He figured the explosives would be a good... distraction. So he ended up setting them off by Alexander to get the Illuminati to come out and see what was up. It worked, and others got to sneak into the workshop..... but they also managed to set off some lovely traps along the way. It was an RP event I ran back then! Was this kind of "Indiana Jones" type adventure with traps and hyjinx to get some important loot (in this case research on how aetherytes are actually built, since they had aetherytes inside the workshop).

Poor robot probably just wanted to be left alone and sleep - but nooOOOOOooooo; us annoying adventures just have to butt in to make life so much difficult for these innocent NPCs. xD Thanks for expanding on the story and filling in this blank. I was honestly genuinely curious about just what the heck that black powder was actually for, so it was nice to finally get an answer to that question. Your editing and story telling made for a very fun and dare I say compelling story. Not going to lie, it really re-ignited my want to rp in general and to figure out how to do it on ff14. I miss rp-ing adventures and explorations likes this and ff14,s world became one I just love from playing the game the "normal" way. For a bit of context... When it comes to gil transactions in RP, this is something that (on the Chaos datacenter) it's handwaved, and most people don't actually exchange gil behind the scenes. The reason being that your character may be filthy rich, but you yourself might not be, and it's a game mechanic that doesn't need used in RP. And, everyone has differing standards of gil and what is expensive and what is poor in terms of the lore, so it's just not something that happens on Chaos (typically). On Light and in Night-club based RP I think it's more common, but Chaos doesn't advocate or accept Night-club RP being advertised as it tends to be fairly lore iffy. Really great video, though! I couldn't make it to this campaign, but heard the stories from friends.
Fwiw I am a Light RPer and that money I got from Elisia is like the only time I ever got paid real money in RP...ever. So it's not that common here either.

Hi, Crystal player here, we definitely exchange gil on the nightclub scene. The only narrative/combat rp I've done has been with friends though, so I can't speak on that. I also, um, don't do erp, so I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes....l
On Crystal, which is the main RP servers for NA, most of the time we also handwave gil, but we do give actual gil sometimes for venues and stuff if they aren't too much. (Even if it isn't required) Like 1k to 2k. Like last night I gave someone 6k because they gave my character 3 things of food, a drink and a random plushie. However, there are jobs you can get where they will pay actual gil. This usually includes venue workers like servers, hosts, tarot readers ect.... or...... other types of work such as erp.... which also can be an extreme amount. In some cases from videos or even advertisements i see, they will so times pay 500k to 3m an hour.
While I found the story til now absolutely hilarious, 8:13 had me crying from laughing and everything hurt since I couldn't breathe anymore xD Very nice job on the story-telling and editing department, the humor has been on-point the entire time! ^^

I remember this event fondly, even if my presense in it was limited. I had raiding stuff happening at the same time when the caravan moved and there were events. I think I had recently, or maybe even the very last week I had cleared P8S. But when it comes to reclearing that fight, there were some troubles. and in general when doing reclearing it's all not so smooth always- Still feels strange and oddly nice to spot myself in several parts

This was SUCH an enjoyable series to watch while I mindlessly healed through roulettes haha! I've been getting into more FFXIV RP and hope to one day have more time (and less shyness) to do something like this. RP (in drawing, D&D, and writing) used to be my every day, but it fell off for a few years because of...-INHALES exhales- adult life :") BUT things have been settling and it's been fun to slowly get myself back in. Your editing is fantastic and I definitely will be checking out the rest of your videos!!
What is this "too much effort" you speak of? Is it eatable? =) Nah, just kidding. ^_^ Fun fact though - that rocket turned out to be a lot easier to animate than I expected. Figuring out how to use Blender was a bit difficult since I've never used it before, but beyond that it was simpler than I expected. The dragon from the first episode was significantly more challenging, for example.

Hey happy you liked it! ^_^ So, much like you suspect, it is mostly a ton of green screens that I use. I use a set of.... tools.... (which I would rather not be too specific about because of the Square Enix ToS) to make green screens of the characters and objects that I need in game, then I edit them together in Adobe Premiere Pro, along with a ton of various effects from Adobe After Effects. I use Blender a tiny bit, specifically for the rocket in this video, but I mostly try to avoid it because I am so inexperienced with it. The vast majority of the editing is done in Premiere Pro & After Effects.

RP communities in the EU servers usually post events and such on a Discord Servers or in Carrds. If memory serves correctly the two biggest ones (that i know of on Light DC) are Aetherveil and Silver Valkyrie Events (SVE for short). So searching for either of them on Google should either link to their Discords or their pages which have Discord links available
Like Neferatih and bethstott already commented, most of these events are organized outside the game itself, usually Discord. This event I happened to hear about on the _FFXIV CHAOS ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY_ server. The event was taking place on the Light data center, but the DMs were advertising it on the Chaos RP servers too, since one can transfer characters between the Chaos and Light data centers fairly easily. Damn Chaotic Netural players man, they're annoying in D&D as well. I also feel for that DM considering that's just like... the normal state of a D&D game. Also, if that player didn't just start swinging like that, I feel like Alexander would have been willing to help you. I don't know about his characterization in 14, but in all of the other FF games, Alexander is a stalwat defender and a being of justice, even having Holy has his element for summons. Cool dude.
@@Ashadow700 Oh yeah, absolutely! Assuming they can play a Chaotic Netural character correctly, then they're extremely helpful when the larty inevitably decides to spend a half hour trying to open a single fucking door. It's nice to have a player that can say "fuck it!" and break the stalemate.
I feel like I could had been a neat addition to the event if I knew about these. It feels a bit hard to find neat RP places without going to sketchy websites, not to mention the limitations of free trial means nobody can get anything from me.
The reason this video doesn't have as many views as the previous one from people finishing up the story started in the first one is because the title and thumbnail makes this video seem unrelated. Like it's something else entirely. You might want to add a parenthesis or new thumbnail or something saying it's Pt 2 of the same story.
Honestly? Depending on what server you are on, I would recommend just finding somebody’s bar venue somewhere and sitting in on whatever they do in there to see if it’s your cup of tea.

Made a balmung character in 2014 and ive yet to find any real RP like this in my 8,000 hours in the game. these days I just get asked for "Mare?" and thats it lol
3:57 I'm currently in free trial and I've in doing rp for some time. Before any exchange happens I always tell that beforehand, because I cannot trade with other people (And I a bar I frequently visit probably has a tab with my name on it 😄). So maybe he was also a free trial player and either he did mentioned it and you weren't there or he didn't?

Rowland Mason here. Generally in rp on light we only pretend to transaction GIL unless there's a rare case of a venue actually asking you to pay. My bad though if I knew real gil was required I would have definitely made it rain gold to treat my injuries 😭

You'll probs never get the gold cus most RP's are pretend, so the other person will pretend to pay you, if you did get your money eventually though that's great i guess.
You know, if you were going to participate in an RP event, a healer is probably the worst job to take as you are completely useless as nobody needs healing in an RP event as the combat is regulated by the DM. You should have just gone DPS, that's what I'd do if I joined an RP event, I'd be a ninja and backstab everyone. XD This is also why healers never make money on RP events, though your wacky adventures seem to be your desperate cry for help. ;p

This was SUCH an enjoyable series to watch while I mindlessly healed through roulettes haha! I've been getting into more FFXIV RP and hope to one day have more time (and less shyness) to do something like this. RP (in drawing, D&D, and writing) used to be my every day, but it fell off for a few years because of...-INHALES exhales- adult life :") BUT things have been settling and it's been fun to slowly get myself back in. Your editing is fantastic and I definitely will be checking out the rest of your videos!!

Nah, just kidding. ^_^ Fun fact though - that rocket turned out to be a lot easier to animate than I expected. Figuring out how to use Blender was a bit difficult since I've never used it before, but beyond that it was simpler than I expected. The dragon from the first episode was significantly more challenging, for example.

So, much like you suspect, it is mostly a ton of green screens that I use. I use a set of.... tools.... (which I would rather not be too specific about because of the Square Enix ToS) to make green screens of the characters and objects that I need in game, then I edit them together in Adobe Premiere Pro, along with a ton of various effects from Adobe After Effects.
I use Blender a tiny bit, specifically for the rocket in this video, but I mostly try to avoid it because I am so inexperienced with it. The vast majority of the editing is done in Premiere Pro & After Effects.

RP communities in the EU servers usually post events and such on a Discord Servers or in Carrds.
If memory serves correctly the two biggest ones (that i know of on Light DC) are Aetherveil and Silver Valkyrie Events (SVE for short).
So searching for either of them on Google should either link to their Discords or their pages which have Discord links available

Look for LRC , Light Role Play community they usually gather there now ^_^
Like Neferatih and bethstott already commented, most of these events are organized outside the game itself, usually Discord. This event I happened to hear about on the _FFXIV CHAOS ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY_ server. The event was taking place on the Light data center, but the DMs were advertising it on the Chaos RP servers too, since one can transfer characters between the Chaos and Light data centers fairly easily.

So, all the models I used in this video are recorded in-game on green screens. The one exception is the rocket, which I rendered in Blender.

Damn Chaotic Netural players man, they're annoying in D&D as well. I also feel for that DM considering that's just like... the normal state of a D&D game.
Also, if that player didn't just start swinging like that, I feel like Alexander would have been willing to help you. I don't know about his characterization in 14, but in all of the other FF games, Alexander is a stalwat defender and a being of justice, even having Holy has his element for summons. Cool dude.

@@Ashadow700 Oh yeah, absolutely! Assuming they can play a Chaotic Netural character correctly, then they're extremely helpful when the larty inevitably decides to spend a half hour trying to open a single fucking door. It's nice to have a player that can say "fuck it!" and break the stalemate.
I feel like I could had been a neat addition to the event if I knew about these. It feels a bit hard to find neat RP places without going to sketchy websites, not to mention the limitations of free trial means nobody can get anything from me.

The reason this video doesn't have as many views as the previous one from people finishing up the story started in the first one is because the title and thumbnail makes this video seem unrelated. Like it's something else entirely. You might want to add a parenthesis or new thumbnail or something saying it's Pt 2 of the same story.

Before any exchange happens I always tell that beforehand, because I cannot trade with other people (And I a bar I frequently visit probably has a tab with my name on it 😄). So maybe he was also a free trial player and either he did mentioned it and you weren't there or he didn't?

Generally in rp on light we only pretend to transaction GIL unless there's a rare case of a venue actually asking you to pay.
My bad though if I knew real gil was required I would have definitely made it rain gold to treat my injuries 😭

You'll probs never get the gold cus most RP's are pretend, so the other person will pretend to pay you, if you did get your money eventually though that's great i guess.
You know, if you were going to participate in an RP event, a healer is probably the worst job to take as you are completely useless as nobody needs healing in an RP event as the combat is regulated by the DM. You should have just gone DPS, that's what I'd do if I joined an RP event, I'd be a ninja and backstab everyone. XD
This is also why healers never make money on RP events, though your wacky adventures seem to be your desperate cry for help. ;p
