I'm going to try this for my husband. I cooked so many of your recipes for the Easter holidays. My husband was in food-heaven for days 🤣 greetings from Germany
I love the technique you displayed to create the beautiful layers. I was wondering if lamination with fat or rubbing in the fat would make it easier to get more layers. Thank you very much
Thank you for watching Patience. You don't need baking powder for this recipe. I haven't tried self-rising flour but you can use it and let me know how it turns out.
Hello Mary, I didn't add baking powder as it makes the daddies bready and lose their crunchiness. The detailed recipe link is in the description box below the video.
Yes. You can substitute the zest for your spice of choice. You can put it in the fridge for 2 hours. As long as it has enough time to cool down from the hot water used.
Thank you Fahiim! I would recommend you make them in batches to retain quality. A bag of flour (Azam and the like) is 2kg. This means you can double this recipe to use the whole bag.
Hello Rhonah. First of all thank you for making the daddies. Did you monitor the temperature of the oil because it determines the softness. Make sure your oil isn't too hot when you fry the daddies.
It helps the dough rest so that the flavor is more intense. You don't have to refrigerate it if you dont have a fridge. You can just place it in a cool dry place for about an hour before frying.
Hi Tushabe. This recipe makes about half a kilogram. Follow this link for the written instructions: akitcheninuganda.com/2020/04/16/best-ugandan-daddies-snacks-video/
Hello, thanks for uploading the video. However, I made mine yesterday but didn't refrigerate since I have no fridge. I rested the dough for three hours but after deep frying, the daddies were hard. Is there any way I can get soft ones without refrigerating? Thanks

Where did u get nutmeg I've looked everywhere for it
You can get it in major supermarkets like Capital Shoppers in the spice aisle look for the Tropical Heat brand.
Finally I have found wat I wanted
Hope you try making it 😀
Do i add baking powder or soda
Helloo. Nice tutorials .
But how can I measure the ingredients if I want to do many of them. For example if I'm having 2 packets of floor

No. This recipe doesn't require baking powder
Hello, what's the shelf life of the daddies please?
Hi Rusa! When cooked by following this video, their freshness can last up to 1 month in a sealed container or plastic.
Thanks
Craving this so I had to come back to watch this and making them tonight 🥰😋,
That's so awesome! Let me know how they turned out.
Someone should list for me the requirements such that I may try them.... In the it looks speedy

Hello I can't access vanilla is there any substitute or I can do away with it. Thanks
Hello Margret. You can substitute vanilla for lemon zest or any other flavoring you have access to.
Hey, I used your recipe but the daddies weren't so soft as I wanted them to be but the layers formed. So what should I use to make them so soft
Hello Rhonah. First of all thank you for making the daddies. Did you monitor the temperature of the oil because it determines the softness. Make sure your oil isn't too hot when you fry the daddies.
Use butter and eggs instead of water
Put enough cooking oil
Can't I skip the refrigerator part n just fry them that same day
Yes you can but you will have to let them rest a bit in a cool place for about an hour.
Am asking how much sugar can I boil I one packet of flour
Thank you for watching. Here is the link to the full recipe: akitcheninuganda.com/2020/04/16/best-ugandan-daddies-snacks-video/
Thank u dear but I really don't understand water u mixed on them it will be better to write for us ❤
The link to the written recipe is in the description box.
thank you, qtn, why is it necessary to refrigerate?
It helps the dough rest so that the flavor is more intense. You don't have to refrigerate it if you dont have a fridge. You can just place it in a cool dry place for about an hour before frying.
Can I used maize flour
Maize flour will not have the same results.
You dont put baking powder in the flour?
No. Baking flour make the daddies soft.
And pillowy like mandazi
Can you please tell me the whole recipe
The link to the recipe is in the description box.
What is a computer
Merry Xmas ba dia
Same to you too💕💕
What if I don't have freege to keep it for next day ?
Keep it in a cool place where it can stay firm and not melt/soften. Hope this helps.
But for us we don't freeze it. We fry immediately after mixing
That is fine also. But if you want them to be more crunchy, then I recommend keeping the dough in a cool place for some time.
I would want a link of recipe, mine was too hard and lyk mandazi
The link to the written recipe is in the description box
Why don't we add baking powder
Baking powder helps dough rise so if we put it, it will affect the crunchiness of the daddies.
Want yo make half kg can i know exact measurements plz
Hi Tushabe. This recipe makes about half a kilogram. Follow this link for the written instructions: akitcheninuganda.com/2020/04/16/best-ugandan-daddies-snacks-video/

Can u make for students ?
Yes, you can if you triple the recipe.
Have you put bakingpowder really?
Hi Edith. No. I didn't put any baking powder.
Thanks
What do I do if I don't have a fridge for over night refrigeration
You can leave it in a cool dry place overnight. Somewhere cool enough for the dough to stay firm.

How do.you regulate the same temperature for oil ??
Don't over crowd the pan and allow for the oil to get hot before adding a fresh batch of bagiya paste.
You don't put baking powder and eggs?
No. I did not. Just sugar and milk and the results are amazing! The link to the written recipe is in the description box.
ooh nice one,lets interact
Hello, thanks for uploading the video. However, I made mine yesterday but didn't refrigerate since I have no fridge. I rested the dough for three hours but after deep frying, the daddies were hard. Is there any way I can get soft ones without refrigerating? Thanks
Make sure you keep them in a cool place. Also monitor the oil temperature. It should not be too hot.
No baking powder?
Hi Katz, I don't add baking powder. They are still soft and crunchy like biscuits though!
How comes there is no baking powder
Baking powder prevents the daddies from being crunchy and flaky. So I don't use it.
Wooow
Pls tell us about the measurement of Ingredients

Sugar
Nut meg
Powdered milk
Water
Vanilla
Flour
Salt
Lemon zest
Trying but still too soft
There could be a lot of reasons for this. Check the temperature of the oil and the consistency of the dough.
How can I re soften them when they’re so hard they feel like they can crack my teeth
a scam
Nice but tooooo hard
Thank you for watching Faridah. What is hard? The daddies or the process? You will be surprised at how soft they are. Have you tried them?
No need of eggs
No. you don't need eggs to make this version.

Where did u get nutmeg I've looked everywhere for it
