They had no problem taking $500 from my account this weekend for taxes I had to pay for the first time ever, but they couldn't even give me the $1400 they owed me. If they can take it fast, they can send it fast.

I’m that one in a million waiting since February 12, 2021 for my refund! If I owed $5, to them, I would be penalized with interest and probably garnished! WTH 🤦♂️ No IRS apps or phone lines working at all!

UPDATE: Called the IRS they just told me that if you dont receive a update in 25 days for your e-file status that your e-file status will be extended to 10 weeks before you receive a letter from the IRS telling you that your taxes are wrong and you need to re-file which will take another 25 days to process after your 10 weeks.. this is insane

As of this moment, the IRS "Where's My Refund" is not at all helpful. Just says it's processing with no explanation or potential refund date. My filing was accepted on 2/12 and refund expected on 3/5. Still waiting.

My husband and I do not qualify for any of the stimulus checks, which is fine. However, we still have not received our amended tax return filed a year ago. So when we owe IRS, we get punished. Yet IRS can owe us thousands of $$ without any consequences.
Mine was accepted on 13th of February using hrblock and was still on processing. The bar is off now and tells me that it is still being processed and a refund date will be given if available. Even my state is still processing. 🤮

45 days after the last day for taxes, if you still havent gotten it there is 3% interest a day they have to give you.

The deadline should not be extended. That only creates the same issue over again . Next year we will be rite back in the same situation. Hire more people and get people their money 😡
Requires Congress to be nice and fix their budget. They literally ran out of money in the middle of hiring last year and couldnt offer positions that were ready to be filled.
I disagree, it does need to be extended. Not just because the IRS is behind in processing tax returns but also because the new stimulus bill that was passed made retroactive tax law changes to 2020. So now tax software companies and tax preparers are left with more work to do to implement these changes both going forward and for those individuals that have already filed. I am a tax preparer and have probably 100 returns sitting aside waiting on farther guidance from the IRS before they can be completed. It's extremely frustrating.
Plus it costs the govt and us ultimately more money from pure interest if the deadline isn't pushed back. Refunds start gaining interest 45 days after the deadline. Ppl that owe get a break to pay later. They are already going to be paying millions in interest for the 2019 refunds yet to be issued. Moving the deadline might cause ppl to file later so the agency has more time to catch up before a new wave.
Their is no delay if they need to snatch a payment out of your account. This is crae!!!! Thank God I don’t depend on anything extra.

I had to mail in my 2019 return in
July. So im waiting for my 2019 taxes i havent received any of the stimulus checks. And since they have processed my 2019 taxes yet I had to mail in my 2020 return. Irs should not extend the deadline. If the do then I will still be waiting for my return that I filed 2/12. Look what happened last year when they extended it, 7 million tax returns from 2019 is still being processed a year later. Wtf 😒. they told everyone after January 15th to file their stimulus checks on their tax returns I filed my tax returns on the 3rd and turned around and got my stimulus check on the 5th of February this is crazy
It's normal to lose your bars after 21 days, rather it's bars or words saying "still processing", still mean the same. I'm assuming the IRS may need additional weeks to apply the 10,200 tax-free break, send out stimulus, work on 2019+2020 tax returns, etc OR they could be giving debt collectors time to collect. IDK but my advice check your transcript on Fridays or WMR on Saturdays to see if you have a DDD for (check bank acct) Monday's or Wednesday's.

Yeah well the online site doesn’t even tell me anything! I filed on Feb 16 and the process hasn’t changed from accepted, finally I called on day 21 and the gentleman told me there was nothing wrong and it was processing. He said sometimes it takes 28 days. Well here I am day 28, nothing! My status still hasn’t changed. They are not taking calls now, so I can’t call. To top that off, my stimulus payment says it is scheduled for deposit tomorrow, but it’s to my closed account, so now I have to wait for a paper check. My bank info is updated on my taxes, but they haven’t touched them yet!!!! I am so in need of this money .

the IRS will work out a payment program with you. Several years ago I owed a taxing amount and I simply asked for a payment schedule and things were worked out based on my ability to pay

The problem i have how did I get my 3 stimulus before my taxes
I filed at the end of January, got my state but not my federal. Still says processing. My second stimulus got messed up because the deposit account I used last year was closed months ago and they kept trying to send it there. So my second stimulus and federal refund are delayed and I'm probably not going to see my 3rd stimulus check for even longer if they keep trying to send it to the closed bank account. My head is spinning.

@@jazarad7916 It's called incompetence. If the IRS can't do their job they need to get someone else with access to their records to handle the stimulus so the IRS can focus on taxes.
Excuses. The IRS had enough time to send many people notices for unreported income. That department should be helping processing returns. Then when you call them 11 million times you get rushed off the phone by their unprofessional representatives who read off a screen.

I'd make the bet that if I owed them 1400 dollars, they would quiçkly take me to court. With the shoe on the other foot they drag anchor and be in no hurry. Makes me think that the IRS cares nothing about WE THE PEOPLE.
I didn't get 1st 2nd or third stimulus..it all b's irs is holding them for what I don't owe them nothing..this is a way to get back at biden

I personally sent mine and electronically early and the IRS accepted my return February 12th and as of today March 18th the status of my refund is"STILL PROCESSING" I have not been told if it was accepted or denied I am left in limbo and filled with anxiety not knowing if there is issues with my return that I could be working on at this time to fix it because it's like winning the lotto trying to get a hold of someone over there. Every year now it has taken the IRS longer to send back returns, even prior to covid there was a delay which in this case was I think due to claiming earned income and or child tax credit was the cause of the delay although they were never this late getting the money back out
Explain why my Federal 2018 taxes I sent off on 05/19/2020 next day mail is still sitting @the Irs???? This is ridculous !
The only people that get their stimulus payment first is if you have Direct Deposit. People like me that receive social security retirement benefits will be waiting forever. The get my payment doesn’t know anything. I did file early and I’m still waiting as usual.

Same here and I filled Jan 29th and I don't even see where it's been accepted!
My mom on social security she filed 2019 taxes via paper not file and hit her return and 2 stimulus with no problem so idk
I use to look forward to tax season now its nerve racking like am i gonna receive my refund 😏
Plus the irs stopped sending the 2nd stimulus checks early because they said in order to be prepared for this tax season they were not sending stimulus checks after the 15th of Jan and now what's happening massive delays.
my wife and I both got our refunds and each stimulus check already, and we never lost our jobs making $96k household in a rural area and I even get to work from home now. This month is the first time in my life I actually have more money in the bank than total debt owed including my mortgage.
This is just Sad there not trying to help us.
