  • A similar version that pulls air from under the cooling pad - amzn.to/34IOU7R
    Just the rear fan blower - amzn.to/2VLVMAQ
    *The maker of this cooling pad changed from a full-sized stand to just the fan. It's the same fan just without the whole stand.
    An interesting laptop cooling pad that is surprisingly powerful!
    Video review of a similar but smaller laptop cooler • Powerful, Quiet, and C...
    The high output centrifugal turbine fan laptop cooler moves A LOT of air to cool off even the hottest gaming laptops. The high-quality metal fans is over 7 inches long and sits horizontally in the rear of the cooler leaving the middle open for plenty of airflow. This means you won't have any dead spots of stagnant air that axial fans have.
    Centrifugal fans or blowers tend to be quieter than axial fans and move air at a higher velocity. The high-pressure air will help push more air through the vents on the bottom of your laptop to help cooler it even faster.
    The intake will pull air in through the top and rear of the laptop cooler so placing it on a soft surface like a bed, couch, or your lap will not suffocate it like a lot of other coolers on the market that have the intakes on the bottom.
    Keeping your laptop cool will extend its life and improve its performance. Gaming, video editing, and other CPU intensive activities can really heat up a computer. Some laptops either don't have an internal fan or have a weak fan that can't dissipate fast enough. The worst thing you can do is place your laptop on a soft surface like a bed and completely suffocate the fans. These are all great reasons why a laptop cooler is a great idea.

    I bought one of these for my alienware r4 15". I use the laptop like a desktop tower most of the time. I turn the cooling fan around so it sucks air from the front and blows it to the back of the laptop where the laptop vents are. This helps disapate the hot air around the vemts as well. I leave it on all the time at full speed. Even when the laptop is off. Its not that loud. I havent tested anything with special tools but the laptop nevee slows down game play after 8+ hours of gaming. Ark, rust, WoW, Farcry, etc. So it works good in my opinion. I isually see slow down or lag when a gaming pc is hot over a long period of gaming.

      How do you do that with the power cord sticking out of the back of the fan. Do you mean you turn it around and lay the laptop on top of the fan so its sucking directly from the bottom of the laptop and then blowing out toward the back?

    When you do the smoke test hold it a little further away so the fan can pull the smoke in and out
    Its hard to tell what is doing what as it's so close to the cooler the smoke is being rammed through by the force of the smoke machine. Still appreciate you doing this as no one does.

      That's what I'm thinking too.
      I remember they did similar test on air purifier.
      Anyway.
      What I notice most testers didn't lift their laptop up to get better ventilation from the bottom.

      True, but the percentage of air it pulls from the vents would be very small. Maybe 5% of the air would actually come from the vents, the other 95% would be fresh air. With my laptop cooler on, my internal fan rarely turns on unless I'm watching video or doing some heavy work.

It keeps my Laptop Cooler from 82 Degrees Celsius to 69-72 Degrees Celsius while I am Rendering Video files.

  • @Mehwhatevr

    couldn't find this in China, but I bought something just like it and all I can say is YES!!! this is what I wanted. the other cooling pad I bought would be easily smothered underneath in any application where I needed it and even on a hard surface it seemed to make a negligible difference.
    This type of pad on the other hand. whew. it has three settings. low, medium, and high. I find that in my normal usage. each setting lowers the temp of my laptop by 5C. if I normally run at 60C give or take, this things takes me down to about 40-45. The kind of temperatures I could only get before when on battery and battery saver mode. The intake vents on my inspiron 7590 are underneath and the exhaust is at the screen hinge. It forces air through with such a force I can put my fingers above the exhaust and feel it.
    Moreover, it keeps my keyboard cool. Like before this pad, even if my laptop temps happened to be around 45-50... the left side of my keyboard could still be very hot to the touch.
    the only concern I have is if forcing the air through at such force could damage my laptop fans by spinning them up higher than what was intended and maybe harm them or the motor... Probably an unfounded worry, but just something in the back of my mind. increased fan speed, even if it is because of air being blown across them, could wear them out faster...but this is a Dell Inspiron, I'm pretty sure I can replace the fans more easily than I could the processor/gpu :D
    Also I'm not quite sure how many watts it draws. I read that USB can deliver up to 4500 mW. that seems to fit how much this thing draws when I measure. If so, it could drastically reduce battery life your laptop by a few hours. of course, you could plug it into a portable battery instead my portable battery that I use to charge my phone could probably power the cooling pad for about 6 hours if I found myself in a situation where I needed to use the cooling pad on battery power but didn't want to sacrifice the battery life of my laptop. :)
    such a situation though is probably unlikely. but who knows.

    I have devised the ULTIMATE laptop cooler, I have a patent attorney on it now. Without going into too many specifics {for obvious reasons}, it uses glycol to keep the entire system cool. my laptop gpu fans are on the side , the fan does not cover the side part of the laptop , is it still useful ?

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  7 років тому

      The intake vents are on the bottom right? Laptop coolers mostly help with removing the built up heat under the laptop and battery. Most laptops have vents on the bottom so this should keep not only your GPU cooler but also everything else.

      I was just thinking about that this morning. I mean we have the abilities of intricate machines which go to Mars... why not our laptops also? "Liquid Cooling" would be great and also has an attractive design. Would be a first...

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  6 років тому +1

      It depends a lot on the laptop and how hot it's getting but I'd say around 5 degrees Celsius. Even more, if the bottom of your laptop is metal.

  • @MyIronman8
    @MyIronman8 6 років тому

    Yeah I wonder why they don't make that anymore cuz when your laptop blows air out back it would suck it back in and then there's a recirculating the hot air

    Great review! I've been through many cooling fans but always wanted something much stronger but have never found one as most are built to be quiet. Sadly I have to order from the US as I am unable to find one here in Australia which means that extra markup postage price but it definitely looks like this might be the one.

    Can you use this for Alienware 17? What is the dimension of the middle space?

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  7 років тому

      At the rear of the open area it's 8.75 inches wide and from front to back it's 4.75 inches. I use it on a 17 MSI and it fits good. Nice and sturdy. Moves tons of air over the many vents underneath.

      It blows so much air that you wont feel any of the heat. The heat will be gone like a fart in a hurricane.

  • @steam2135
    @steam2135 6 років тому

    This cooler pulling in air from the back is a moot point. If your using a gaming laptop that vents its hot air out the back then you are pulling warm air into your device.

    I got lucky, they had one in stock at Amazon. Ordered but I'm bit worried that all the air will just straight pass through towards me instead of blowing upwards to cool the laptop. I wish they gave us options to cover the front vent.

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  7 років тому +1

      You can add some tape to block the front vent and force the air up. Even with most of the air coming out the front, a lot still gets forced up from the high volume of air moving underneath your laptop.

      I thought the same amd tested blue painters tape over the bottom slot. It changes the air flow but i didnt notice much difference. I took the tape off. The cooler doesnt blow air into the laptop but cycles fresh air along to bottom so you laptop gets a fresh cooler supply of air.

    Super awesome cooler, the best one, however, I know that there is a kind of cooler which attached on the USB. That kind of cooler is super strong and crazy, it will shorten the life of laptop's fan. Besides, it will worsen the dust situation of laptop's fan. the worst situation can cause the laptop fan stop working. I am not sure if this kind of cooler which just stay on the bottom of laptop would have the same threat

    MAN THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST LAPTOP COOLER REVIEW I'VE WATCHED. Good demonstration of how powerful the air is with that smoke thing. I already bought 2 laptop coolers, a 6fans and single big fan but I feel those aren't powerful enough to cool my gaming laptop down. And I will definitely try this one out 👍
