My parents' doctors were also creative. They love to paint and they even sold some of their paintings that were at their clinics because some of their patients find it unique and relaxing. When I get the chance to visit their offices, I get to see their paintings and mesmerized just looking at them (until my parents finish their consultations 😆)
As a graduating nursing student (and an aspiring med student), being so busy with acads, i tell myself not to practice playing the piano for now because i still have a lot of things to do or i tell myself not to post on my blog today because i have to finish school works first or even stop myself from practicing calligraphy cos i cant help but feel guilty about doing other things which are actually for myself. After watching this vid, i honestly cried, not because im sad but i just felt that i almost forgot the creative side of me 😔. Thank you doc!!! This video was such an eye opener and an inspiration 💖
Doc Au! This is the 2nd vlog you left me in tears 😭 (1st one was when you talked about siblings and stuff) Anyway, I stopped engaging in extracurricular stuff since I entered medschool bec I promised to myself that there should be no more distractions. I was happy at first but as my level increased it felt that I left something behind. Just when I saw my younger brother dancing for a competition, I felt nostalgic. Dancing has always been my breather when I felt nauseated studying when I was in highschool. Dancing was my go-too hobby when I was heartbroken. Dancing helped me get a scholarship grant during college. Dancing was a part of me until I decided to enter medschool. I thought dancing was a hindrance in my journey to that MD but I was wrong. When I was asked to be a dancer for our school's annual MedBall, I was hesitant at first bec maybe it would waste my time practicing instead of studying or getting enough sleep. But when I accepted the offer it felt like I was a person again. It felt like I time travelled to the year where I can balance my acads and dancing. I was grateful for that offer bec it helped me to go back to the person I used to be. A person who is not only a diligent student but also a creative individual. Thanks you for this remainder Dr.Au. Keep on inspiring future MDs! and God Bless on your Residency! Love lots! 😘

I've been putting off watching this because I knew I was gonna cry. Sometimes pag ayaw ko na magbasa ng transes, I get my guitar and just sing my heart out, or I write short stories, sometimes I sketch. Love you, ate! I aspire to be as accomplished as you one day. ❤️
Phew! I just finished taking the NMAT an hour ago and I was in the process of letting go of my dreams of pursuing the arts. I guess that "first and last painting on canvas before I take the NMAT" would not be the last painting I'll ever make after all. I realized that my doodles and poems need not to die for this goal.
Parati kong iniisip kapag before ako mag-aaral sa med school, liliko na ako palayo sa creative side ko kahit iyon naman ang dominant intelligence ko especially sa school. Tapos ang skills na meron ako kasi dapat kung saan doon naaayon sa pagiging doktor. Pero napapaisip rin ako, hindi pa naman ako mag-me-med school, ba't ipagkakait ang creativeness na meron ako? Lost between being practical and doing things for myself. I am an author and an aspiring doctor, I'm still confused of the things that I really want to do since I'm just 16 years old, but this video made me realize that I can still be an author while achieving one my dreams-to become a doctor. This one is very inspiring! Last sunday, i just had my NMAT at UST. I really want to be a doctor that’s why i really stayed focus on both parts of the exam. I really tried to remember all the concepts, all the tips and tricks that YOU gave me from your channel. Thankyou. Another video, to keep me inspired and motivated of becoming who i want to be and at the same time, of never forgetting what i really am as a person. I like doing slogans on different issues, also, writing poems, short stories, and even just simple essays about anything that comes in my mind! If, and hopefully i pass the nmat. I currently do bullet journals and do creative stuff on my planner when I get the chance. I still get to finish tasks as how I planned it but not all the time. I got to be more focused when I started doing the pomodoro technique kahit di sya ganun ka perfect na ginawa but I am liking it. Hehe.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should pursue a course that is related to art because I do paint, love to draw, write screenplay in a short film, sing and act. Or might also pursue archi because I do love designing naman. Next school yr, I'm a first yr college student and supposedly taking up med. tech as my premed course. However, recently ko lang nalaman na you can actually take up any 4-year course as your premed. I do consider myself as a creative person who also wanted to become a doctor. Any advice Ate Au? :----(
Kahit technically pwede ang architecture na pre-med, magkalayo yan. You can pursue any pre-med course like Biology or Chemistry and minor in English or Creative Writing etcetc maraming paraan. No matter what you career you choose pwede kang mag-express ng creative side mo cos that's a part of you talaga.
@@AuraAzarconI always have been interested to learn about adobe photoshop and similar softwares, because during high school I never had subjects for these softwares, computer and layout, and thankfully Skillshare have crash courses for these. I hope through this I could learn the basics and even complex skills in lay-outing and designs.I also picked classes on traditional arts. Thanks Doc! Med school is so tiring. I lost some grades in 1st term due to allergic rhinitis. Now allergies are under control but syllabus is too much that i feel exhausted after working hard for a while. And also med school appears so toxic when they don't follow the original schedule. I need motivation not to give up : |

@@AuraAzarconI always have been interested to learn about adobe photoshop and similar softwares, because during high school I never had subjects for these softwares, computer and layout, and thankfully Skillshare have crash courses for these. I hope through this I could learn the basics and even complex skills in lay-outing and designs.I also picked classes on traditional arts. Thanks Doc! DokAu im having a hard time deciding my course, i do art like drawing and painting thats why im having doubts if i really want pedia or no wherein i have the interest in both being a pedia and art. Please help.. My mind is having doubts lately if pedia is what i want for me in the future or i really want art and creativity and people just pressure me to pick something besides art

Med school is so tiring. I lost some grades in 1st term due to allergic rhinitis. Now allergies are under control but syllabus is too much that i feel exhausted after working hard for a while. And also med school appears so toxic when they don't follow the original schedule. I need motivation not to give up : |
