@@ColinStachowski I discovered this song through your video and I was hoping there'd be a place somewhere on this vast digital space a higher audio quality version would be hiding. Because this song is so killer but it sounds like it was recorded with flip phone
@@ColinStachowski oh yes I should have clarified I was not bashing your content, per usual it is always fantastic! But I totally agree and hope one day that this unreleased stuff will find its way out
I can't let her man recatch me. I can't stop to cry no more. I'm just running down the highway, One jump ahead of the storm. One jump ahead of her crying, One jump ahead of her cold cheating arm. One jump ahead of her lying, One jump ahead of the storm. One day I looked on the horizon, Saw her love just couldn't last. Oh, my mind was torn to pieces. I had to leave and get out fast. And so I slipped out of her power. I saw my chance and I was gone Before the rain could start to falling. One jump ahead of the storm. Chorus I was one jump ahead of the storm. Just one jump ahead of the storm. I was one jump ahead of the storm. Just one jump ahead of the storm. I was one jump ahead of the storm. Just one jump ahead of the storm. I was one jump ahead of the storm. Just one jump ahead of the storm.
I like the Collins produced songs, but I noticed the drums are kind of overpowering on them. Tearing Us Apart is a pretty obvious one. On the studio version, the drums are just too loud.
N1095A Yes, that was pretty typical of most ANYTHING Collins did during this period - - his solo stuff, Genesis, that song by Frida. Anyway, this was one of a bunch of Collins-produced tracks that the record company rejected from "Behind the Sun" -- much to Collins' chagrin. Better than a LOT that stayed on the album. In my Clapton playlist with the rest of the album & outtakes.
Originally recorded by Kiki Dee in 1978, on her "Stay With Me" album. Both versions are in my Clapton playlist. Thanks for the upload!
Like!! Like!! Like!!! Splendid.
Hey, I recognize that man in the yellow jacket! He's a cool dude!

This is a cover of the version by Atlanta, a country group who covered the original Kiki Dee version in the same year.
Awesome track, why's it never come out? It wasn't even on Crossroads.
