The officers actually went to prison because of the videos that showed what happened after the guy was cuffed and passed out. You know, the videos showing one officet kneeling on the handcuffed suspect's right carotid artery and compressing the left carotid into the pavement with sustained pressure for multiple minutes after the handcuffed suspect went limp and passed out. And the officer's hands were in his own pockets the whole time demonstrating that there was no threat from the suspect. And the videos capture a crowd of people begging all the officers to check the man's pulse and a jiu jitsu practicioner who correctly narrated the passing out and death from right behind the camera. I'm a white conservative but I'm also a BJJ black belt and I promise you: you watch that video with any other seasoned Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and they'll tell you the same thing.
The other cops went to jail because they successfully prevented all the common sense bystanders from stopping that officer from murdering that man right there on camera. And ignored them begging for his life.
And people marched and caused all sorts of hell because stupid people still think that videos like this justify murdering that unfortunate punk. It's what happened after the suspect passed out that counts, not what happened before the murderer arrived on scene.

@@craigcaradineful while it maybe doesnt fit the the definition of "murder" I think its pretty clear that the force used was unreasonable and took a mans life. I don't think anyone is arguing that Floyd was a saint, but officers have a duty of care (or at least they should). The force used on him was not reasonable, he was in handcuffs, he was in custody. While it may not be "murder" which would require premeditation, it certainly was an unreasonable and unnecessary death, so manslaughter at the very least, but it was cold and callous I watched the trial with all of the body cam video, you dont just accidentally kneel on a man and then when he stops moving continue the restraint. A small child knows you cant choke people.

And the bystanders are yelling how they killed him..... pretty sure that was as the video that matters. Watch that video any seasoned BJJ practitioner and they'll tell you the same thing: This was like watching someone put on a rear naked choke and refuse to let go after the guy passes out until the guy dies. Give a source that cites his o2 autopsy levels were at the level of somebody who was not suffocated, and provide me some alternative footage. Not 13 seconds of a guy having a gun pointed in his face and not knowing if he should have his hands up or on the wheel. The officer is yelling at him instead of trying to de-escalate the situation. George is obviously already agitated. You are acting like a bully, and so is the cop. He was obviously killed by the officer's knee and the location of knee placement. It's not just oxygen that is required to die from pressure on your neck. Go watch the original full clip. Understand the hostility the officer is showing. Understand the fear that is being felt by George and onlookers. Go take a look at how George died, and then tell me his breathing wasn't impaired in any way as he tries to breathe through his fingertips and can hardly gasp that "I can't breathe". His last words, his name, have been dragged through the dirt. Drugs aside... don't get me started about Big P. People use him as some sort of shield they can use to go out and commit horrible actions in their own vandalism, then continue to blame their actions on somebody else. It's insane. You must be living in an alternative universe than me. Either that or you really should try basing what you say on more solid information and common sense, and maybe some humanity too for good measure.

George Floyd was acting irate---at the age of forty-seven. A middle aged man instantly started acting like a toddler instead of an adult before he ever left his own vehicle.
George's "friend" who was in the car would not even testify for fear of getting in trouble for the drugs that were found. George's autopsy revealed no sign that the cops had used excessive force and showed that there was an abundance of hard drugs in his system and that he had at least one artery that was 75% blocked. His friend even yelled "You're going to have a heart attack" to him while George was throwing his tantrum.
People were allowed to mvrder and vandalize to the tune of billions of dollars worth of damage, and on top of that, George Floyd's family received twenty-seven million dollars. FOR WHAT?
George Floyd does NOT appear to have been mvrdered by Chauvin. Chauvin, and all the lives and property destroyed in the "didn't do nuffin'" summer of love, appear to be sacrifices to the god of "white man bad."

But here's the thing, the truth comes out and who's going to pay? BLM? The FBI? The city? No. We're paying for it. It ripped our country apart. Again! @@kashanti1I'll explain, so you can stop this bullshit narrative. I'm a BJJ black belt. One of the positions in BJJ is called "knee on belly". It's the same position that Chavin had on Floyd, except he was farther up on the neck. The thing people like you don't understand is that you can regulate the pressure you're putting on the person on the bottom. You're assuming Chavin had his full weight on Floyd. Only Chauvin knows. No one else. But the point is you whiny liberals don't have the expertise to know this and you assume his full weight was on. He can easily regulate the pressure so it's just enough to hold him down but not injjure him. You got your answer, now be a good liberal and come back with a red herring or strawman fallacy.

This has interesting parallels to a case here in Scotland back in 2015, where a black man died after being restrained by police. At the time the police were vilified for their actions, killing an innocent man. When the truth came out after a public enquiry, what had actually transpired was that he spent the night and morning on a cocktail of drugs including MDMA. He left to go home and got into a fight with a friend who fled the scene, at which point this poor innocent man grabbed a large kitchen knife and started wandering the streets, threatening people and trying to force his way into cars. When the police arrived, he assaulted a female officer, knocked her to the ground and continued to assault her as she lay unconscious. eventually he was restrained, lost consciousness and was given CPR while an ambulance was called (the hospital was approximately 3 minutes from the site of the incident). He died later that day. The police officers involved were subjected to abuse because the man died, but it was only when the truth came out that attitudes started to change. Some people STILL believe he did no wrong despite this.

By the time the true picture was revealed - the "public consciousness" had already been seeded - and matured - with the "Floyd was a granny loving saint that would never hurt a fly picked on by racist cops" version.
The fact the fecker was off his head on drugs, had a long history of violent crime, was in process of committing another, had threatened the stor owner ... ahd driven his vehicle in an "off his head state" to the risk of everyone else on the road, lied and played the police attempting to arrest him, and dies of his drug overdose and NOT becasue he was choked ... all irrelevant ... the race baiters of the US and US media had already got their victim.
Legally - manslaughter was the highest possible charge (even if proven) as there was ZERO indication there had been any intent to kill ... indeed, the bodycam suggested exactly the opposite.
