Really appreciated your video - I'm headed to site 18 for two nights soon so I can get Penguin Rock and the Juniper tree with the Milky Way. Seeing the area beforehand helped me get an idea of how to set up for the image I want to take. Thank you!
I visited 9 years ago, didn’t know about that rock, but found it, took pictures of it as you did during the day, and again at night doing some light painting. Didn’t know it even had a name until I saw this video. Thanks.
How wonderful! This rock has certainly become more popular amongst photographers over the years. I wonder how different the landscape looked 9 years ago... Glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂
I gotchu! I created photo notes for this spot that shows the location on the map: www.chrislimbrickphotography.com/photo-notes-penguin-rock-in-joshua-tree-national-park/
Really enjoyed the video, Chris. I think the first photo was my favorite but this video sure did make we want to visit Joshua Tree. Lived in CA my whole life and haven't made it out there yet but that might have to change soon! I know another nature photographer named Jon who does a lot of work out there and it looks like a challenge but a rewarding one. Excellent work buddy!
Glad you enjoyed it! You certainly have to make it out, it's such a magical place. Quite honestly, it is my favorite place I've been to by far. I know you'd capture some incredible images!
Very unfortunate that yt does not recommended ppl with low following, I believe the thumbnail and video quality is enough to be viewed in millions. I believe maybe if u want this to blow up or ur channel, you should advertise ur channel a bit more.
The image is absolutely gorgeous. Love how you give the perspective of the what it looks like when you position the shot with how it looks in your camera. Great tip on how angling up gives you more space for astro-photography. How do you choose your photography spots and why?
So glad you enjoyed the images, and found the composition techniques helpful! Recently I've been choosing spots for my videos that are easily accessible to help encourage others to get out and shoot. But don't worry, I'll be adding some more locations that'll be challenging to get to for the more adventurous!
Favorite sunset

Thanks! Yeah it was pretty wild!
Awesome shots!! 🙌🏻
Thank you!

This makes me so happy! I’m glad you found my video helpful. Be sure to post back with a link to the image, I’d love to see how you captured it!!
Cool shot! not really a fan of using sky replacement at all, but very glad you at least admit using it! Happy shooting
Thanks, glad ya liked it! I’m not the biggest fan either, and feel that it was only ethical that I admit it what I’ve done.
