Fancy editing doesn’t produce good artists...fancy fundamentals do!

I feel like we as artists should all wear gloves so you do not get greasy hands in a drawing session and get the paper wet or the screen wet

This is the most crucial step. No matter how many things you learn, if you don't learn this first basic fundamental you won't get anywhere.
It's probably the most boring, but the most necessary, and you'll be falling back on it constantly.
I really wish I did this when I started out.

Yes I also wish I did this when I started. Thats the reason why the students in FZD school get so good fast, heavy focus on core fundamental.

It's take a bit to get used to. Filling a page with lines & circles helped me get better control. Doing these while holding the pencil at different points can help with drawing loose or tight.
Like most things in art it doesn't work for everyone but I hope it helps for you.

Breaking stuff like this down really helped! I’m just getting back into drawing and it’s been making me happy :). I just wanna take more time now and get good at drawing stuff from my head. I usually just see stuff that I like or picture and just draw it out. Not tracing but it’s still copying and it adds frustration since I’m trying to replicate some parts exactly as I go :(. Really need a new mindset coming back into this 😤😤😤

I recognise those hema pens, i use them for writing. didn't know they came in colors other than black.
they're really good though, after using fine-liners i can never go back to ballpoint. And they're so cheap too, i think i got a twelve pack for a few euros and they've lasted more than a year so far. And most of the losses is from losing them rather than them running dry.

Want to know how to get even better?
*•Stop following the exact step the tutorial said and try to understand it instead.* Lot of ppl Draws stuff especially Proportions like tutorial they saw on YT but they didn't even know the function is. Their proportion is still messed up.
*•Draw Even more.* If you just saw a whole bunch of reference and tutors but you never actually used them to learn and try drawing them, don't get your hopes too high and said " _Why am I not Growing?_ "
*•Get a fking rest.* Doesn't matter how hard you tried, if you can't find a way around it after hours of trying, just give it a rest and try again tomorrow. Your brain needs time to adapt and grow the skills you learned, and getting enough sleep is a way to help your brain grows.
*•Training.* Even if you got some godly tier imaginations but if you never even tried to draw, drawing your imagination would be pretty much Impossible. That's just how human muscle and brain works.
that's the same reason why most kids is not that great at drawing

Everyone traced references at some point in their development but some people outgrew tracing.
Personally I would rather grow up than remain in a perpetual larval stage.
