In 1968, the entire world went BANANAS!
This album is phenomenal. Thank you for uploading this. It brings a tear to the eye.
They REALLY need a comeback. Not just some horror movie or have a minor role in another show, but the spotlight.
Thanks so much this was a wonderful show. I remember it from when I was a kid. We need fun shows like this.
Saw them live at two years old. That was the moment I decided I wanted to play drums!
Still drumming today?
@@noahpartic7586 Yeah, as much as a 55yo father of 3 and grandfather of one can find the time.
@@petermason2112 Not bad.
Keep on drumming😏.
Wait the banana splits had live show???
@@HappycoloredGrimsby They did.
I was 10 when i got this album for Christmas. I.loved the Bansna Splits Show. It was my first album. I now, at 64, own over 700 vinyl lp's and 1247 cd's. I play keyboards(i own a moog matriarch!plus, A Roland FA06, a Roland RD 88, a Yamaha PSR 36, a Yamaha PSR70, a Yamaha RX5 drum machine), guitar(i only have 3 guitars, a EpiphoneLesPaulCustom, an Ibanez AEG70 acoustic guitar, and a Casio DG20 digital guitar), latin drums, hamonica, accordion, penny whistle! I have a music studio. I should do a tribute to this album. Awesome! I haven't listened to this album in 54 years. It's excellent.
Gonna find a cave and In New Orleans are ace!
Some of those songs sound like they came from Classic Sesame Street (60's, 70's, 80's, or early 90's)
This was Hanna-Barbera's first live-action series along with "The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" (which was a hybrid of live-action and animation).
❤ thank you for posting my childhood memories 😊👍
some great garage band tracks!!! im gonna find a cave!!!!!!!! love it
I didn't know about this album until Saturday 9-3-22, only the 2 45rpm record set that I owned as a kid from Kellogg's, worth it.
I surmise it was Decca Records that printed the 45's since Hanna-Barbara itself never had a record label of it's own...AT ALL that I know of. Very good record label design.
The show was last scene on cable channel Boomerang, Cartoon Network's Sister Station 6am EST. Check local listings.
Thanks for the nostalgia & the song listings, it really helped.
Thank you for posting.
I never liked the Tra La La song, or show itself when I was a kid. I guess it must have overestimated me, but I also felt that the humor was a bit too stupid for my taste. I came to this video while searching for the first track on this album "We're The Banana Splits", which stuck in the back of my memory all these decades. After listening to this video, I do like the song "Walt 'Til Tomorrow", which has a nostalgic sound and melody line which I associate with the slightly psychedelic influenced pop songs of the late 1960s.
I still have my vinyl copy, but has ANYONE ever found a credits list of the singers and players on the recordings?! I'm dying to know! Any of the wrecking crew out of Los Angeles, maybe??
I would to find out who were the musicians and singers on this album .gloves this album when I was a kid and still love it today

Groovy baby!!!
Its like a mash up of all the garage rock, psych rock and bubble gum pop of 1968 ....sounds like the groups Strawberty alarm clock, the Monkees, Animals, and Sly and The Family Stone mixed into one group. Its a good album , very good cross section of the sounds of 68.
I remember this show way back then 1968
As a 2000s kids who’s only introduction of them is boomerang that’s awesome to hear! I bet you used to have banana spits merch back then as well :-)
Had this album on 8 Track tape still stashed with all my old 8tracks I'll bet if not worn completely out. My parents probably regretted ever buying it for me.....You Can't buy Soul
I love all these wonderful songs
This was never available in u k. As far as I know so it's only taken me nearly 50 years to listen to "Doing the banana split" Barry white song. Used to love that! Amazing the writers on this album and I think the "sour grapes" would be banned now for obvious reasons.
I loved them so much! I was four 💗
They’re WAYYYY before my time but I always love it when boomerang played the Tra la la song 💕💕💕
The original and the 2008 reboot have great writers for the songs, sucks people forced the 2008 version off the air
That beings back memories the good old sixtees the banner splits are grve and cool
I got this album at 10 for Christmas while my brother got The Archie's album. The banana Splits were cooler!
cool
The Banana Splits were all stoners!🤪
