Why in the world would you want the responsibility of shooting your own child/grandchild's wedding?? Don't you want to be able to participate in the actual day?
As someone who had cancer in 2022 and has a constant fear of it returning, I cannot imagine my husband leaving me during one of the most scary, emotional, and difficult times in my life and probably of our whole 20+ years together. My cancer actually brought us closer together and led us to making more space in our marriage and lives for God. And to completely ice your friend out for her being responsible and considerate enough to step down because she was afraid the chemo would leave her unable to fulfill her bridal party duties and pretty much erasing all evidence of their friendship is complete trash!! At first I thought “how would she feel if her friend lost her battle and she just removed all traces of her?” But then I realized, if she can place the aesthetics of her wedding over her friends health and overall wellbeing, she probably wouldn’t give it a second thought anyways. The way some women behave over their weddings is disturbing and they should be ashamed. When my husband and I got married, we were married by one of my close friends in the kitchen of our old apartment wearing our everyday clothes and I was just as happy, maybe even more so, than a lot of these women who turn into psychopaths over their “special day”.
What do you think of this? My sister's step sister kept her Cancer diagnosis a secret up until her death...she agreed to get married and planned a huge wedding. She passed before the big day and everyone even I was shocked. We couldn't grieve properly, it is her decision but do you think she should have told people?
@@toidIllorTAmIit was her choice how she wanted to handle her diagnoses. Other people knowing could’ve made it more real than it already was and she wanted to try to live her life without having to think about it more than she already was.
@@toidIllorTAmII honestly understand her reasoning. I’ve said many times that I don’t think if I’d want to know if I had a terminal diagnosis. I’d rather just enjoy what months/years I have left in ignorance. I also get not wanting to worry your loved ones. My mother died of a terminal brain tumor 3 years ago and she hid the fact that she was getting forgetful and starting to lose her abilities until she fell over in a store and became incontinent. It felt like it happened really fast, but when I reflected on it, I think she knew something was wrong. I remember her apologizing for being forgetful and telling me her greatest fear was not being able to drive/losing her freedom to do what she wanted. By the time it was bad enough that my dad took her to the hospital, the tumor was so large that we went with palliative care, as surgery or chemotherapy would have been useless or killed her even faster. As much as it’s hard for people to understand, I respect and understand this choice. 🖤
Its kind of hard to respect for a lot of people because it gives no one time to greive and prepare. Death isnt cheap. Nor is a funeral. @@amandamarklandyoga

Fr, everything is so predictable nowadays. I see the trailer and immediately know what’s going to happen, like a basic gist of the plot line. It’s just so bland and rinse-and-repeat of the same formula.
Not just you! I find some older movies from the 80s and 90s and early 00s are better but modern ones are very predictable. I suppose we are in the veneer tech / hylauron pen era, so maybe they're making more movies for dumb people or something, like in Idiocracy.

I couldn't afford a big wedding. I had 1 maid of honor/brudesmaid and I told her to wear whatever she wanted. I only had about 20 guests. I am so very grateful and thankful for my family who pitched in to the entire event wonderful. The love and help shown to me by friends and family was more beautiful than anything.
That last story hurts to hear. I struggle with an inherited chronic illness that flares up from time to time. I’m not married but I’ve been with the same man for 17 years. We didn’t take vows in sickness and in health.. but this man takes *the* best care of me. Even this morning, before he left for work he thought I might have an episode so he led me to bed, covered me with a blanket and kissed me goodbye. I don’t understand how people abandon people they claim to love. Even without a vow my man has stuck by my side.. and I will stick by his for as long as we’re lucky enough to be here.
Maybe I’m just petty but with that Mean Girl story, if I were asked about my wedding date after she already stole my dress, I’d pick the month with the absolute worst weather in the region, whether is the southwest in summer or northeast in winter. The time of the year where everything sucks. Just to see if she’d plan her wedding for that date, too 😂

Partiality because she and her husband didn’t want any unsolicited comments from family, but mostly because she didn’t want anyone to get inspired and jack her daughter’s name. 😆 Very smart. I’ve heard of this happening-sometimes between friends-and then you either have to think of something else or your kids who are raised together have the same first name. Especially if you know someone who is uncreative af and is further along in their pregnancy than you. I can’t imagine using the same name someone close to me planned to use, no matter how much I liked it. Obviously they don’t own the name, but it just seems incredibly disrespectful for someone to confide that information in you, and then you turn around and take it for yourself.
I have tiktok, but I never see any of these dramas cos I only watch old music videos and funny videos. Tiktok is really great with the algorithm, so I dont see what I don't want to 😂😂😂
I'm currently at time 1:15 hearing the first bride list and when the girl reading told us that "if you have rainbow hair, just don't have it" I chocked on my water cuz my hair is LITERALLY a rainbow right now 😭 My roots are red and going all colors until the purple ends, I'm laughing so bad LMAO

Ok I have to share my story 😂 when I was 26 my former best friend asked me to be her maid of honor at her wedding. I was very happy to accept. Some months later I was telling her about my financial struggles at the time and suddenly she says "I decided that my cousin is gonna be my maid of honor, because my boyfriend chose his cousin as the best man". I was very disappointed because she told me so many time that she wanted me as her MOH that this decision felt wrong and unnatural, so I told her. She angrily replied that as a MOH I was supposed to buy the wedding rings, that I had to organize a bachelorette party, that I had to buy certain clothes and shoes. I was furious and broke up the friendship. I always thought our friendship was authentic and she wanted me as a MOH because of me, not for my money! And the entitlement! I hate when people expect material things because I hate material weddings. If your priority is showing off things then we can't be friends. Edit: I meant the wedding RINGS

I remember hearing one time that there was a man who was with his girlfriend when they found out she had cancer, and he immediately proposed to her. Sometimes people are the opposite of trash and they step up when the go gets rough. If I remember correctly, she beat the cancer and they’re happily married.

You're not the only one, i seem to "predict" what's next or outcome, etc. It makes things i try and watch unappealing and im not into any shows like i used to. I hardly watch tv, just what my kids put on sometimes which i dont mind bc its a lot of youtube nonsense with no story.
It's always funny, because I relate to these stories to a degree. Sometimes, you cannot escape a bridezilla like friends and workers can. Also, I feel those extra parts. When it's time for me and my partner to get married we already decided there will be no party for others so we can have a party for ourselves, the honeymoon will be IT for us but nothing very fancy, just enough so we can remember forever, thankfully we're both low budget. I'm a makeup artist myself and know how to do hair so I'll be doing everything myself and my dress/suit I'm still not sure will be thrifted, period. At max there's gonna be a little party at our place for close ones, all food and decorations will be coming from me cuz I love cooking and decorating with MY LIFE. Everything's waaaay too expensive, for brides is like getting a loan for a house 😷
That’s essentially what my parents did. They skipped the wedding entirely, they just got hitched and gave themselves a nice week long honeymoon. They still don’t regret it one bit. There were some family members that were salty about there being no big party, but marriages aren’t ABOUT the other family members, it’s about the couple. My parents just wanted to be with each other, not stress about venues or dresses or whatever.

On my weeding day all I wanna do is enjoy the stuff I paid for, not stressing myself by the photographers demands! I admit that if I had a lot of money I'd love to have a fairytale weeding, but I don't so yeah I prefer enjoying a private honeymoon and start saying some money for a big vacation at our 5 year weeding anniversary, then 10, then 15...

When I get married my only "rule" for my birdal party is they have to have a dress thats in the same color family. They can have whatever sytle or cut makes them feel good as long as they coordinate. And for my Bachelorette party honesty i just just want a sleepover
The bride in that first story expecting the bridesmaids to split the cost of HER part of the wedding as well as pay for the $600+ stuff she wants them to get for themselves is crazyyy. I've heard of the bride's parents paying for the wedding but I've never heard of bridesmaids paying for the bride's wedding. And considering how much she wanted them to spend on just themselves I can't imagine how much her own part would have costed. That's bold in all the wrong ways.
I had my cousin do the photos and she has lost them and never gave it to me and left early at the wedding. I was so mad my family convinced me to let her do it. Our family had taken over the whole wedding to have it at my husband mom’s house so it will be free to have his sister be the planner. My aunt took over from his sister. We are redoing our wedding in a few years and no family helping. We want the wedding of our dreams as we didn’t get it the first time. We still had fun but it was not want I wanted.
I could be entirely wrong with this about people doing parts to their stories, so take with a grain of salt. But I recall hearing somewhere that despite TikTok even allowing uploads up to 10 minutes, if you still don't keep it below a minute then the algorithm won't spread your videos out at all. It takes a LOT of engagement and views for anything over a minute to get pushed more into the algorithm numbers to be effective, and it's not always the case for story times like this. That said, you look STUNNING!

The cancer thing is sickening. I stepped down from a wedding because of COVID and if my daughter got it, it could have been devastating for her. She understood, she was disappointed but understood.
I met this couple (the GF was wearing headscarf due to hair loss) at an art meetup maybe 10-ish years ago, he still takes her to her chemo treatments to this day 😭
John Baptist made an album for his wife while she was in treatment. I wasn’t a fan of it, but when he shared the story about how happy it made her, I thought it was sweet.

Nothing wrong with opting out of being a bridesmaid. This sort of inconsideration says a lot about that person, would not want them in my life. Also the bridesmaids and grooms gifts and whole industry has just been blown out of proportion. Want them to have a good marriage, pay for their pre marital therapy, financial planning classes, Bridal dresses, don't be a drama. Go to one of those companies who make them by the lot, wrap can be worn different ways, infinity dresses. They can be worn again and easily manipulated. Let them pick whatever shoes are the most comfortable. I had a terrible roommate and then got invited to her wedding. In my toast I thanked the groom profusely for getting her into the married life and moving to his town. Our friendship ended. Donate those old dresses to prom drives. I have seen brides struggle to not cry during weddings, they did not want to be married. I later found out with one of them that the groom had drugged the bride for the wedding. Really check on if they want to marry.

my dad got married 10 years ago and i asked if i could bring my lil sister with me (we dont have the same dad) she was 11 at the time and was always with me and my kiddos who were 6 and 7. He said okay but she has to have normal hair and no piercings or tattos (chill dad shes 11). We arrived at the church and all my dads friends were there ....with MOHAWKS and RAINBOW colored hair....😶🌫And to top it off i was assigned at a normal table and i see the wedding table and who is there with my dad, his wife and my grandparents? My brother (his wifes son but we always called ourselves brother and sister ) with his girlfriend.....i felt so bad so left out of the family 🥺

I had a friend that was having a graduation party. At the time i was working as an intern. Sis invited me and the invite states: she will pay for our drinks (first round) and we will pay the reminder. She chose an expensive restaurant.She wanted us to wear gold and no one just have gold laying there. She wanted a gift from a certain store where i dont even go in to check prices. The venue was far so my uber was like R600 a return. I know 600 in US Dollar is not a lot but in SA it is a lot. A taxi was an option but because the party started at 20h00 i was not going to get a taxi. I chose not to go because clearly when she made these plans she only considered herself and her friends who afford. She asked why i didnt come i told her when she made plans she did not consider people like me so congratulations on your degree
I’m a photographer and while I can do weddings, it’s definitely not my forte. I’ll do everything I can to get the shot. I became an impromptu photographer for my best friend’s wedding and did a baseball slide to get the first kiss shot. It’s something we still laugh about nearly two years later. Her wedding was beautiful and seeing her marry her soulmate is one of the happiest memories I have with her. Another of my close friends was in a drag show that I was hired to do photography for, and he proposed to his now fiancée during his performance. The speed at which I jumped in a chair to get the shot of him on his knee is insane. He and his fiancée watched videos back that a couple other queens took and they laughed at me jumping in the chair. He then called me a few days later and asked me to be their photographer for their engagement photos, family photos, and wedding. The best thing about photography is taking a moment in time and making it a permanent memory.
The last one got me. My future mother-in-law has cancer. We are trying to plan our wedding and have it in time so she can be a part of it. I want her as my MOH. I don't care if she has to do it in a wheelchair to be there. I don't want to marry her son without her. She has been my bestfriend, mother, grandma and I love her so much. She's going to wear a dress that she chooses and is the most comfortable for her. Our teen has even volunteered to donate her hair to make a wig for MIL since the chemo has taken that from her.
My sisters ex best friend was getting married. I am not sure why she asked me to do the whole before wedding thing. Rehearsal. I have done at large college events but never a wedding. We all meet at 1:00 pm and done by 4: 00 pm. My sister comes scrolling in after 4. She wants to start all over and direct the rehearsal. The Pastor happens to be walking by as I tell my sister absolutely not! My sister being the attention seekers upstate the bride. She said made good on that. Those two were so happy that day. Her friend didn't mind at all. Boy!

alAs for the end of the movie - I have a chronic illnesses and whenever I opened up to others, talking about my struggles, sooner or later that person would cut off contact with me. In therapy I learned that this is a very common problem. People break off friendships, marriages because someone got sick, because someone started having more severe symptoms. In the end I was left without friends because they traumatized me so much. Many times I gave a new person a chance, and then the story repeated itself. The best thing is that in 90% of cases they would suddenly cut off contact with me, pretending that nothing had happened, suddenly ignoring me. I fcking hate people

I would’ve turned on my heels, and marched down that aisle in front of the whole group of attendees. I would have turned around at the church door, taken my little bouquet and thrown it on the floor, turned back around, marched out, and slammed the door shut. I probably would’ve got applause😂

Covering them is one thing, but people tend to get tatts for a reason - one being that they may resemble something like a family member that passed, and others just enjoy them and can afford them. But people aren't gonna spend thousands of money for a single day that's not even about them. If I spent 200 dollars to dye my hair for my own pleasure, I'm not just gonna have to spend more for a stupid wedding, and quite frankly, why should I when it's not even gonna effect the appearance? What did that bride have against people of different body types?! Not everyone's gonna look like you, and not just because of their body weight! Are you gonna be picky about skin color too?! Honestly I don't even like weddings, especially in the stereotypical form. I'm not into the lovey-dovey thing and quite frankly get irked when around it. The only one I enjoyed was a Halloween wedding that my teacher had, and we got to dress up in costumes so it was way better.

Partiality because she and her husband didn’t want any unsolicited comments from family, but mostly because she didn’t want anyone to get inspired and jack her daughter’s name. 😆 Very smart.
I’ve heard of this happening-sometimes between friends-and then you either have to think of something else or your kids who are raised together have the same first name. Especially if you know someone who is uncreative af and is further along in their pregnancy than you. I can’t imagine using the same name someone close to me planned to use, no matter how much I liked it. Obviously they don’t own the name, but it just seems incredibly disrespectful for someone to confide that information in you, and then you turn around and take it for yourself.

Ok I have to share my story 😂 when I was 26 my former best friend asked me to be her maid of honor at her wedding. I was very happy to accept. Some months later I was telling her about my financial struggles at the time and suddenly she says "I decided that my cousin is gonna be my maid of honor, because my boyfriend chose his cousin as the best man". I was very disappointed because she told me so many time that she wanted me as her MOH that this decision felt wrong and unnatural, so I told her.
She angrily replied that as a MOH I was supposed to buy the wedding rings, that I had to organize a bachelorette party, that I had to buy certain clothes and shoes.
I was furious and broke up the friendship. I always thought our friendship was authentic and she wanted me as a MOH because of me, not for my money! And the entitlement!
I hate when people expect material things because I hate material weddings. If your priority is showing off things then we can't be friends.

I remember hearing one time that there was a man who was with his girlfriend when they found out she had cancer, and he immediately proposed to her. Sometimes people are the opposite of trash and they step up when the go gets rough. If I remember correctly, she beat the cancer and they’re happily married.

You're not the only one, i seem to "predict" what's next or outcome, etc. It makes things i try and watch unappealing and im not into any shows like i used to. I hardly watch tv, just what my kids put on sometimes which i dont mind bc its a lot of youtube nonsense with no story.
It's always funny, because I relate to these stories to a degree. Sometimes, you cannot escape a bridezilla like friends and workers can. Also, I feel those extra parts. But, to tell a true crazy bridezilla story, you need a long forum. Always takes me an hour to explain the first crazy thing for my Karen-Bridezilla. When it's time for me and my partner to get married we already decided there will be no party for others so we can have a party for ourselves, the honeymoon will be IT for us but nothing very fancy, just enough so we can remember forever, thankfully we're both low budget. I'm a makeup artist myself and know how to do hair so I'll be doing everything myself and my dress/suit I'm still not sure will be thrifted, period. At max there's gonna be a little party at our place for close ones, all food and decorations will be coming from me cuz I love cooking and decorating with MY LIFE.
Everything's waaaay too expensive, for brides is like getting a loan for a house 😷
That’s essentially what my parents did. They skipped the wedding entirely, they just got hitched and gave themselves a nice week long honeymoon. They still don’t regret it one bit. There were some family members that were salty about there being no big party, but marriages aren’t ABOUT the other family members, it’s about the couple. My parents just wanted to be with each other, not stress about venues or dresses or whatever.

The bride in that first story expecting the bridesmaids to split the cost of HER part of the wedding as well as pay for the $600+ stuff she wants them to get for themselves is crazyyy. I've heard of the bride's parents paying for the wedding but I've never heard of bridesmaids paying for the bride's wedding. And considering how much she wanted them to spend on just themselves I can't imagine how much her own part would have costed. That's bold in all the wrong ways.
I had my cousin do the photos and she has lost them and never gave it to me and left early at the wedding. I was so mad my family convinced me to let her do it. Our family had taken over the whole wedding to have it at my husband mom’s house so it will be free to have his sister be the planner. My aunt took over from his sister. We are redoing our wedding in a few years and no family helping. We want the wedding of our dreams as we didn’t get it the first time. We still had fun but it was not want I wanted.

I could be entirely wrong with this about people doing parts to their stories, so take with a grain of salt.
But I recall hearing somewhere that despite TikTok even allowing uploads up to 10 minutes, if you still don't keep it below a minute then the algorithm won't spread your videos out at all. It takes a LOT of engagement and views for anything over a minute to get pushed more into the algorithm numbers to be effective, and it's not always the case for story times like this.
That said, you look STUNNING!
You know this is why I post pet videos. I need palette cleansing, and quickly looking at my silly babies makes me feel better. My wedding was so drama free it would seem boring to these folks.

The cancer thing is sickening. I stepped down from a wedding because of COVID and if my daughter got it, it could have been devastating for her. She understood, she was disappointed but understood.

Nothing wrong with opting out of being a bridesmaid. This sort of inconsideration says a lot about that person, would not want them in my life. Also the bridesmaids and grooms gifts and whole industry has just been blown out of proportion. Want them to have a good marriage, pay for their pre marital therapy, financial planning classes, Bridal dresses, don't be a drama. Go to one of those companies who make them by the lot, wrap can be worn different ways, infinity dresses. They can be worn again and easily manipulated. Let them pick whatever shoes are the most comfortable. I had a terrible roommate and then got invited to her wedding. In my toast I thanked the groom profusely for getting her into the married life and moving to his town. Our friendship ended. Donate those old dresses to prom drives. I have seen brides struggle to not cry during weddings, they did not want to be married. I later found out with one of them that the groom had drugged the bride for the wedding. Really check on if they want to marry.
You are not alone about being able to predict movies I'm the same way. Even my husband would say you've seen this already I'm like nope. I already know where this is going. Crazy scary I could just about get the lines the actors were going to say too.

my dad got married 10 years ago and i asked if i could bring my lil sister with me (we dont have the same dad) she was 11 at the time and was always with me and my kiddos who were 6 and 7. He said okay but she has to have normal hair and no piercings or tattos (chill dad shes 11). We arrived at the church and all my dads friends were there ....with MOHAWKS and RAINBOW colored hair....😶🌫And to top it off i was assigned at a normal table and i see the wedding table and who is there with my dad, his wife and my grandparents? My brother (his wifes son but we always called ourselves brother and sister ) with his girlfriend.....i felt so bad so left out of the family 🥺

I had a friend that was having a graduation party. At the time i was working as an intern. Sis invited me and the invite states: she will pay for our drinks (first round) and we will pay the reminder. She chose an expensive restaurant.She wanted us to wear gold and no one just have gold laying there. She wanted a gift from a certain store where i dont even go in to check prices. The venue was far so my uber was like R600 a return. I know 600 in US Dollar is not a lot but in SA it is a lot. A taxi was an option but because the party started at 20h00 i was not going to get a taxi.
I chose not to go because clearly when she made these plans she only considered herself and her friends who afford.
She asked why i didnt come i told her when she made plans she did not consider people like me so congratulations on your degree

I’m a photographer and while I can do weddings, it’s definitely not my forte.
I’ll do everything I can to get the shot. I became an impromptu photographer for my best friend’s wedding and did a baseball slide to get the first kiss shot. It’s something we still laugh about nearly two years later. Her wedding was beautiful and seeing her marry her soulmate is one of the happiest memories I have with her.
Another of my close friends was in a drag show that I was hired to do photography for, and he proposed to his now fiancée during his performance. The speed at which I jumped in a chair to get the shot of him on his knee is insane. He and his fiancée watched videos back that a couple other queens took and they laughed at me jumping in the chair. He then called me a few days later and asked me to be their photographer for their engagement photos, family photos, and wedding.
The best thing about photography is taking a moment in time and making it a permanent memory.

The last one got me. My future mother-in-law has cancer. We are trying to plan our wedding and have it in time so she can be a part of it. I want her as my MOH. I don't care if she has to do it in a wheelchair to be there. I don't want to marry her son without her. She has been my bestfriend, mother, grandma and I love her so much. She's going to wear a dress that she chooses and is the most comfortable for her. Our teen has even volunteered to donate her hair to make a wig for MIL since the chemo has taken that from her.
My sisters ex best friend was getting married. I am not sure why she asked me to do the whole before wedding thing. Rehearsal.
I have done at large college events but never a wedding.
We all meet at 1:00 pm and done by 4: 00 pm.
My sister comes scrolling in after 4.
She wants to start all over and direct the rehearsal.
The Pastor happens to be walking by as I tell my sister absolutely not!
My sister being the attention seekers upstate the bride.
She said made good on that.
Those two were so happy that day.

alAs for the end of the movie - I have a chronic illnesses and whenever I opened up to others, talking about my struggles, sooner or later that person would cut off contact with me. In therapy I learned that this is a very common problem. People break off friendships, marriages because someone got sick, because someone started having more severe symptoms. In the end I was left without friends because they traumatized me so much. Many times I gave a new person a chance, and then the story repeated itself. The best thing is that in 90% of cases they would suddenly cut off contact with me, pretending that nothing had happened, suddenly ignoring me. I fcking hate people

I would’ve turned on my heels, and marched down that aisle in front of the whole group of attendees. I would have turned around at the church door, taken my little bouquet and thrown it on the floor, turned back around, marched out, and slammed the door shut. I probably would’ve got applause😂

I can understand some things like tattoos (especially if they're the vulgar or sexual kinds) , but I wouldn't want them to feel like they have to remove them. Covering them is one thing, but people tend to get tatts for a reason - one being that they may resemble something like a family member that passed, and others just enjoy them and can afford them. But people aren't gonna spend thousands of money for a single day that's not even about them.
If I spent 200 dollars to dye my hair for my own pleasure, I'm not just gonna have to spend more for a stupid wedding, and quite frankly, why should I when it's not even gonna effect the appearance?
What did that bride have against people of different body types?! Not everyone's gonna look like you, and not just because of their body weight! Are you gonna be picky about skin color too?!
Honestly I don't even like weddings, especially in the stereotypical form. I'm not into the lovey-dovey thing and quite frankly get irked when around it. The only one I enjoyed was a Halloween wedding that my teacher had, and we got to dress up in costumes so it was way better.
