I’ve lived under 13 years of Labour & 14 years of Conservative. Don’t have any particular love for Labour but I choose them over the Tories anyday. The last 14 years we’ve had in succession the worst PMs & parliaments in the history of this country. NEVER AGAIN. If you want something else other than Labour, there needs to be something new coming forward that doesn’t remotely resemble the Tories.
You need to open you're mind to new things alternating between the two main party's won't make any difference plenty of alternatives on the right Left and centre ground.

I expect a Labour government but I expect they will struggle as I don't see Starmer as popular or a world statesman. I've seen many Labour and Tory governments in my past and for the first time I might not bother to vote this time as either party will not make any difference.

Mmmmm we should perhaps cast our minds back to just after the Tories won the last election and what Curtice said - Labour had no chance of overturning the result for at least two election cycles. The guy is not quite the expert he is made out to be.

Just after the Last election that Labour lost they destroyed the economy to the extent the new tory government had to implement a 2 year pay freeze to fix it.
Yes but since then we have had covid, partygate, the war in Ukraine, energy crisis and Liz Truss's disastrous budget. I doubt anyone saw all that coming!

We need more immigration, not less declining birth rate aging population
The flaw is that immigrants get older too so it is like a pyramid scheme. You will forever need more and more immigrants coming in each generation. With fertility rates expected to level off by 2100 that is never going to work out in the long term. Technological advances into AI and robotics is the only to solve the problem.

I think he is entirely correct. Whilst immigration has always been a key issue for the hardcore Tory base, to the more moderate majority there are far more important concerns. I agree with him that the state of our public services after fourteen years of austerity is a much bigger priority.
