In this video, I showcase an insane new watch band design that's possibly the most adjustable watch strap you can buy (that looks nice, at least). What do you think of these Kore Essentials watch bands and the excursion timepiece? Would you install one of these straps on your own wristwatch?
Kore Essentials provided the Excursion watch for this review. They had no creative control over this video and did not provide any monetary payment.

I miss your fashion channel, and your hair!
Man that watch size is enormous, I thought it was an Invicta at first!
4:25 There is also the Formex watch straps, which have standard holes but then have a 6 position microadjust system build into the buckle.
Interesting, didn’t know that
I like the idea and would love to try them when they come in more traditional sizes like 20 mm or 22 mm. Also, making the straps taper too would be a nice touch.
I hope that they will expand this to other sizes and styles. It looks really interesting and promising. I’m especially curious to see what his whole eventually look like in bracelet form, if it’s able to be applied to them
I swapped out my belts for those ratcheting type ones a few years back too. They really are a game changer.
I like the idea of implementing something similar on a watch. This seems like a good proof of concept.
I have a similar ratcheting belt and always wondered why watch straps don't use the same mechanism. Glad to see it happening now.
I've worn a Kore gun belt for years and love the mechanism so I'll definitely be checking these out. I don't think I have any 22mm lug width watches though, so I'd definitely like to see a 20mm addition at the very least.
I've never worn a Kore but I am a total convert to rachet belts, so I love seeing this on a watch strap.
Ratchet belts are boss!
Ive been wearing their belts for years. 100% recommended
Been wearing Anson belts for almost 10 years, but I bought some Kore gun belts recently and the quality and durability is just next level. Plus the adjustment strip is longer, which is great for when you go from wearing a gun to not wearing a gun. Anyways, just wanted to vouch for Kore's quality in general because it was so impressive to me recently.
this has such a huge potential in the watch market..
Love the idea, waiting for 20mm versions and more colors.
Spaghetti Scameti watches fit everyone perfectly the first time and forever! All other watches NEED this cool strap!
Shenzen, Italy.... Birthplace of spaghetti scammeti... Nice Ben.
I don't have any 24mm strap watches, BUT... I've just bought two of the Kore Essentials belts and I am SO impressed. Beautiful leather and SO comfortable. Thanks, Ben.
The Erica’s straps are adjusted super easily on wrist. You just pull the buckle towards you. The problem with those is that they losen up over time so I find myself adjusting it several times during the day. They’re great but not perfect
Great info Ben... We now need to purchase a few new watches in order to fit the 24mm width 🤦🏽♂️😅
You and me both!
It's kind of like a Rolex glidelock.
And what Zelos provide (at a 10th of the cost of 👑).
@@cannotfinddevice Yeah, but then you aren't wearing a Rolex.
Perlon is by far my fave strap because how adjustable and breathable it is, I wish more companies made them, even the two pc ones are nice
Great idea. I'm sure it would be worth increasing the range. Brands like Cartier, Tag, Breitling, and I'm sure some others have straps without holes that are very adjustable but I've never seen one that works so quickly on the fly. At the cheaper end check out Cheapest Nato Straps in Sweden. They have their own version of a Marine Nationale strap (Paratrooper strap) that is more quickly adjustable, and something they call a SEAL (yes those guys) strap that works well too. Very affordable.
Great straps and great episode as always.
With Great appreciation
Nizar
Didn't think I'd be leaving this video wanting to buy a belt...always surprising me Ben!
The belts are mega, any ratchet belts are really 👌
Wow, yes, I'd love to get several of these in 20 and 22mm black and brown. It seems like the perfect evolution of the strap. The watch looks nice if you love the blackout look, but I need some contrast on the dial. But I get it that it is a tactical watch for nightly mischief.
Every rubber strap manufacturer is going to have to implement this technology going forward
Would be super interested, but need more widths and maybe a taper if that would even be possible with this system.
Hoping for a 20mm strap one day! These look great and the mechanism behind it looks very promising!
I've worn a Kore leather gun belt for about a year now. I will definitely be buying one of their 24mm watch straps.
It is a cool idea. Im surprised not been done before. I”m guessing they may even have some IP from the belt innovation…
Bought one and it is outstanding. You can move it slightly tighter or looser instantly. I love it. The company said there are more strap options coming out.
I'm sure if they provided a 20 & 22mm option and the prices weren't crazy, they could be popular. Oh and a shorter opinion for the smaller wrist.
Good news with the length is that even the 24mm fits me (tiny wrist) quite well, the track section is so long there's quite a bit of leeway, though the keepers may need repositioning
It's a great idea. They need to make them in leather and OD green
Forget the watches, if this company can make straps on different designs for other lug widths, I'm sold!
I feel I’m more excited about their belts. Wow!!
Kore Essentials is a fantastic company! I have 4 of there belts in my closet and have one on now. Ive been wearing them for over 7 years and never had a single complaint and never wore another belt since. Now I want this watch!!!
I bought the Ecslipse model and it is honestly very very nice. Its built like a tank good to 30 atms with jewel swiss movement and the highly adjustable band is perfect. I went back and then bought 2 of their belts as well and same thing. Awesome quality and function.
Thanks for sharing
Yup, a 20mm and 22mm would be lovely. Good to see the innovation though
I love ratcheting belts, glad someone is making ratcheting watch straps too. I just hope they start making them in 20mm lug width.
It's not cheap or well advertised but the Rubber B Dream strap offers 2mm (yes that's right) adjustment ability. Its a game changer.
*Kore Straps: Take-a-licking-and-keep-on-clicking!*
😂
I would be favorable to give it a try with a 20mm and 22mm band. The concept behind the product is very intriguing.
Love my Kore belt. Worn it for couple years now
That strap is a great idea, they just need to be smaller, taper down and offer them in multiple colours.
They should expand to other sizes, colors and designs. I'm sure they'll make a boat load!
How does that TPE strap feel on the wrist after prolonged wear?
So the same as mesh or milanese strap, but in a silicone variant...Nice! 😊
Hi Ben - I like the look of this strap - but I do not have any 24mm Strap Width Watches and considering I have in excess of 100 watches !! They need to release a 20mm to make it viable for the mass market - I would definately buy one if available in smaller sizes.
I have their belt and always wondered how nice would it be to have a watch strap like it :)
Good start.
Ha! Anson should have listened to me! I commented on one of their ads on FB a while back that they should miniaturize what they do with belts and make watch straps. Many agreed. Looks like Kore beat ‘em to it! 😂 I hope they come out with other sizes soon, this is a dream come true. I’m ALWAYS in between the sizes in regular straps. And Ben, thanks for showing the comparisons between the Anson and Kore belts. I love my Anson belts but when I get another belt I think I’m gonna try Kore’s.
Anson's are still decent and they have a better selection of colours; that said, the Kore belts (unless Anson has upgraded since I tried them) are way better made imo
Nice! I wish it was in 20mm so I could put it on my Seamaster.
I've worn no other belt than the €3 ones with the nylon flip buckle from aliexpress for the last 5 years at least. Cheap, light, durable, easy to operate - they can't be beat, idc what anyone tells me!
This system seems flawed from the get go for watch straps. The ratchet teeth and strap itself are made of the same material, while they require mutually exclusive material properties; the teeth have to be hard and tough, while the strap should be soft and pliable. So that means that either comfort or security/durability would be compromised.
Anyway another great video Ben, always appreciate your insights and integrity.
I really wish they made them
In the standard 20mm width, would love to get one for my Hamilton kfm
Great idea-- they need to make these in 20mm though!
Looks good
Very cool system. You need to try an Erika’s originals, super comfy!
Interesting. Waaay too chunky for me, but a cool mechanism. The Erica's are quite easy to adjust on wrist, btw. Give them a go
I think Tag has the best clasp.. It's micro adjustable and very comfortable. I also have an Omega watch with deployment strap. It's good but has no micro adjustment.
Super nice but I wish the straps would't be just black. Will check also the belts out. Thanks Ben!
A lot of mesh type belts have a sliding buckle that is infinitely adjustable and once set never needs re setting.
They need to make a 20mm strap. 24mm is madness
THIS IS SPARTA 😂
It's like a zip tie with an accessible release. What's the distance between clicks?
I want one to fit on my Duros!
Where can I get that strap roll at the beginning - or a similar system?
Brilliant idea. The other watch companies are mired in tradition and have trouble thinking outside the box. This kore company seems to innovate anything they touch.
Kore team: if you release the straps in 20+22mm, I will hit “buy” so fast. Do it in multiple colors/styles and I’ll just sign my paychecks over to you.
I had a belt with that "track" all of 20 years ago. It was brilliant and certainly KORE was not the first.
What was the metal adjustable clasp show in the video? I haven’t seen one that small before.
The bracelet was from the Casio Oceanus T150 that I reviewed last year 👍 I explain the mechanism in that video too
I hope these sell well enough to convince them to make a 20 mm version.
Great review, I bet Ali express watch company owners have this design already in there p.c..lol
I've been using these types of belts for years. I was wondering when someone would apply it to watch bands.
Would have gotten one on the spot, if they had them in more watch enthusiast sizes like 22mm at least, or the gold standard 20mm.
With more than 60 straps in my collection, i have yet to find a use for a 24.
Black is a great start, but some other color variations, like cream, white, dark blue, dark red, orange, yellow and kaki, this watch strap would be a killer hit.
Honestly am more excited about the belt, am gonna order one now. Watch strap seems cool, but I'll wait till they release a 20mm one
Interesting.
I would certainly be interested in 22mm or 20mm strap sizes
yup, 24mm only is them shooting themselves in the foot. I was ready to buy as soon as i was 30 seconds into the video...
Hopefully they'll consider making them with enough buzz 🙏
Yes you can buy the straps but they are for 24mm lugs so will pretty much only fit on invictas 😅 formex has a adjustable clasp for lesther straps but those are very expensive
Is it compatible with the scameti?
Nice solution. They better make 20 and 22 mm variants so I could buy.
This strap mechanism looks great... but I kept getting distracted by your shirt that appears to read "Shenzhen, Italy"...? 🤣
If they were available in 20mm and a range of colours, I'd definitely be interested.
Fit is not the issue, the counter balance is the problem
Great idea to use this technology in watch bands but the concept in not new, there were versions of this back in the 80’s. Those waist belts were super chunky and stiff. Another problem was the locking system, the ratchet mechanism rubbed the plastic teeth of the locking system during daily fastening and over time the mechanism can’t grip the teeth and the belt slipped out of position. I noticed they have not been able to reduce the thickness hopefully the durability improved.
Bro Could you please do a review on watch brand :- Daniel klein, Guess, kenneth cole. This watch brands are really doing great in indian market and I want to know If they really hold any value in watch expert eye, I really looking forward towards your response.
I want one in 22mm!
Would love to see them in 20+22mm😢
Wonder if the track would wear over time 🤔and the strap become a bit sloppy
This is one of those things where you're like... shoot why didn't I think of that.
Found those type of ratchet belts in Vietnam and always got them there, always wondered why I dont see them here in Australia; patent and copyright issues or?
Yeah, that extra 2 seconds to buckle a traditional belt is a real killer...
Only 24mm 😢 If they make a 22mm version I'll definitely give these straps a go👍
Good afternoon, Captain Picard!
Very old tech. Montblanc have been using that system for MANY years on belts. Hublot have been using a similar continuously adjustable strap as well, without the need for the tracks (as have others). Oh, and Chopard.
Have you got links to one of those? Would love to take a look
Just placed an order - my citizen aqualand has 24mm lugs, can't wait to see how it looks on it! Thanks Ben 👍👍
Update. The strap arrived without a buckle. Oh dear. I've emailed them to ask for a replacement. We will see what happens.
These straps look a bit too bulky for my taste, I'll stick to Erika's Originals for now, but I was looking for a new belt, and you saved me 10%. Thanks!
Ben I just used your promo code and purchased that same watch. Cant wait to get it but I already own a kore belt and its the best ever had so I am confident about the watch.
I would certainly give them a try if they did 20’s and 22’s IF the price was right. 🙂
thankfully I only have 24mm watches like everyone else, it's also nice that it's bulky, taperless, way too long and the keepers wont go out to the end, who doesn't love a tail on their watch?
I've been wearing ratchet tracked belts for years and they are great: they are easy to adjust, they don't crease or wear the leather and they look neat.
If these guys can make a whole range of 20mm straps in a variety of style, colors and materials they might discover that compared to their straps, their watches are a waste of time and resources.
I´d say this strap would be ideal for my G-shock.
They have an Apple Watch strap that features spring bars to attach to the lugs, so that should fit most watches with a 22 lug width.
I'm not too sure about the material used here. I do not like resin bands in general and this one features no ventilation at all.
The watch sucks, but the strap might have potential.
