At the time I watched this video, there's an active grain bin rescue in progress at a neighboring farm. The timing of this video has to be something special. Prayers to all involved
Being a racer you will appreciate this story . Years ago (70's) my older brother was in a tight 3 way fight for Cadet ( 302 ci.max, 2 bbl class). Every week the guy in 2nd place parked next to us and came over to "borrow " stuff from us ( bolts and nuts , TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE , etc. )- every week ! A few pounds difference in tire pressure could make a big difference in handling of race car , so after a few weeks of being a good "neighbor" I came up with an idea . We used several new , consistent gauges but I had 1 old ,pencil gauge with an aluminum indicator that showed the pressure - after a little , slight bend 20 lbs.was a far as the indicator would come out ! That was the gauge they were allowed to borrow every week - to set their pressure to 26 lbs ! Took them about 3 weeks to buy their own gauge !
Reminds me of the scene in Ford vs Ferrari where the Ford pit team place a bolt in Ferrari's pit lane and watch them freak out over where it came from.
A friend told me where they had a training in repairing weapons, he went around and through some extra parts in the competitors parts boxes. Got really funny as some parts where still there and they where checking, reassemble everything again and trying to figure out where they messed up.
My dad mentioned something about grain bin rescue that has always stuck with me. Since rural fire departments are usually volunteer, there's probably a pretty good chance that they know the person they're getting called out for on an entrapment call.
My dad was a teacher in a town with population roughly 1000 or so, and there was a bad bus crash one year. Many students were injured and killed, and the worse part about it all was the firefighters and first responders called out were mostly parent of the kids in the crash.
Hey Zach, there was a successful grain bin rescue in my area today! The farmer was very lucky because the first guys on scene weren't trained properly and almost cut open the bin. 😥 So thankful some people with knowledge showed up and got him out.
Grain bin safety is extremely important! My dad who lost his footing while outside at the top of the bin and fell to his death. It was one of the most difficult times of my family's life.
I don't farm and I've never touched a piece of farming equipment in my life but I still love watching these videos. Zach is a big goof, always throwing out the dad jokes 😂 but on a serious note the grain bin safety fundraiser is so awesome. I love that hes using his platform for something more than just attention and fame. Those kids have a great role model. Showing them to care for others is definitely something kids lack these days.
Thanks Zach! Please take some time to educate non farmers why drainage tile saves the day in a year like this. You get in the field earlier, roots go deeper, and with some tillage, the soils warms, become plantable, and more drought resistant with deep roots. Have a great, safe, spring.
Oh yeah, The release timing is perfect, I get to be an internet farmer while eating my food, conveniently provided by real farmers, re-enacted by actors like this. :)
Keep these coming. We almost bought a farm in Villard many moons ago, due to medical problems it turned out to be good that we didn't get it, but at least I'm an farm vicariously through your videos.
Unrelated note…kinda. I didn’t know there was an Alexandria, MN. But there is a USS Alexandria, a LA class submarine, homeported in San Diego. She is named after Alexandria, LA and VA. But I’m sure if anyone in MN was to contact the boat I think they would gladly add your fine town to the sponsor list.
Zach, I hear that you have the same birds that we do in southwestern IN certain times during the year. Don’t you just love how they decorate everything that sits outside.
Hello I am a 70 year old farmer from Alberta CANADA have watching you since you started and enjoying it Can relate to many things that happening your life as we have a family farm. Your work to raise funds for the local rescue and fire departments is a great cause I only caution you about using go fund me after the things that they did to the freedom convoy by taking millions of dollars of donations and saying they were going to give them to another charity .Be careful of snakes they come in shapes and sizes. Keep up the good work we will be watching
Always put a blast of air into tyre and valve before using gauges as a small speck of dust in valve will cause issues with gauges to become ( sticky ) as when you put gauge on valve any dust in valve body will end up being shot into gauge when you connect it and eventually jam it up ( sticky ) . Ive had the same Dunlop one for 20 yrs and still reads accurate .
Had a bin entrapment happen to 3 young people in my hometown in Illinois about 10 years ago. 1 survived. They had to call equipment up from Moline/Rock Island to cut into and crane up to the spot in the silo.
thank you for doing the grain bin safety thing last fall, our local fire department got some funds and I believe the equipment/training they got saved someone local. sad to hear someone got in that situation but glad they got them out safe.
I love that you donate to fire departments we just got our grain rescue equipment a few years ago I pray we never have to use it, but it's a vital piece of equipment to have.
Last fall when I was doing my Logging Heavy Equipment training through my community college the only grease we allowed on the worksite was high temp, that way we wouldn’t accidentally put regular grease in the hot saw blade bearings.
Hey Zach, we run the quadratouch on our dryer which is the same as yours and it makes it so simple to run. Also, we enclosed our blower with a small building with one window and a screen door then spray foamed it. Can’t hear it at all over the dryer fans running. Just crack the window and the window on the door and it gets plenty of air 👍🏼👍🏼
Zach you do a awesome job in the bin project to help the fire departments, I had a brother in law who worked for a elevator in Welcome MN and was there electrician and he went into a 200,000 bu bin plus cuz of something and then the corn started flowing again and he had another guy with him and he was getting sucked to the center of the bin and the other guy got out of the bin and down to the ground to shut the switch off and the fire department was called and got him out but his boots got sucked off his feet and they came out through the auger almost lost him, but Thankyou for promoting bin safety, you are a great asset to Agriculture.
Pro tip for a gauge like the Blu Point: put a quick connect at the end of the hose so you can swap tire chucks. I have a straight nose for semi's, an angled one for other styles, a locking angled clip on for big tires, and a straight collar style locking one for trucks. The female air q/c coupler goes on the end of the gauge hose, and each tire chuck gets a male q/c fitting on it. This also makes it so that if you are filling up a big tire, you can put the locking chuck directly on the end of the air hose instead of having to stand there and squeeze the lever, or you can pop it on the gauge for fine adjustment. Two other accessories I have; A 10 inch long 1/4 inch pipe nipple with a female q/c connector on one end, and a Tee with a plug in the side port on the other end, and then a male q/c fitting in the end. The Tee acts as a handle, and then you put the proper tire chuck on the end. This is amazing for getting into the deep valves, or the ones where you have to hold the chuck at EXACTLY the right angle while pulling hard, and having the extra leverage and length allows you to stand comfortably next to the wheel, instead of contorted inside the rim. The other trick piece is an adjustable pressure regulator, the type used on air nailers or your lube pumps, with a q/c fitting on both ends, so for tractor tires etc you can set the desired pressure and walk away as it fills.
Zach your so much more than a just farmer you are doing things to help Better your Community your always pushing important issues inside the farming community and beyond great work as always!!
Zach. It is great that you are doing another campaign about grain bin safety, thank you for your efforts on this front, I know you guys a a tragedy near you last year and it hurts worse when it is close to home.
You and your family are just awesome people in my opinion for always stepping up to try to help make this world a little better place. You guys are most definitely setting a great example of how to treat others so thank you! As always thanks for sharing the videos with us all as well and blessings to you and your family.
At 1:16 that reminded me of when I was a kid riding in the lawn cart we had with my dad towing me around in our old 80's John deere tractor thank you for that.
Great job last year and thanks for bringing it back again . You guys should be proud of yourself small communities need this type of support . Zach you do a amazing job at this channel thank you and hope you have a great crop year . Hope the music concert does well .
You guys are killing it, let the season begin! I just finished some planting tonight, almost 3am I think it's time to ZZZzzZZzZZZzzzz... Looking forward to the next video. Props to you two for fighting the urge to pick rocks, I know how that goes. Compaction's a no-no after all.
Some pneumatic oil in those tire pressure gauges could help. In our factory, the pneumatic cylinders have a hard time working in colder weather. A little bit of oil in the hole could be the trick.
Still remember the live video of you guys doing that fundraiser. Kept watching the dollars come and was amazed. Nice job on all that, should be proud of what you and Randy did that night.
When your dad said will it start, i knew you would be pulling the rope lol. Since the video where your dad and Jim were giving a hint which, which really meant Zach, go do that, i get a lot of laughs. You guy's all do great work. God bless.
I miss working with my dad on stuff like this. You're dad reminds me of that same kind of go get it attitude, tough guy, hard worker, and probably a pretty amazing guy. When it's planting spring season it's go time, I get it and completely understand. I just miss doing that kinda work.
Good to see Father MF is getting around well after knee surgeries. Enjoying all the videos.Southeastern Wisconsin has finally received enough moisture to get us out of drought classification.
A few years ago my cousins cousin on the other side raised a bunch of money for rescue tubes for every department in the county then a couple years after that one of my friends who works at the elevator needed it so it was a good thing we got them
Watching from Wisconsin we definitely need some of that grain bin rescue equipment over here and that concert sounds really interesting though I'm gonna do some planning see if I can make it hopefully I can run into ya
For a winter maintenance program Zach should try watching Larson farms.. All that should be done bye now... but I guess, parking the lawn mower is asking too much 🤣
Unlike a lot of people you actually check tire pressure, grease daily and do every other type of menial maintenance. I applaud your work ethic. Greetings from LA. (Lower Alabama).
You guys and girls are what make America go around the right way all donations that's solid solid thing to do thanks for being human beings like you guys are love you guys's videos and watching for years
About those air gauges: I wonder what country they were made in? 🤔 And, remember . . . the reason they’re like that is ‘cause of the way they are. 👍🙏🏻😁🇺🇸🌽
I got sick of messing with gauges, so I broke down and bought a Matco tools digital inflator, guaranteed accuracy. Was told it's the 1 used by most race car teams, and the price reflected it. Other note, curious if my new boss would let me take a couple days off to go to that concert
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Good to see your dad. Very humble person and hard working and pleasure to be around. Good to see you dad!!!! Wonderful Zach you have your dad to farm with. Zach and family. Congratulations to you all for supporting the grain bin safety program again. The last one was very successful. Doings like this one will be great with the entertainment and everything. Great that you are supporting this important safety project. Fields are a bit wet yet. Your dad thought it was ready to go but once into the field not quite yet. That spring time for you. Get the rock picket going soon. Another project out of the way. Planting season can’t be too far off. Be here before you know it. Will be interesting to see the updates to your dryer system. Your bin system company is a good one. Headquarters is here in Iowa. Family operation. Been on tours of their operation. Super. Tire air level equipment. Never ending project. Do understand. Just saying. About it for now. Will finally be quiet. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Zach. Thanks to Becky for editing. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Wish we would get some sunshine here in Missouri. It was overcast with a high of 54 yesterday. Today, it is 52. Started overcast, but now it is raining. Wonder if it is going to quit long enough for the fields to dry out some. Looks like a late planting.
Regarding the air gauges, pick one and hit the tire. If it bounces, you got enough air. A dull thud, you need air. On racing, go as fast as you can, straight ahead. When you get to a curve, turn left. Remember, to go left fast, you have to turn right.
I guess I'm a "livestock guy", I have 18 angus. This evening I trimmed around the fences, came home and took a hot shower and remembered I forgot to turn the fence back on. Threw on some shorts, a hoodie and tennis shoes and went to barn. Found out a cow had gotten out. We got her back in. Not much trouble. Luckily the 17 others never got out. I wasn't quite dressed for that. LOL. So yeah, sometimes we have it bad.
We would lay a towel over part of the engine bay... Kept the other folks busy while we napped in the shade...no one ever tried to look under the towel, or ask...
Here’s to a bountiful 2022 rock harvest!
Wow , over 33,000 donated all ready ..EXCELLENT
At the time I watched this video, there's an active grain bin rescue in progress at a neighboring farm. The timing of this video has to be something special. Prayers to all involved
Praying for positive results
Praying all went well.

"It worked, I checked it. It was 28 pounds and it says to run a max of 24, so we're good" That made me giggle like a child

Nice to see you are again promoting grain bin safety. Very good cause.
I really thought you were going say haw yeah when he lined that ball up.
Thank you for all of your help with the fire departments!
Some people take some people give. The thumbnail draws you in the ending melts your heart. Damn fine folks.
Thanks Zack
your father is a Legend, he is such a humble man. long way to go you millennial...
You made me teary eyed with the announcement at the end! As a farmboy I SINCERELY APPRECIATE everything that you do for our community 🙏
Farm safety is so important. We just lost two fine men to a trench cave in at their new pole barn. Thanks for doing your part in helping save lives.

It's hard not to get antsy when the calender clicks into may. God bless you all and have a safe planting season

only way i know is to strip down and clean . although never done it myself.
You may consider letting some air out before checking the pressure to get some of the dust and dirt out.
"tyre"? You meant tires?
@@deadghost1964UK and US english, like neighbour neighbor, colour color , tyre tire etc.

I like the digital tire pressure gauges. always worked for me and I've dropped them tons of times.
Wow Zach they are getting old fast enjoy the times!!!!!!!
And a month after that, it is time for WE Fest. Lots going on in Central and West Central Mn in the summertime.
