𝒀𝒐𝒖'𝒍𝒍 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔! • I Bought a Nikon Z30, ...
In this video I talk about my first impressions of the Nikkor Z DX 12-28mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ as well as show the first images I ever took with it.
The Nikkor Z DX 12-28mm PZ is a versatile and ultra-wide-angle zoom lens designed for Nikon's DX-format mirrorless cameras. Ideal for vloggers, content creators, and photographers, this lens offers a focal length range of 12-28mm, providing a wide field of view perfect for landscapes, architecture, and everyday shooting.
One of the key features of the Nikkor Z DX 12-28mm PZ is its power zoom capability, allowing for smooth and precise zooming. This feature is especially useful for video recording, enabling seamless transitions without any manual adjustments. The lens also boasts a constant maximum aperture of f/3.5-5.6, ensuring consistent exposure throughout the zoom range.
With a lightweight and compact design, the Nikkor Z DX 12-28mm PZ is easy to carry and handle, making it an excellent choice for travel and on-the-go shooting. The lens incorporates Nikon's advanced optical technology, including aspherical and ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements, to minimize aberrations and deliver sharp, clear images with excellent color accuracy.
The lens features a fast and quiet autofocus system, driven by a stepping motor, which ensures quick and accurate focusing, ideal for both stills and video. The silent operation of the autofocus is particularly beneficial for video recording, preventing any unwanted noise from being captured.
Overall, the Nikkor Z DX 12-28mm PZ is a lens for those seeking a versatile, high-quality ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for their Nikon DX-format mirrorless cameras. Its power zoom functionality, advanced optics, and lightweight design make it a valuable addition to any photographer's kit.

I photographed a family event at a restaurant and it is perfect for such occasions due to the wider field of view. On Z fc.
@@alestomsic yep. 18mm equivalent is pretty darn wide
I have two of these lenses and one is with my ZFC for the overhead product review table and the other one is with my APSC lens bag with the other ZFC and Z30. Cheers!

I have a Z50 for everyday carry and quick family snapshots. I have this lens and the 24 f/1.7. The plan was to use this lens during the day for versatility and the 24 for night. But I'm finding that the 24 stays on most of the time. Nothing wrong with this lens. I find the size of the 24 makes it an easier and carry.
Right on Tony! Glad you're enjoying it.
I would holdout and buy the Z 14-24 f/2.8 S. Anything the 12 can do, the 14 can almost match it for wide angle and do much better in low light. However, cost is an issue for many, so the 12mm may suffice. I have found from my shooting that the wide angle shots seem to be better served by prime lenses. I think the holy trinity of lenses are a real good target for the camera bag in general. Keep a 2x TC with the 70-200 f/2.8 and you have 14-400mm to choose from with 3 lenses.
@@realnikonlover6207 I’m a prime guy too Jim, thanks for watching!
They are good if you like to do weight lifting. 2.8 in wide lenses is almost useless. Trinity is a thing of the past.
Im finding that the longer that I have this hobby, the older the lenses that I buy get. Hooked on old primes I guess. I blame the Angry Photographer 😂
@@captainkanji1 I do miss the good ole days. Thanks for watching Captain!
Since you are the man to come to. Let me ask. Is this a good lens for Real State? And, can I sue a Canon EF-M 11-22mm with an adapter, on my Nikon Z6II and would that be a better option for real state?
@@Nottoday3033 I’m not a fan of adapting personally, also, this is a DC lens for a crop factor of 1.5 make the wide end of this 18mm.
I personally think that 14mm is necessary for the real estate that Ive shot. Normal sized houses with normal sized rooms you’ll wanna every bit that you can get on the wide end. Hope that helps
For my F mount dx system I got several wide angle zooms in the past but none of them were good. Maybe sharp in the center but the edges just horrible. For my D500 the best option was and still is the 14-24mm f2.8.
I hope that this 12-28mm for the Z system is finally better.
@@Audimann It’s definitely nicer than most older stuff I think.
12-28mm. Wow that will work great on my Z5.
Oh wait it is a dx lens☹️
@@Ton-x4r it is a DX lens indeed. It will technically work but You would be shooting and around half megapixels
@@ZWadePhoto If you have enough megapixels I would say yes but a Z5 in dx mode will result in 10.5 MP indeed. A bit to low for landscape stuff.
Are power zooms the future ? .. 🦘
@@roybixby6135 I doubt it. Haha
No
I always mess up on unboxings. It is better for me to unpack everything and just show them the box. Then show the product. Video gets a little long when unboxing, especially not knowing how to unpack, having scissors or sharp knife. Cheers!
