    in the UK we call Fries the Thin cut version mormally found in fast food shops, but Chips are a Thicker cut for a softer center and more filling meal

    2:35 Timmy, the full names are : Chips = Chipped Potatoes. Crisps = Crisped Potatoes. Fries doesn't really tell you the ingredient, "chipped potatoes" says exactly what the ingredient is.

    Incase you haven’t found out, to answer your question about when he started yt, his first video was in the time span of 2014-15 which was a large eating challenge followed by a challenge of him to get to the lowest BMI he could, which he ended at 8%

    If you bite the onion ring and it pulls out the whole onion it’s fresh. If you can bite chunks out without that happening it’s processed and usually frozen.

      They could be fresh but they could be well done, if they’re really crispy the onion won’t pull out

      The only reason you pull out the onion is bc they use the outer layers that are harder. That's it. And if that happens it is a BAD onion ring.

      There is a very thin membrane between the layers of an onion. When making onion rings you want to peel this membrane away. This membrane is usually what causes the onion to be pulled out of the batter shell. A clean bite tells you additional work has been done to prep the onions.

      @@juankovacs6033 that may be true but my whole point was frozen processed onion rings are easily noticeable. It’s been blended up and reconstituted. A bad fresh onion ring is still better than frozen.

    In England we still have fries as well as chips, but chips are the thicker ones like in the video, fries is used only for like french fries, and American potato chips we call crisps haha

    You bring up chips/fries, but the one that's more confusing is biscuits/scones/cookies. I've never found an Englishman who can grasp the differences, but any American understands it immediately

    Yo Tim if you want to eat the best cheesecake if your life, the next time you come to NY go check out of Aunts restaurant. It’s a Best Western in West Nyack right before the Tapanze bridge. She’s never lost a cheesecake completion and was voted “best cheesecake in NY”. Not kidding either trust me you will love it!

    Fries are usually thinner so like mcdonalds and places like that, whereas chips are usually thicker that you get in pubs and from chip shops

    FYI, us Brits call fries fries too. Chips are different, they are a lot more chunky and thick cut. Fries are the thin and crispy ones.

    Fried vs Chips in the UK... Usually for us in the UK, chips are the chunkier cut potatoes and fries are the skinny cut potatoes (like you'd get at a fast food place)

    I would classify a "chip" as a thinly cut potato that is fried. So yes, I would consider fries, "chips," but I'm American so I'll continue to call them fries.

    Here in England we have different sizes of "Fries/Chips"
    You have the typical McDonald fries and then you have chips like Fish&Chips

    Chips are usually eaten with chicken or fish, and fries are usually eaten with burgers and other American foods. This question is base over apex. The British have been around a lot longer than the Americans. We call them chips because they are chipped potatoes. Also Americans took fries from the French and made it there own culture in the states

    As a brit myself chips are a lot thicker cut and fries are more thin like your mcdonalds fries.
    I would personally call them chips or fries depending on how they are served.
    Normally have chips with fish or steak and then fries with a burger.

    Especially for thicker steaks, and if they're marbled, medium is best.
    Because you get better fat rendering, it's juicier, whereas with less doneness it can backfire and actually be chewier.
    Medium is king, unless youre talking a really thin steak.
