Hey 👋 Check your settings match the ones in this blog I made. tictactical.co.uk/easy-guide-how-to-record-peoples-voices-soundboard-for-clipping-in-voice-game-chat/ Let me know if that works
@@mh0072 hey! yeah I can’t see any reason why it shouldn’t as long as you have the Wave XLR you can use any mic with it. You may encounter some latency issues though with it being USB. But you will still be able to route audio channels etc 👌
@@ItsTicTactical I appreciate it. Do you have any recc’s for a studio quality gaming headset? I really would like something without a permanently fixed mic so I can use for music as well. Looking at M50x with modmic. I’m very new to this so thanks again for your help.
@ I use these and love them, also help with game sounds, I can’t tell what’s hear people’s footsteps from a mile away in COD: amzn.to/3PZgM1P For music, you can’t go wrong with these too: amzn.to/4hKqLUx Hope this helps!
Is there a way to set up voice meeter to have it so when I play the sound I want to play from my stream deck, I can also hear that through my default output device while also not allowing my voice speaking into the mic to be heard through the same output device? Like if I wanted to make sure I played the correct sound, I could hear it in my headset while also not having to listen to myself talk into my mic through my headset.
Hey! Just route your mic and soundboard to separate inputs in Voicemeeter. Set your soundboard to play through your headset (A1 or whatever your default output is) and make sure your mic isn’t routed to your headset. This way, you’ll hear the soundboard but not your own voice.
Depending on the game, COD for example, they allow you to set a specific output for Voice Chat, that way none of my voice clips have any game sound in. I use WaveLink for this though and you need a compatible Elgato device to use it.
how do i monitor the soundboards audio? I got it working but I can't hear the sounds unless I switch the output to my headset which would then obviously not play through my mic
It sounds like you’re on the right track with your soundboard! To monitor audio while using your mic, you might want to check you have switched the A channel off (If using Voicemeter), that way you only hear your soundboards and not your voice. Drop in my discord and we can help you out 👍
Everything is mostly working except I have zero idea what discord settings to use as my input and output. My mic is working in discord, but the sounds are not.
@@rapture1990 Hey 👋 depends if you are using Voicemeter or WaveLink? For WaveLink you should set your mic to ‘WaveLink Microphone FX’ for Voicemeter it should be ‘Microphone out B1’ - let me know if that works.
That is correct 👍 I’m going to do a video without the Stream Deck soon though as I’ve had a few comments requesting it 🤙 would highly recommend the Stream Deck though it’s amazing for soundboards. Thanks for watching 🙂
You can now do it without a physical Stream Deck using the Stream Deck Mobile app. I made a Tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/cdwstLpuWDE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TicTactical
i have a goxlr and i can record voices but is there anyway to have it record peoples voice then automaticly rout to my stream deck or something similar to that setup??
I'm not sure about the GoXLR - You could set the voice files to record to a folder on your computer then set the Sound Deck Elgato plugin to play the latest sound from that folder.
Hey! If you jump in the Discord in the description I'd be happy to take a look / help with this. That way you can share screenshots and help me diagnose any issues.
Try deselecting (A) from your (stereo input 1) on the regular Voicemeter screen. That should disable your own voice coming through your headphones. There has been an update so will be redoing this video soon!
Not that I know of, you can use Stream Deck Mobile for free to do it if you don't have a physical Soundboard though. Check the last bit of the video for instructions :)
@ thank you dude I got it sorted now I did have to filter through comments to figure out I can use the app instead of a physical soundboard but the video was very helpful
So once you have those 2 channels set up in Wave Link, they need to be set up to match the game you are playing. So let's say COD, In the settings on the game you can set your output sounds to be 'Wave Link Game' and your Input would be 'MicrophoneFX'. On your Stream Deck when setting up the SoundDeck Sampler Button, the Capture Device would be 'Wave Link Game' so you can record audio from the game output (Including voice chat) and your playback device would be the 'Wave Link SFX'. Hope this helps, if not drop into my discord (Link in profile) and I'll be able to help you out. ✌️
I'm recording an updated version for this and I've found an issue in Sound Deck (The Elgato Plugin) on the Sampler button - If 'Encode to MP3' is selected it sometimes doesn't work. Try unchecking this and see if it works.
Hey 👋 The Sound Deck plugin doesn’t work with Sonar as far as I’m aware, only because they don’t have an option to route your Sounds from an audio channel through your mic. Using Voicemeter alongside SonarGG would work though. Hope that helps.
Hey, did you download the regular Voicemeter or Voicemeter Banana? 🍌 also if you change your default output to be your speakers or headphones not connected to Voicemeter does the sound play? Voicemeter does tend to have a few issues compared to Wave Link. Problem is to use Wave Link you need an Elgato Audio device 😢

I believe the Sonar app allows you to split audio. It’s a simple process really, windows just makes it hard for us 😅 you essentially need 2 channels, 1 for game audio and one to route recordings to your microphone. There is a lot of software that helps you do this, voicemeter isn’t the best from experience, there is a soundboard software called VoiceMod that also lets you do this, might be worth giving that a try first? If you still struggle jump in my discord and there are a fair few of us that have done this and have it working who will be able to help you out 🤙
There is a way! But it involves setting up HotKeys, so instead of pressing a button to record, you would press a set hotkey. I’ll try and do a video on it in the future! 👍
