How to install the Arctic Freezer 36 A-RGB CPU cooler on the AMD AM4 and AM5 sockets.
This is a pretty easy install for both sockets and will need a phillips PH2 screwdriver or similar, also for AM5 you might want to consider a silicon paste guard

We will show how to daisy chain the ARGB and PWM cables into one header to make wiring easier, and also some tips to make the cooler easier to install the first time with equal mounting pressure.

Just installed the black version this weekend on an Intel board with the LGA1700 socket, it has the contact frame included and was a breeze to install, absolutely love the way the fans attach and keeping an I5 frosty and whisper quiet!
You can take the screws out of those fans and attach to any fans the same size - genius!
Absolute bargain for 20 quid!

Like the look of the cooler setup. As the fans do not have adjustment for height I assume they dont overlap Ram sticks. Great price and nice to see white unit with white cables. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath , look forward to performance review 🐈👍
ram clearance is excellent so there shouldn't be the need for vertical adjustment. but that is a good point

I got this same model and installed it in my system. Looks and works great! Significant cooling of the Ryzen 5 7600 compared to the wraith cooler. The 2 fans mean slower speeds and less noise. Great demo and kit.

I got the 420mm great temps on 5950x Pbo. Crazy 43° lows barely see 60's on high cpu loads.took me a min to figure out the L/R bracket was upside down. A lil up engraved on them would have been nice . Super happy with the cooler. Came from a NZXT KRAKEN Z73.
Good stuff and yes a little marker on the bar would be useful

Nice cooler Mike. I have a suggestion you might want to try? When you mount coolers for demonstrations. Use the cheapest paste you can find and save the good paste for actual builds? Nice review as always Mike and Lady Kath. Take care everyone. Cheers

yeah good point, but the testing is done at the same time usually so i like to try and keep things a little consistant if i can.
If i am done testing and doing the mounitng last, then i will use some cheap nasty stuff
Hi Mike. When I need to remove parts from my MB or anywhere else and don't want to lose them, I keep boxes of resealable ZipLock bags handy. The boxes contain the sandwich, quart, and gallon-size bags. I write a description of what I've placed in the bag for later reference. Of course, your mileage may vary.
Me too. Snack size bags are good for screws, etc. I put all the bags into a plastic under the bed container or if it is too big I put that box in my garage.

That's a bit of a bargain mike. Glad they got rid of the poxy clips that had on artic freezer 34. Looks good personally id be buying that in black . Look forward to seeing the tests. I've just bought the assassin king cooler not like not long ago. I do like artic coolers they are usually a bit dearer...
yes i agree, i think arctic knew they had to make a splash on this one or the thermalright coolers would be the better option, although saying that these P12 argb fans are top tier now they really are
Yeah they look great coolers, I got the non ARGB one for about £17 with the two fans which is a real bargain. A good tutorial on how to install this cooler on AM4 or AM5 platform thanks Mike.

I bought one of these coolers after having not enough clearance for the Liquid Freezer III AIO, I made the mistake of putting the mounting brackets upside down at first 🤣 in terms of cable management, I did the daisy chaining behind the case grommets, it kept the cables out of the way very well :)

Hi, Mike. Question for you. Of the cheap Intel CPU air-coolers you've tested, which one did you like best and would recommend? I'm asking because I have an i7 9700k and a Z390 motherboard that someone gave me, and it needs a CPU cooler.
for all round i would say this one, it is stupidly quiet and very good price at the moment. and two fans included is nuts

what i do when putting the paste on the cpu , i put a blob of it on cpu then spread it with a finger where i attached a sticky tape onto finger to spread it evenly , then i put some on the cooler so that it has a even spread and not pushed any out .

@@mikesunboxing It works a treat i took out the cpu recently and put a new cpu you in, i had to gently move the cooler from side to side to take the cooler off , the cpu had still had paste on and the cooler , the temps were in the 36c -96f then i changed cpu and repeated the process.
I just installed one but I had to lossen the screws on bk fan full turn. As it was catching and grinding on the cooler 😢
While your on the subject of fannies you should do a review of the coolermaster halo 😇 version 2 in white!

I wired up my fans exactly as you did but my fans dont spin. When i turn the psu on, the fans move for like 0.02 seconds and then stop. The rgb works but the power does not. Do these fans start spinning once power is turned on?

My stand off the back bracket of my pc is completely different I don't have they small metal ones you have I've took out my aio and it has long black stand offs

hi, im a newbie. im currently using the stock cooler with r5 3600. do i need to get the motherboard out of the case to replace cooler and cpu?
No that should not be necessary
what peocessor is this cooler tested on?
think it was a 7700x but it was a while back so it could have been 3900x
The camera work needs some work for these cooler installations as i found the swapping between angles every 10 seconds rather annoying , find 1 angle that works with good lighting. And yes sorry i have to mention the paste. To me you went overboard. Pea size. If someone without a paste guard is going to take over your method it's gonna leave a mess, for 0. I don't have to explain to you that paste is to fill in the tiny air gaps, and more doesn't equal better. Just my 2 cents though, sorry if i sound like a karen🤗

Just installed one this weekend on 1700 board, it has the contact frame included and was a doddle to install - absolutely love it.
Pop the CPU in the socket, remove the ILM, place the contact frame over the top and screw in - attach the cooler to the frame

I connected the rgb port to D_LED2 and the arctic software doesn't detect it. What should I do?

I also haven't found any tutorial about their software
