    As a Taiwanese and a road cycling enthusiast, I was truly touched by this video.
    I've ridden almost all the routes on your trip in the past few days (except for the section from Lishan to Yilan), and these routes are very popular and well-known among Taiwanese cyclists because of their spectacular scenery. Thank you for capturing Taiwan so beautifully.
    But as you said, the roads in the mountainous areas of Taiwan are very winding and narrow due to the narrowness of the land.
    And it's ironic that Taiwan is known as the king of bicycle manufacturing, but the cycling community is a subculture that is not emphasized.
    As a result, the majority of automobile and motorcycle users care even less about the rights of bicyclists on the road. I'm also a little ashamed to have made you feel uncomfortable...
    But I'm glad you're willing to enjoy the beauty of Taiwan!
    If you get a chance in the future, you can also ride the Hualien-Taitung route, which is also known for its beauty.
    I hope you have a safe and smooth trip ahead!!

    Many thanks. Terrific account. By far the best from Puli. And the only one I've seen to Yilan. There are plenty from Hualien, but that isn't a practical ascent for many touring cyclists. Too tough. This will be very helpful to those considering Wuling.

    Love these videos. I've only cycled around the northern tip of Taiwan, but exploring further. Must admit I've learned to be cautious and often stop if I hear a bus or truck coming up behind me, especially if it's a narrow road. However bad the drivers are here, the bus drivers are worse.

    Thanks for posting the route and video!

    Great video! Will be visiting Taiwan and doing a bike tour in Dec. Your videos will help in a lot of the planning. Love your emphasis on safety.
    Many vloggers tend to overlook that aspect.
    The Silex must be new. Thought you had Revolt previously.
    Do you use a portable bike lock when you go into convenience stores? Lots of expensive equipment onboard your bike.

      If you’re planning to go Sunday, I recommend starting the first 2 days and then waiting out the typhoon in Puli. The effect of the typhoon should be mostly ok on the west side of the island. Definitely don’t go to Wuling during typhoon

    Nice vid, It would be nice if you included a bike check in the vid. How would you compare Wuling pass to Inthanon's backside or Ang Khang?

    • @JohnnyZeeLee
      @JohnnyZeeLee  2 місяці тому

      The bike check will be a separate video. This one’s already so long. I’ve never ridden Ang Khang and Inthanon I have only gone up the main road. I think Wuling is tougher but having said that, I’ve only done Inthanon once and it was a long time ago. Also I’m comparing riding a loaded bike up Wuling to a lightweight race bike up Inthanon. It’s hard to say

    You just rode part of the Taiwan KOM Challenge course (Wuling) which is arguably the toughest climb of the world. You got some decent descending skills there.. and yeah, cars do not mind taking up over the double yellow lane with full gas which is ignoring as f**k. If you ever want to try riding with diff groups instead of Liv, you can try roll with the PNS guys (Pas Normal Studio) from AB group to racer level

      @JohnnyZeeLee  Місяць тому +1

      I really don’t know. I know for sure you can ride from the area where the airport is located into Taipei but I don’t know how it would be trying to ride a bike out of the terminal. It’s a pretty big airport. I can say, if you don’t mind taking the train, it’s super affordable. Good luck
