I have just walked across one of the HS2 footpaths, and saw an HS2 vehicle operating a large Drone. It was a White pickup truck, with a tall aerial flying an orange warning flag. Just thought it was worth mentioning for your future drone flights and risk analysis 👍
I've since learned they use GPS to guide the diggers too so that's why I usually fly on Sundays when work is at a minimum. I also keep my distance unlike a few other drone operators I've seen on here. They really should be more careful.
Bucks County Council were quick enough to grant permission for the A418 to be closed over several weekends, and one or two whole weeks not forgetting " contingency" dates to inconvenience those of us who have to travel along that road.
That's something else I don't understand about this site. Why can't the new road be completed with fencing at either end and then when it needs to be opened, simply remove the fencing overnight and open the new road? Why the original road needs to be closed entirely a number of times baffles me.
Watched and 'liked' 👍 It's frustrating that nothing much seems to be happening very quickly along this stretch but I suppose there is a schedule that they're sticking to. Interesting to see some kind of activity at the weekend. Maybe things are going to move quicker in the coming months.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I reckon that will start to change soon. It's a pity they can't keep us more informed as I'm in the dark most of the time. A lot of guess work is required and sometimes I get it wrong.
Very good as always,is there any way of finding out why planning permission for the bridge hasn’t been granted. So technically if the council wanted to could they get the bridge demolished?
Cheers. I can't find any information about why there is a delay in planning permission. There are two outstanding applications awaiting approval - the overbridge parapets and the verges within the bridge. The structure itself is approved which is why it is largely complete. The latest documents relating to the parapets dates from December 2023. I wish I knew what the hold up was. Maybe someone in the know can inform us.
@@KarlVaughanIt might be something to do with the boundary’s of the houses whose gardens back onto the new road ,some home owners might be disputing it.
Sheer waste of taxpayers money ... I live over looking that project going from nowhere to nowhere.. what a waste ,,, and ruined a lovely part of the country for nothing... A billion pound black hole still find money for that but deprive pensioners of for some essential winter payments

Beautiful project, thank you.

Was at Greatworth yesterday twice and they working hard there too. Caroline
Thanks for the update, as you say, I thought they would have waited for planning permission for the A418 bridge parapets!
I wonder if that is delaying the construction around it? It's been 'awaiting decision' since Dec 2023. I wish I knew what the problem with it is.
There still seem to be a couple of missing piers on the viaduct with no apparent progress. Thanks for the update.

nothing has changed then
Very little, it seems.
Another 150 billion is required to finish project end date 2075.
