And just if you are curious… Below is from the company regarding the serving size and shelf life.
Regarding 2 servings, which many people question about meals like ours. It's a USDA regulation that one cup of food has to be listed as one serving. Most of the backpacking brands contains 2 cups so our hands are tied and we have to say it's 2 servings.
There are so many regulations around foods which end up making the brand look bad. The other one we get complaints around is shelf-life. Any new product has to go through a 2 year testing period before they can state on the packaging it's a 10 year shelf-life...so Bighorn meals currently say 2 years, but we know it's going to be 10 years, maybe more.

That bourbon chicken sounds delicious. The one complaint I have with all backpacking freezer meals is they come in 2 servings and not single serving. I understand that it is more economical for them and I should be able to control myself but oh well. Great video, I need to check them out.
There are very few companies that make the single servings. For me the single servings are a snack. When I’m out hiking or backpacking, I want a decent meal not a snack. 😂.
I was backpacking a few years ago and was burning a lot of calories, I would eat 2 meals at dinner.

The problem is, everyone complains about the price of this but will spend that or more at a fast food restaurant! 🤷🏼♂️
