings
I really like the black/gray GMT. That’s at the top of my list.

The fact that the 36mm yellow gold daydate with Roman numberals is slipping under the radar is criminal.
