0:43 This illustrates a problem I have with a lot of 3rd person action RPG titles, including Souls-likes. The scale is way off. Your character looks like a toddler in a Halloween costume in their parents kitchen. Why? Am I the only one who sees this constantly? Everything is too big/the character is too small. EDIT: I really want to try that new soulslike by Spiders...Steelrising. It looks amazing, but also has bug issues, at least for PC. I hope that gets cleaned up. As much as I learn from and enjoy your DIablo 2 content, I do like seeing other reviews like this too. Thanks!
I sadly wasn't able to get a key for Steelrising, but I know a lot of people enjoyed it (not entirely sure it would run well enough on my system to record it anyways though :( ) As far as the scaling thing - some of it is intentional in Hellpoint (as there are NPCs/corpses/etc. that are the same scale as you, and a few enemies as well), but some of it definitely goes into that uncanny valley where it's "marginally bigger, but not enough to feel intentional" - wager it's an intentional thing to make the world feel more oppressive, but we've seen in other games that it can be done without this.
I can't speak for Hellpoint, but generally when you look too small for the area in the Souls games is because you're running around in areas designed for demigods/giants. It also helps add to the atmosphere that you're a pathetic creature running around in a world where everything is more powerful than you. From a gameplay perspective, having the enemies larger helps you to read enemy tells. When you're fighting an NPC-type enemy that's your size, it can be much harder to see where their limbs are, especially in a third-person game when your character's body is between the enemy and the camera, potentially blocking your view.

Hellpoint was fun. A very under the radar gem, in my opinion.
definitely one of my favorite souls-likes, despite some of its bugs, it hit the sweet spot for me in terms of difficulty and world building.
Good controls.
Sci fi meets Lovecraft
Oppresive environment
Hellpoint is still the most fun I’ve had with a Soulslike game.
This is actually one of the top tier Souls-likes. It had the jank and experimental mechanics of early Fromsoft games like Demon's Souls
yup, and it's still easily one of my favorite non-fromsoft soulslikes to date :)
@@Alzorath hope it sold well enough for a sequel
I really loved this game, the atmosphere is something special.
I've watched alot of Hellpoint videos and this one is really good. I think this is the video that's gonna make me buy it!
Really is a fun (albeit still buggy) game :) - still one of my favorite souls-likes to date.

@@Ashanmaril Exactly it's much cooler.
Steelrising is good. Cool setting and combat identity. It is easy tho. Hellpoint is also easy
You see a giant skull in the Sohn District that suggests larger beings/humans for what it’s worth
Hellblade: Senua's journey
i might get it, the base game was cool
the DLC is definitely worth it if you enjoyed the base game
Game would be a masterpiece if the ai and combat was actually difficult. Still enjoyed it
