- So update - MGSV's official soundtrack has released, and this track has an official name: Bloodstained Anthem. That version sounds incredible so go check it out. Thanks again for enjoying this track throughout the past year. Still a favorite, and it's always fun infiltrating the outposts in V to it.

This music is so perfect...like, i'm sprinting from one point to another with Paz over my shoulder, shooting at the enemy as I'm trying to get to the chopper, hearing them call for reinforcements in their panicked voices. This music legit gave me goosebumps. Like I feel heroic as fuck. On some Saving Private Ryan shit. I AM Big Boss. This is what he DOES. You feel me?

Yeah, I always loved ramboing out with Paz as this epic music plays, shooting soldiers and hearing the chopper close in, putting Paz on the chopper, then shooting at enemies as I fly out in the chopper.

This music made the entire process of extracting Paz one of my favorite video game moments, period.
It's a fact.
You can feel the darkness that surrounds the boss and the destruction he brings, be it facing tanks or squadrons of soldiers facing a one-man army. But you can also hear echoes of the hero he once was. One of my favourite tracks, made all the more intense as you sprint past enemy lines with a broken girl on your shoulders..
Think you're looking into it too much. It's just an amazing climatic piece to conclude an hour of quiet stealth.

Well tbh, I don’t think Big Boss ever lost his heroism. It was mainly Venom Snake who became a Demon.
@@alexdeghost2729 Big Boss orchestrated everything that would become of Venom Snake. If Venom snake is a demon, then Big boss is the devil himself- But both characters are still heroic in their own way.
@@Dasistrite nah all of mgs 5 is venom snake having a near death experience as he lay defeated by solid snake. Even gz is just venom's memories transplanted into his subconscious during his coma. We aren't actually playing as big boss. Just like we weren't actually snake during the tanker chapter but Raiden in training.

That blend of urgency, dread, and uncertainty. It's amazing. It's a shame Harry Gregson-Williams didn't work much in TPP because he really provides that emotional punch.
The funniest thing is that the one who wrote this song was Ludwig Forsell, the same guy who wrote the songs for TPP.
Harry Gregson-Williams composed the song that sounds when XOF destroys Mother Base but did not compose any ingame songs.

The great composer trio of Metal Gear, Harry Gregson Williams, Ludvig Forsell and Jamie Christopherson.
Harry Gregson-Williams only made the tracks ‘She’s Rigged’ and ‘The Fall of Motherbase’ - but otherwise he had a mostly supervising role. It’s very noticeable that Harry is first and foremost a ‘classical’ movie composer when you hear the two tracks, compared to Ludvig’s more ‘mood over melody’-style.
Ludvig Forssell was also an in-house composer at Kojima Productions and when he first joined the team, the basic concept of the soundtrack was already in place; the idea was to keep it a non-tonal, non-chordal and percussive score.
And since Kojima loved what Ludvig did with the opening track ‘Ground Zeroes’, he was subsequently made the in-house lead composer. ‘Bloodstained Anthem’ was the first track he made entirely by himself. He just _is_ ridiculously talented, and was also fortunate to have a couple of famous (Japanese) composers from previous MGS games as mentors, before he joined KP.
It’s no wonder that he won an award for best musical score in Death Stranding.
This is final boss worthy music. Just imagine this playing while fighting Sahelanthropus and XOF calling in for reinforcements panicked as all bloody Hell, while you're only backed up by Pequod and maybe Quiet.

Holy shit. Nothing in the world could make you feel like a total badass extracting Paz to this theme blasting in the background. At first I was bummed out that I had caused the alert, but this theme going off when the absolute carnage of everyone trying to stop you made me feel so heroic. Got Paz extracted and it's a memory that has stuck with me after all these years, one I will never forget!

Finally got S-rank on the Ground Zeroes mission today. I've never felt this good completing the mission. Then i get punched in the gut, like always, by the following cutscenes.

I am still so mad about the end of Ground Zero's. I played Peace Walker at various coffee shops recruiting for MSF on my PSP. I spent hours capturing tanks, apcs and helicopters. We built MSF. *I* built it. And they took it all away.

Great stuff, this theme blew me away when I first heard it underneath a combat sequence. It makes you feel so powerful, your actions seem so meaningful with this behind it!
You're just stuck with adrenaline hearing this music. I didn't expect this, either. I wish it was in the Phantom Pain.

It honestly doesn't matter if i'm being sneaky for the rest of the mission, I am always determined to get this music to play to finish the level with a bit of action. Just did it now escaping the base in the truck, got to the furthest point near the LZ, jumped out, soldiers i'd knocked out had gotten back up and I was facing a barrier of marines, I dived to the ground blind firing and managed to knock them down or scatter them, running back to Paz I got her and began to sprint to Morpho! Behind me I could see bullets zipping past us and could hear the sounds of the APC trying to get as close to us as it could. Making one last effort I sprinted to the chopper and put us both on board and got the fuck out.
Amazing.

Escape Theme, Silent But Not Quite and Sins of the Father are the most impressive pieces of music from MGSV.
This sounds alot better than the one from the official soundtrack.

So EPIC I can't get enough of it! I use this during epic portions in my favorite games (i.e.: Cortana in Halo 3, One Shot, One Kill in CoD4, Protocol 10 in Batman: Arkham City, etc.). Makes me feel epic regardless of what I'm playing.

Metal Gear Ground Zero had the best sound track. Much better then in TPP. Maybe its because you finally got to play as the legendary big boss for the last time. Still love this game, play it again from time to time. Wish they made GZ into a more full game.

@@sonicboom126 it doesn't matter if you recently finished the game. I always comeback from time to time to read some other comments (or to simply enjoy the music). Even when in pain or sadness, it feels reassuring knowing that you're not the only one at all.
the fear of leaving the Admin Building, hearing a soldier yell, "Contact!" then hearing this with that damn tank shooting at you while carrying Paz to the LZ.

Way ahead of you on that one man. Ground Zeroes was the shit! The way this music blasted from my speakers as that damn APC began to kick my ass and how every guard was on high alert with fingers on the trigger, and it was all by getting spotted by a single camera. Thanks Kojima.

I honestly extract Paz out of there then go on a killing spree with this song.
A lot of Metal Gear Solid V's (both games) replay-ability has a lot to do with how powerful the soundtrack is and you cannot tell me different.
I remember running to the helicopter with Paz after getting spotted by the soldiers. The tank was chasing after me.
