One of my favorite songs I remember when you put the video out for it about 10 years ago with the boat out in the water very beautiful they took it down but this one is just as good this one is pretty too very nice.
This is a re-telling of "The Odyssey", referencing Odysseus being tied to the mast to escape the sirens.

I consider myself fairly well-read, but I had forgot. So, Thank You for the Cool explanation of the song being a Re-telling of "The Odyssey". And as to "being tied to the mast to escape the Sirens" with their irresistible singing: Literally, the "Call of the Siren's", wooing sailors to their doom!!
"Still I remain tied to the mast..." SD is one of my all time faves and I finally got to see them in NOLA at the Blues and Jazz Festival. My son and I were right up front for the entire set. They didn't do this song, but Michael McDonald joined them for "Pretzel Logic" for the encore. Great stuff!
Michael McDonald's was a vocalist with steely Dan for awhile.

Steely Dan are just so sophisticated, as musicians, that jazz element that runs through a lot of their tracks, but this has got 2 b my favourite, but the tracj Aja, is also brilliant,, & so is new frontier, jeez, there are just so many brilliant tracks, i could go on.
Yes, saw them twice in concert. Incredible production, even live. Closed my eyes. Perfect. Heaven.

I love the lyrics with the song but these are vacation dream images and do not represent the true scope of the song witch IMO is bittersweet but dark. but at least you put up the song and lyrics of a nice quality and for that I thank you ; )
