Holly shit i can't believe it. That's the first ambient black metal reaction i've seen on youtube outside of the BM youtube I really appreciate you doing this for us in the extreme metal corner. I know you got a long reach so it's pretty cool that more people are experiencing this journey with you.
It is songs like this that reminds me that black metal is actually a very beautiful genre if you take a moment to dig through it. I just wish more people were more willing to actually listen past their preconceptions of black metal. Deafheaven’s Sunbather album and I, Pallbearer by Harakiri for the Sky are also examples of beautiful black metal pieces
they are definitely black metal lol, just because they don't sound like mayhem doesn't mean they aren't. if you actually care their genre is generally defined as "post-black metal/post-punk"
I was gonna suggest a bunch of songs but then i realized you should take this journey to wherever you wanna take it. Whether it be ambient black metal, black gaze, war metal, dungeon synth, atmospheric black metal, you do you, i'm just glad to see it,
Glad that you got to this kind of black metal. This is the only album of the band and it's lead by an intersting buy named Neige who worked on a lot of bands to create this unique malancolic beauty feeling and he is one of the main figure who create this new wave of black metal (who's got a lot of bands now) in the last 2000s early 2010s. In the same vibe i recommand you Alcest - Percée de lumière (his main band) and Woods of Desolation - The Inevitable End
Kudos for being the only one reacting to this band in youtube. They're rly something special, ik its been years since you uploaded this but I hope you checked the rest of the album because its just a masterpiece. And the lyrics are very deep, something about the french language makes it so poetic and beautiful at the same time, even tho they talk about rly depressing dark stuff about urbanization.
Yeah this whole album slaps man. It's also the only full album they ever released, aside from like 1 three song ep. I love the whole post punk meets black metal thing they had going. Catch more from the artists involved in this project in Alcest.
Any chance you will react to more songs similar to this? Alcest Souvenirs D'un autre Monde would be so so interesting. (It is the song that made this genre take off after Amesoeurs started it.)
My first choice when it comes down to black metal, also from France, would have to be Deathspell Omega. Once I got hold of "Fas........" about two years after release but was Terrorizer magazines pick for album of the year it was still on my radar, nevertheless, after DSO it's hard to even use the term "black metal" applied to any other band. They absolutely crush just about everything else. Nobody knows who the fuck they are, aside from the singer doing a couple of interviews where his name was there and the lyrical content is absolutely brilliant. It's like some kind of scripture about mankind's role in the battle of who will be Lord when it's all said and done. If you really want to know what you already kind of know, everything from the album "Kenos" onward is pretty hard to fuck with.
Hello greetings from the Netherlands :) Wil give you a smal list. Check them out please. Dissection - Night's Blood Summoning - Khazad-Dûm Carpathian Forest - Shut Up, There Is No Excuse To Live Thy Light - and i finally reached my end Wolves In The Throne Room - I Will Lay Down My Bones Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger
it's difficult to suggest anything in blackmetal, it's a thing you have to get yourself into i think. i could say listen to dissection and watain, as they are my favourites. blackmetal is very diverse in itself.
Black metal, mjeeee. Post-black metal or blackgaze more like. Different beast all together, mixing in shoegaze and post-punk and all that. Not bad though

Yeah this isn't black metal....
Calling Deafheaven and Harakiri for the Sky Black Metal is like calling My Chemical Romance Death Metal.
@@FuckUA-camAndGoogle they are literally black metal tho, maybe not the stereotypical Trve Norwegian black metal, but they are still black metal.
@@gavatronthegreat4714 They are literally post-rock/emo shoegaze bands. Not even slightly Black Metal.
