Sigh. I have to pass on most drugstore satin lipsticks because of the lanolin/lanolin esters/alcohols. I wish they’d quit using lanolin for those of us severely allergic. I don’t relish the itchy, sore, red blisters on my lips and face. Been happy that CT, LE, Besame Cosmetics don’t use lanolin and it’s derivatives. I'll be checking out both drug store shades of rose, because I too, have similar skin and lip tones as you and love to find those shades that are close to my natural color. Regarding cream blush, I like to add a little to my temple area (like you would a bronzer) to marry in the cheek color and add more "flush" to my face. OK I love Velvet Muse, but mine broke at base, so I can't toss in my purse, so I'm going to try the Velvet Rose, because we wear a lot of the same lip shades even though we are SOOOOOOO different in skin coloring, lol. Omgosh, I love the photo of you in your beret!! I do LOVE the Merit Raspberry Beret and wear it a lot, but it doesn't last long for me, I use for quick lunch dates or errands.

Hi Tamara it's always nice to see people applying makeup I would wear myself. This is my version of a daytime look for me - polished, but with cool neutrals and a fairly soft aesthetic. I love the artistry of a more "full face and dramatic eye", but it's not an everyday look for me. I'm either going to work, meeting friends for coffee, out on the motorbike (in full gear including a helmet), or wandering round the shops - that's day time for me and soft/pretty makeup is my goal in those situations. If I'm out for dinner or an evening out, then I may wear a bit more - those are occasions though and a more dressed up look means a little more drama is fine. It is a pretty palette, but I have quite a few taupes/cooler neutrals and rosy/plum/mauve eyeshadows already - those are my go to shades after all lol. I don't need it, although I do like it and if I didn't already own so many similar shades then I probably would cave and buy it. The blush, highlighter and lipstick are also really pretty. I too apply my highlighter under my blush, as I feel it gives a softer glow on dry/mature skin. I've been playing with some pastel accent shades alongside my soft greys, mauves and taupes, for a Spring appropriate looks. One of the easiest ways to do so is with some eyeliner. It's just a flash of colour against the mascara and overall neutral/soft eye look - yet it is just enough to change up my normal look as to feel a bit fresher for Spring. Here in Scotland we're in Spring with a few warmer and some cooler days still. Summer isn't here usually weather wise until late June, despite a few days beforehand being warm sometimes. The evenings are still cooler at this time of year here. I thought you looked really pretty in your red beret and best wishes.

She always told us, her granddaughters, that if you wore nothing else on your face, wear lipstick as it brightens your face. This video made me think of her. Sunday is always complete after I watch your video. Wow gorgeous palette and what a great look!! I amazed to see Burt’s Bees highlighter. I had ordered Flower highlighter and as soon as I got I am not a fan!! I hate specks of glittery stuff on my 69yo face. I might have to try the one by Burt’s. Several years ago I bought one of Burt’s lip color and it is still one of my favs. So happy you are feeling better.
I have to say Thank You for your content today on the lipsticks. I Ike your taste in colors and had gotten the Rum Raisin when you recommended it so quickly ordered the hard to find L’Oréal one and purchased the Revlon color. But the best part of this story is that while at the store , I found my long lost favorite L’Oréal color Sandstone. Target had this color too so I purchased that one as well . Sandstone is my purse lipstick and I had not been able to find it so just forgot about it for years until now :)

Hi Becky! Your window box sounds so pretty! Two plants come to mind that can add some nice trailing greenery....both are actually perrenial ground covers. So what I do is use them in pots, then at the end of the season tuck them into a nursery bed for the winter and then dig them. up and use them again in pots the following season. Over time the plants multiply/spread and saves a ton of money. One plant is Lamium...comes in a variety of shades from lime green to silver and and another plant that works well is money wort. I think it only comes in a lime color but lime really brightens up a shady area and would look gorgous with your begonias. I also love lobelia for a little fluffy blue/purple color...I use it in the shade similar how I would use allysum in the sun. Happy planting!

OK I love Velvet Muse, but mine broke at base, so I can't toss in my purse, so I'm going to try the Velvet Rose, because we wear a lot of the same lip shades even though we are SOOOOOOO different in skin coloring, lol. Omgosh, I love the photo of you in your beret!! I do LOVE the Merit Raspberry Beret and wear it a lot, but it doesn't last long for me, I use for quick lunch dates or errands.

Hi Tamara it's always nice to see people applying makeup I would wear myself. This is my version of a daytime look for me - polished, but with cool neutrals and a fairly soft aesthetic. I love the artistry of a more "full face and dramatic eye", but it's not an everyday look for me. I'm either going to work, meeting friends for coffee, out on the motorbike (in full gear including a helmet), or wandering round the shops - that's day time for me and soft/pretty makeup is my goal in those situations. If I'm out for dinner or an evening out, then I may wear a bit more - those are occasions though and a more dressed up look means a little more drama is fine.
It is a pretty palette, but I have quite a few taupes/cooler neutrals and rosy/plum/mauve eyeshadows already - those are my go to shades after all lol. I don't need it, although I do like it and if I didn't already own so many similar shades then I probably would cave and buy it. The blush, highlighter and lipstick are also really pretty. I too apply my highlighter under my blush, as I feel it gives a softer glow on dry/mature skin. I've been playing with some pastel accent shades alongside my soft greys, mauves and taupes, for a Spring appropriate looks. One of the easiest ways to do so is with some eyeliner. It's just a flash of colour against the mascara and overall neutral/soft eye look - yet it is just enough to change up my normal look as to feel a bit fresher for Spring. Here in Scotland we're in Spring with a few warmer and some cooler days still. Summer isn't here usually weather wise until late June, despite a few days beforehand being warm sometimes. The evenings are still cooler at this time of year here.

Thank you Doree! I loved Revlon Cherries in the Snow lipstick back in the day…they still make it…but I can no longer carry it off. My daughter wears it though. I love how Revlon keeps classic shades.

Hello lovely and I'm so glad you're feeling better! My grandmother, who passed away at the amazing age of 111, wore lipstick every single day. She always told us, her granddaughters, that if you wore nothing else on your face, wear lipstick as it brightens your face. This video made me think of her. I had ordered Flower highlighter and as soon as I got I am not a fan!! I hate specks of glittery stuff on my 69yo face. I might have to try the one by Burt’s. Several years ago I bought one of Burt’s lip color and it is still one of my favs. So happy you are feeling better.

I have to say Thank You for your content today on the lipsticks. I Ike your taste in colors and had gotten the Rum Raisin when you recommended it so quickly ordered the hard to find L’Oréal one and purchased the Revlon color. But the best part of this story is that while at the store , I found my long lost favorite L’Oréal color Sandstone. Target had this color too so I purchased that one as well . Sandstone is my purse lipstick and I had not been able to find it so just forgot about it for years until now :)

So glad you’re feeling better! I planted some light and dark peach/coral rose begonias this morning but need to find a trailing plant (for shade) to go in the window box. Any suggestions? Love the lipstick suggestions you mentioned. Muse is one of my favs!
Hi Becky! Your window box sounds so pretty! Two plants come to mind that can add some nice trailing greenery....both are actually perrenial ground covers. So what I do is use them in pots, then at the end of the season tuck them into a nursery bed for the winter and then dig them. up and use them again in pots the following season. Over time the plants multiply/spread and saves a ton of money. One plant is Lamium...comes in a variety of shades from lime green to silver and and another plant that works well is money wort. I think it only comes in a lime color but lime really brightens up a shady area and would look gorgous with your begonias. I also love lobelia for a little fluffy blue/purple color...I use it in the shade similar how I would use allysum in the sun. Happy planting!
