My first time seeing Queensryche live was for the Warning tour. I saw every tour up to Tribe and each concert was better with Empire and Promised Land being the best.
That one perfect album in time where every guitar rhythm every solo every chorus ...everything is perfect about it....BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME!!!....DEF TOP 3
Had the honor to see them in Germany in 89 on that tour and then again in 91 at the greatest 1 day concert Monsters of Rock. Perfect storm was in order Black Crowes, Queensryche (Empire), Metallica (Black Album), Motley Crue (Decade of Decadence) and AC/DC (Thunderstruck) Insane
Mindcrime is easily in the conversation of greatest rock concept album of all time. DeGarmo was the secret sauce too, just like Steve Clark was to Def Leppard, neither band was even close to the same once they left. Was a huge glaring hole in the sound.
This is a rare live video.. Scott still playing his old kit from Rage days. OMC CD just came out.. i saw them perform the new material in a night club 3 weeks before this!
This is definitely one of coolest QR videos out there , right after MC was released and Scott playing his black Tamas so fn cool... i saw them within a month or so after this video was done playing in a nightclub 5 feet from the stage, preparing for the big tour in Winston-Salem, NC in 1988
They were both so hot in different ways. That album was so brilliantly written and performed. They were so tight as a band back then. Never thought they'd break up the way that they did.
This is my favorite album ever! QUEENSRYCHE live doing Mindcrime live, literally mind blowing! Honestly, I've seen every good metal band live and Queensryche blows everyone out of the water! I will never forget this concert! Thank you Queensryche for all of the amazing music you have given to the world!
Operation Mindcrime is as good today as it was the first time I heard it in the 80s. Awesome music from a first class band...not a Hair Band but a great Hard Rock Band. Rage for order was equally good!
they are just with out Geoff tate, they have released 3 albums since he left. oddly enough GT released a Queensryche album also with diiferent members. they went to Court & willton & Rockenfield won the use of the Name; correction " Sorry i thought you said "they are not A Band anymore"
Only discovered this interview now! Best ever interview! Love the Japenese way of doing things, find it very humourous. When I heard Eyes of a stranger on radio for the first time in 1994 (that late yeah) my jaw dropped. Had to buy the album and from there on all previous Rýche albums and afterwards until chaos. Lost interest then.... sad. Mindcrime in my top 3 records of all time along with Boston and Painkiller.
This is absolutely the best interview I've never seen... Now I'm wondering what else I've missed. One of my favorite album's..ever. Thanks to OP for taking the time to upload this.
I was a metalhead in the 80s when this came out and I distinctly recall my buddy and I getting high a lot and playing this over and over (among many other albums). It was a "heady" time in music. But I also remember artists like Tracy Chapman and Edie Brickell and New Bohemians playing on MTV with sound turned down as this played. Artists I didn't really value till much later. I was 16, a stoner and metalhead. For us it was Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Metal Church, Guns N. Roses, Ozzy, and Motley Crue...and, of course QUEENSRYCHE!
He gave it away to one of his students on a wager. The guy was a pro baseball player and he said if he pitched a no hitter game he would give him the set. He pitched a no hitter. It was in a Rockenfield interview. I loved that set!
Unfortunately playback on the songs (which is somewhat annoying, Tate easily had the voice to pull that off live).. but i guess its like the British "top of the pops", IE, playback mandatory. As for the album.. an absolute masterpiece, probably in my top 3 albums of all time.
Wierd. Geoff seems so interested. NOT. Haha. Wonder why he sued them when he got booted. Also, never seen Wilton with a Marilyn Monroe guitar....that impressed me more than them using the actual track as the video.(i know, a lot of bands did that) Seems wild how people complain when a member leaves or whatnot....each person has their own tastes, even if youre successful. See jason newsted leaving Metallica. Just seems wild tate seemed like he never cared during the video. MISS this band left and right. New Q is darn good. No clue what tates version is doing. Sorry to disappoint and disrespect. I prefer the Rue over both versions. Go Chris!
I'm still blown away how they were able to write such an amazing album while being so young.
Geoff Tates voice is unbelievable!
You honestly cannot get any better than queensryche in the 80s. That was a magical time. Metal was metal and it was good.
Rick Schweitzer Absolutely Love Warning & Rage too! 🎙❤️🎸
My first time seeing Queensryche live was for the Warning tour. I saw every tour up to Tribe and each concert was better with Empire and Promised Land being the best.
Operation MindCrime is a Brilliant concept album on so many levels. Still relevant in 2022
Still one of the best albums ever.
That one perfect album in time where every guitar rhythm every solo every chorus ...everything is perfect about it....BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME!!!....DEF TOP 3
Rage for Order is even better.
along with Back in Black and Moving Pictures
Operation and Painkiller,best Album ever🙏🤘
They were unreal live, I’ve never heard a band sound so perfect live, as QR!!
My all time favorite band & Album ❤️❤️🤘🤘🎸🎸
Absolutely one of the best albums ever made.
For me this was Queensryche at their best. Love em.
Degarmo and Tate. The Heart and Soul of Queensryche
Exact

1988...the year they were untouchable
actually 1989 when the videos were in Full swing on MTV, either way they were awesome 1983 - 1990
Such a great interview
wow!! is awesome seeinh him sooo shy, soo quiet an introverted!!
Geoff's look when handed a half bottle of water. Lmfao.
I like how DeGarmo orders a beer and gets a new one and Tate is just puzzled at his opened/half empty water
That is hilarious! I laughed so hard.
Operation Mindcrime is as good today as it was the first time I heard it in the 80s. Awesome music from a first class band...not a Hair Band but a great Hard Rock Band. Rage for order was equally good!
Chris and Geoff deffently was the backbone of Queensryche. Sad theyre not in the band anymore. This is when they were the best in the 80s.
they are just with out Geoff tate, they have released 3 albums since he left.

The essential progressive metal album.

Touring with Def Leppard & Metallica in 1988, fucking amazing!
This has to be one of the weirdest interviews ive ever seen😂
wish they were still together
Geoff is like why the hell am i being interviewed by a PUPPET?
Sounds great. Listen on,, 4/8/2022
Best interview ever...one guy is Masa Itoh..who is the other guy and who was actually doing the questions? A Japanese fan would be of help here...
The legendary japan promoter Masa Ito...!!!
I love Queensryche and wow his guitar with Marilyn Monroe's picture on it how cool is that ? These guys are smooth. ❤🎸🎵🎤
"RYCHE-N-ROLL"!! ❤️🤘🤘🎸🎸
Perfection! 🙏🏼
This group should still be together. They owe it to their fans,
No they don't. Queensryche doesn't owe anybody anything.
They're still together minus the Cancer.
Excellent!
Guitar sublime
Great video,,thanks!!!!!
Wilton's Marilyn Monroe guitar tho

Operation Mindcrime could have been called MK Ultra and it would have stood for exactly the same concept.
pure rock懐かしいw
My local buddy has this drum kit in his stable now wow
Tate made this band! How can you listen to his voice and not know that!!!
His voice is obviously a huge part but Degarmo's songwriting and overall influence should never be understated. Chris Degarmo is a genius.
THAT ESP!!!!
Crazy Japanese haha... their media is like a whole nother world.
パワーロックトゥデイ!?懐かしい
伊藤正則が何年経っても変化しない…
Back when Scott Rockenfield's drum set was cool. Where did the chains go?!
He gave it away to one of his students on a wager. The guy was a pro baseball player and he said if he pitched a no hitter game he would give him the set. He pitched a no hitter.
It was in a Rockenfield interview. I loved that set!
He gave that set to Randy Johnson (baseball player)
Kick Ass.....even lip syncing.
Unfortunately playback on the songs (which is somewhat annoying, Tate easily had the voice to pull that off live).. but i guess its like the British "top of the pops", IE, playback mandatory.

They're talking..to a puppet lol

Jeff is a good try.
