Two years on the bike. Agree the bike is a bit of a pig. DW link keeps you planted and is my favorite suspension design. Its very versatile - does everything well. Its like riding a Lazy-Boy compared to my XC bike. I like a Disector or Aggressor in the back. I played around with stem lengths and went back to stock 60mm. Any lower causes T-Rex hands and the front wheel comes up when climbing. 780mm Enve bar. Im not sure how big you are, but 740 bars seem too small. They didnt look right in the video too. Varios XT replacement parts. Cracked the real wheel and just replaced them with carbon S35 with hydras. New wheels = quicker handling, smoother ride, and faster with much more engagement. 36 lbs to 33 lbs. Want to try a Disector front and Rekon rear to shed a little more weight and gain some more speed.
Ya I had the seat problem too. Some seats have better clearance, get something lower profile..Sheck out the spank seate, nice and not stupid $$$. Pick up a cascade components rear link, that really makes a difference. Way more poppy and progressive... and raising the front travel to 170 is nice if you plan to ride mostly enduro or DH.. leave it at 160 if ur gonna ride normal trails as it more playful. Enjoy
Good luck with that tubby Boi. I like mine but it needed a lot of work to get it to where it needed to be. Upgrading the wheelset made a huge difference to ride feel and for me and the cascade link was a must for bottom out resistence on bigger hits. The down side to the cascade link is that I lost small bump sensitivity an had to remove a negative air spacer from the dvo shock, but that had a negative effect on the pedalling efficency. Hopefully your Marzocchi shock handles bigger hits better than the dvo. Still, despite my issues, its a rad bike.

The video I've been waiting for! Ive been hitting alafia every weekend for the last 2 months and shredding my ripmo, i think the biggest change i made was swapping to a dissector 2.4 on the rear, shed some rotational weight and way faster rolling. Another thing im planning to do is swap the linkage to a cascade link to get a bit more progression as the stock shock & linkage combo seems to blow through the first half of the stroke and be pretty jarring on the second half of the stroke. Aside from those things im quite happy with the ripmo AF, but next bike will be an Ebike lmao cant do this heat on an amish bike for too many more years haha
I would agree. I put a less aggressive tire on my other bike and it helped with the resistance. Ive heard about the casacade link so i may do that in the future. Need some more ride time on this bike for sure. I plan to move out of Florida in the near future and ill be in the mountains where I think this bike would be way more fun to ride. If i were planning to stay here I would definitely invest in an E-Bike as it just would make these trails far more enjoyable and be able to get more ride time in.
It would be so awesome if Ibis did something like the Ride9 system the Rocky Mountain Altitude has, with a full degree of adjustability on the head angle. I have a ripmo and like it so far, but sometimes I wish I could just flip a chip and get a little more slack or steep.

I have the orange one and had same cons (ride Florida also) DHR/Rekon combo helped lighten the bike up and made it significantly faster and easier to wheelie manual etc. Assagai’s are awesome… just not in Florida. Way to sticky and heavy
The seat buzz is annoying. I experienced the same thing and started with a shorter nukeproof horizon saddle that has a small notch too. But still bottoming out. I tried maxed out volume spacers.... Cascade components resolve the bottoming out. Now she feels really poppy too.
Yeah raising the dropper seemed to do the trick however I’m sure on bigger drops it would still rub a bit.

Spectral. Yup still have it. I’m debating maybe selling both of these and getting the carbon ripmo. Not sure yet though
@@rywandersok. I have the Spectral 29AL which is pretty awesome all around’r. I also have a Santa Cruz Tallboy AL that I built up which I end up riding more because it’s so fun. Just this past month I ran into 2 guys with the Carbon Ripmo, here on Upstate NY. They both said it’s the best bike they have ridden and they have cleared some climbs I have yet to do on either of my bikes.
@@cberg9480 yeah man I feel like if it was as light as my spectral it would more fun. I want to see how it jumps more on my next ride. Having two bike is nice but also I can only ride one at a time lol
