I don't see why people say One Piece is a terribly dubbed. It's one of the best Dubbed Anime out there! All the people naturally fit the characters voices and the people who voice them are great guys, very interesting interviews, bravo!
Some people just hate all dubs no matter what. There is no way to please those folks.

They don't naturally fit characters. It's only natural most dubs are terrible, because Anime BGM and pace is designed to fit Japanese VA and dialogue length. Also, majority of Animes and mangas are strongly based on dialogues with strong Japanese culture traits (including OP), it is impossible for the foreign Dub to naturally fit with character images you get from reading manga. There are very few Anime's like DBZ and Bleach which are not really affected by dialogue content, but OP is not in this category. Just imagine how stupid Simpsons would be in Japanese. That's how most Anime dubs are.

Honestly when it comes to Zoro you can't go wrong with Chris Sabat voicing him(Mostly because he's my favorite VA of all time but also because he has probably the deepest voice in all of Funimation).
Next to Travis Willingham, although he doesn't do As much Funi dubs since he lives in LA same with Patrick Seitz.
christian alonzo although travis does have a deep voice, he was great for ace since ace wasnt that deep only on certain situations when we finally hear travis deepness in ace

This is one of the rare occasions when both the 4kids and Funi VA are excellent as their chatacter. Both Chris Sabat and Marc Diraison were awesome as Zoro.
Chris still does it better though

Not only did Christopher Sabat voiced Piccolo and Vegeta from Dragon Ball, he's also plays Elfman from Fairy Tail.
But I say one of his best role is Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho
Zoro doesn't really participate in the goofy moments but he's far from stoic. His enthusiasm comes in a different form: The thrill of a challenge and bloodlust.

wonder if he realized when he started doing voice acting work that he'd be considered to have one of THE most badass voices in anime...he's just got one of those voices that you could probably stick in almost any anime as long as there was teh right character to go with him

Zoro is my favorite character from One Piece with Luffy right behind him and Chris Sabat nailed that role but man, everytime I hear him voicing Zoro in One Piece it always gives me a nostalgic feeling of my childhood, reminding me of Dragon Ball Z and his roles with Piccolo and Vegeta. Gets me sad everytime.
I was just wanting to know if he put anything in his mouth when zoro has his sword in his mouth.... I need to settle a debate here.

I used to love the English voices, but it really is hard to get used to them again after watching the sub!
I feel the same way sometimes, when I see a show in sub then in dub. It's usually one or the other (the older I get, the more sub I watch, one reason is because most aren't even dubbed anyway). It's totally weird to hear it in dub, but it's not like I hate it (unless it really is bad), it just takes getting used to.
Happened to me when started I watching the aired dub episodes of One Piece, but the more I watch, the more I get used to it and the more I like it.
It just takes some getting used to. :)
I can also hear him playing a more serious version of Archer.
