I had a very strange experience talking with an ex about drawing from imagination...she could knock out almost photo-realistic pencil sketches , but only with a reference photo, like a human photocopier...looked at me doing much more simplistic but almost entirely imagined comic doodles like it was witchcraft
When i did art lessons after school for a few years, my teacher just made me copy artworks and do them exactly like the photos she gave us. I got good at it and when I went ahead to do my own work I was like wtf how do I start. Thanks for making this video
Hey Kesh, I'm an artist who is starting to share your art, and I just want to thank you for these videos, they are really helpful and you just earned a subscriber ❤
yeah i tried drawing from my imagination basically as of writing this comment it was yesterday and i must say that for a guy who just started drawing it looks pretty dope. i just don't know how i did that but i did it. one could say basically with little to zero experience. that's pretty crazy to me. maybe because it was just a simple anthropomorphic cartoon character that just came to my mind.
I have a very vivid imagination but it’s hard for me to decide mentally on what I want so yes I can visualize very well but that doesn’t mean I can draw what I imagine and I don’t think I could even if I did have an imagination that wasn’t always shifting, thanks for making this video it gave me a new perspective
I can picture anything and see visions in my life. It’s overwhelming at times I try not to think of it. Only 3 people called it out so I’m lucky. I don’t like being noticed but this is just the internet so. Ya I picture a dragon and it’s nowhere maybe created from many images of others since everything is connected but ya sucks I doubt I will ever see it on paper. My very first drawing after the shapes thing connected and I had a moment where I saw shapes in everything it was micky mouse and I took a picture. I have low motivation and while I understand it now…, ya I’m not drawing for weeks just to get better. I’d rather keep taking photos because I’d rather put everything in one bag. But I like writing and side creating to motivate myself to take more pictures
Each of us has our own artistic skills and preferences.Don't discourage, but, encourage. You have been a struggling artist before,I presumed.Just let others do what makes them happy with their art strategies, anything related to being artistic.Clear?

KESH, I WISH YOU WERE MY ART TEACHER❣️ I am a beginner artist and a beginner piano player (pianist). It is a struggle, especially when struggling with depression and anxiety ⚖️🌪💔🎨😭🎵🎶🎹
Its great you're learning piano. It can definitely be hard. And that's why it will be worth it. Keep it going! And the channel is here to help you learn:)
6 semesters of drawing studio classes I feel like I have learned all the basic principles, still life, portrait ,landscape but the thing is I feel so blank when I try to draw from Imagination, I can not draw from imagination from anymore 😢
I'm SO envious of people who can draw exactly what they see. I get so annoyed when I see videos like these, lol. Every time I tit down to create a perfect copy, my imagination demands input. I've never been able to create an accurate likeness because I can help but add flourishes. It's so difficult to ignore that part of myself. Any advice for those of us with the opposite problem? How do I turn my imagination off & only consientrate on what I see?
The under 2 minute version There's nothing wrong with using reference to fully flesh out the idea in your head, something can't be created from nothing and if you only use your minds eye certain details just won't be there because we lack a complete visual library based on our own experiences in life (we can't all be jung gi)
Your videos really help me out and I want to thankyou for that I found your channel recently and I just wanted to say that YOUR NAME IS KESHAV RIGHT If there is any way you are reading this pls reply to it so i knew i was right pls
Ya I really want to draw little things though. Like an easy dragon…. But I don’t wanna copy I want to hear someone talk about drawing in a in depth detail so I can draw something easy. I didn’t learn to draw by watching a copying. Shapes are in everything and one day I saw it then I drew Mickey Mouse my first drawing that took 30 minutes. I didn’t look at the picture I listened. So I’m assuming this isn’t the natural way of learning? I want to hear so I can draw. I get fustrated in copying without ya. also I don’t believe in it but hopefully that doesn’t go against everything being connected. I guess if you look at an item you can see the shapes inside… ya I need to ask myself questions and keep engaged. I knew when younger I couldn’t copy a drawing so I gave up. I take pictures and ya set the settings and I hear things.
Ya no one will probably read this anyway but ya last time I heard about the sun. I never thought I’d understand that. I heard questions like “ where is the sun?” I’d say behind me. And then “ where is your shadow?” And I’d look and see it in front of me. And it kept happening and I never ever thought to see and look. It’s been years but the more I take pics the more questions I hear. I will hear “ look at this” and sometimes I won’t understand till months later but I take the picture anyway. No idea if I’m sopossed to share this but I vent about earth a lot. I’m just frustrated. I don’t really learn anything from anyone. But that’s probably a lie. no everything is connected and ya if I buy a toy dragon…. And see the shapes. ya I give up a lot.

oh.
Hehe actually I always thought this. Ya. It’s not the same and no such thing as better art. There’s just different things
Also this is a perfect example of how everything is connected. No such thing as making a brand new thing without using inspiration from others

what's also crazy is that some people can imagine things vividly whilst others struggle to picture anything at all (I'm the second one)
Yeah, Aphantasia. I have it as well.

You can though…they are very similar.
