One has to consider that this performance was in a 15th century church with the acoustics that are not favorable for high quality music. The meaning of the performance was more important here. This was the 14th May and Emma had visited the nearby memorial site of the Battle of Grebbeberg earlier that day (shown in the video), It was the anniversary of the battle where 800 lives had been lost in 3 days in the the early stages of WWII, then Emma performed in Cunera Church in Rhenen. A huge commitment by Emma which was important to her. To put it in context there were a few hundred people at this performance, but it meant that Emma was straight on a plane to London after as she was performing for 12000 the next evening, 15th May, at Wembley Arena.
William, I think we have to give Emma a bit of slack because of the venue, managing sound in that location is very hard, and I also suspect that the recording was not made using a feed from the sound system, which we have become accustomed to with the superb quality that all of her work with Andre Rieu has on the official versions, they are in a different league, this was a one off event, so they would have been limited in the funding they could use to provide the sound system. Wenn du wie wir ein richtiger Fan von ihr währst, hättest du ihren Aufstieg von einem kleinen Mädchen zu einer Stimmgewaltigen 16 jährigen Fantastischen Sängerin, besser beobachtet! Ich weiß nicht wie viele Lieder sie schon gesungen hat, aber davon waren so viele besser als das Original. Ich weiß, was du meinst, bei dem Lied von Josh Groban, du fühlst nicht die Stärke einer Männlichen Stimme, sondern hörst nur ein kleines Mädchen mit einer für dich zugegebener Maßen starken Stimme, die Lautstärke fehlt dir trotzdem! Ich kann dich nur bitten, schau dir andere Lieder von ihr, z.b. Father an. Es gibt unwahrscheinlich viele Lieder, die sie als 12-13 Jährige perfekt gesungen hat. Und nun zu meinem eigentlichen Einwand ! Emma singt fast alle Lieder Live vor einem wie auch immer zusammengestellten Orchester!
