Thank you SO much for this video and your excellent explanations and instructions! I was considering skipping the double knitting in a pattern because I had no idea how or why to do it. I’m so glad I found your video, now all is clear!
Thank you so much for this! Your instructions are very clear, and your calm voice kept me calm while I was casting off. 😁 Really appreciate the extra repeats because it’s difficult to go back with needles in hand!
Thank you for such a helpful video - I managed a great finish on my vest using your technique (and quietly repeating the instructions to myself in your calming voice!)
I am so glad I found this video to double knit in the round because I learned the "Norwegian" (or perhaps Scandinavian is better) purl and the relaxed Continental style that you use. I learned it from Arne and Carlos videos after my hands were cramping up from the other ways. So much easier to follow when the video holds the yarn the same way I do!
Awesome tutorial. My first time doing a tubular BO and I watched a bunch of videos before coming back to yours. I only did two set up rounds though instead of four. My neckline looks great! Thank you.
Hi Meiju I'm really interested to see your bind off. I am re-knitting some cuffs on my favourite cardigan and decided I would look for something more suitable than my usual basic bind-off. I am interested in the second row of the double knitting - I can see that you slip the k st purlwise..do you then bring the yarn forward and purl, then take the yarn to the back again for the next k st to be slipped? its really difficult to see in the video.? many thanks, Eleanor
Thanks for your comment! The second row of double knitting goes simply that I slip the k st purlwise and purl the p st normally. My style of purling is Finnish (or Scandinavian style) in which I first bring the yarn in front and over the needle to purl. Any style of purling goes there, the intention is just to create a normal purl stitch. In the video you just see my style, which can be a little odd to see of you don't know what's happening there. It is just a normal purl.
@@MeijuKnitsHaving watched it a few times I thought it might be a 'local' style that I wasn't familiar with so now you have explained it all makes sense! Thank you Meiju. I have finished my cuffs and I'm very pleased with them. I have 2 more questions.. Can this bind off be use on flat knitting? (not 'in the round') and also is there a version for binding off plain knitting (not Rib)? Also wondering what yarn you are using in your video - it looks lovely!
@@eleanorthompson7864 Yes, it is possible to do the bind off on flat knitting, the stitches have to be handled partly when they are already off the needle. I should make a video on it.
@@eleanorthompson7864 I haven’t seen it used on Stockinette stitch and I haven’t tried it, so my I am not sure how it works on that. It might roll the edging either way. The yarn is Madelinetosh tosh vintage in color Badlands.
Hei Meiju!
Finally I understand the technique. Thank you excellent video.
That was so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to pass on your skills and knowledge.
Thanks for the comment! 🤗
You explain this SO WELL. Thanks for that
Thanks. Very clear. By end it all made sense and you made me think i can actually manage that. I've subscribed

thank you for this very clear tutorial. Your method made it very understandable, and the finished edge is definitely worth the work. It's beautiful
