So that's what the view looks like! I've been to the top but my visibility was about 10 feet haha. One of the guys I was with kept complaining about it but I thought it was such a cool experience in itself. It's literally like being on top of a mountain inside of a cloud. You guy's got lucky with how beautiful of a day it was! Nice video :)

Great footage, I've always found descending stuff like this worse than going up

Yeah going down was killer on the knees. Trekking poles really help.

hey harlan. im planning to climb temple next summer. any tips? and is the crux section very difficult?

Vertical is really the only challenge for the most part. If you have done some scrambling then this is just more of the same. Not overly technical (If you stay on route). The crux has an easy section to go up that not a lot of people are aware of which goes up a chimney just left of the main crux section. I have 3 Temple videos on my UA-cam page that show the route. Just remember that likely only mid July to early September is Temple's safe climbing season but that can change year to year. Good luck!

Thanks Harlan! Very much appreciated. I subscribed to your channel but was never sure where the chimney was in your videos. I will post a video when I'm done my climb.

How long was the hike/trip? And when’s a good time to start it?

siedrick orozco we did car to car in 10 hours. I think if you really want to push it you could do it in about 8. We took our time to enjoy the scenery and the moment.

I’m not an avid hiker and I rarely get the chance to go to Banff because of the cost of travel.. I’ve always wanted to do the Mt Temple hike.. how much experience would you say is needed? My boyfriend and I did Fairview mountain this year and found it to be ok (challenging at times but very doable by anyone). Would you say that temple mountain is doable for us? We have no other hiking experience. Sorry for my English

I have not done Fairview Mountain, that being said Temple is more than a hike, there are some scrambling sections and the route isn't defined at some sections. We passed a few people who were heading down due to not being able to find the way. Maybe do the hike up to Sentinel pass, see how you feel and go from there? Good luck.

Would you say that hiking in late June is too early to hike mount temple? Would there be too much snowfall?

I don't live in the area, but based on the elevation, I would say it is a maybe... When I did it there was still snow near the summit in late July. Warm weather in Ontario has been late this year. So if the west is following this trend, Temple may still have plenty of snow. Checkout www.mountain-forecast.com I have found it be handy. Good luck. :)

Anytime I've visited late June early July even getting to sentinel pass is risky
