Tash, while all you finished objects and wips are just lovely, your Heimathafen is looking beautiful on you. I can see it will be one of the go to’s in your wardrobe. Thank you for continuing to engage us with your vlogs.
I’m amazed at how much knitting you manage to get done. By the way, I’m the one who mentioned the five inch overlap. I made several pillow covers last spring and found this out by making some too small. I love the stripe idea for getting enough yarn to knit it.
The Broken Rib Top is a lovely colour. Yes cottons are rough on the hands. The Hat you have knitted is beautiful the hammer hoffen top looks amazing I like the new black top that you are knitting as well as as well as the hats take care❤😊
Love this podcast. I have been binging a few of your videos today as I work on some of my knitting. You are amazing in how many projects you can work on and complete. ❤
I love the types of details you share...I ALWAYS learn something and it helps me visualize design elements in my own knitting, something I find challenging. Thank you.
Thanks for the comparison of the two Petite Knit sweaters. It helps to know what the differences are to decided whether I want to knit them. I really enjoy listening to you talk about knitting. Cheers from Washington! ❤
I always feel you are very honest about your makes, patterns and that I understand a little more about the finer details of knitting. Thank you, I shall miss your weekly podcasts when you go to fortnightly but completely understand why. Just me being greedy, I’ll have to go back and watch the classics! 😂❤
Thanks so much for the comparison of Monday and No-Frills sweaters! I’ve been going back and forth trying to decide and this was so helpful! The neckline on Monday was the deciding factor for me. 👍👍👍 And btw I love that purple color. So rich.
Fab as always. The Heimathafen looks great, perfect yarn choice. You can add a section called “enabled by Tash” I called into the yarn bowl on the way to see my mother-in-law and picked up project bag number 10! I got the slightly lighter colour and I love it. I think I might get the smaller version as well, I think it’s the number 41, which I think would be great for my stitch markers, scissors etc. Best wishes for the new school year 🥰
Thank you so much Karen. I love that lighter colour as well. That had a longer wait time on the preorders at Skein Sisters and I got impatient. I like the smaller version of the bag too - i see one of those in my future. I think i have just been enabled by you!! ;) xx
@@mostlyknitting Ha ha - I know the impatient feeling! When I saw the yarn bowl had one in stock I ordered it even though they were closed until mid Jan, lucky as there are none left now. Oh and it's project 36 I think I said the wrong number. My husband last night said "have you ordered it yet".... nope! Why not? Guilt maybe ha ha but it will get ordered.... eek!!!
I love my zipper sweater light. Did it in a tweed (city tweed) so the zipper sewing would not stand out. Yes you will have to cut the bottom of the zipper - you sew over the teeth to reinforce it or if you have the tools can move the metal piece up. I hand sewed the zipper in and I think it looks less ripply that way.
I find that if I have something tricky like knit 3 together through the back loop, I use a crochet hook through the back loop. It's easier on my hands, but I guess knitting purists would be appalled. You can use wire cutters to shorten a metal zipper, although I might sew or knit a cover over the bottom of the zipper unless it's already sandwiched between layers. Good luck with your fuller school schedule!
Thank you so much Jillian. I think a crochet hook is a great idea. I used that for my Field Sweater and it was really helpful. I managed with the knitting needles but if i were to make again, i would get out the crochet hook. :)
Love your black and white jumper, it is soooo effective, your Stella cushion looks wonderful, could be a future cast on for me 🤣. So pleased you had a lovely time at the tennis, I used to go to Wimbledon a lot and just loved the atmosphere xx
Thank you. I'm newer to sweater knitting. Could you mention in a future podcast how to block your knitting while still in progress? Do you have to change needles to scrap yarn? That seems very time consuming. Any tips? Thanks!! Love your show.
Thank you so much Katherine. I actually did a video on this when i blocked a Musselburgh hat on the needles. You can either leave it on the needles or put it on scrap yarn or on the knitting cords. Here is a link. ua-cam.com/video/-fnUVzvCfJE/v-deo.htmlsi=HWa9Kd8fAvU4lHzE
Hi Tash Thank you for a lovely logic and well prepared podcast. It helps me with my dyslexic brain consecrate and learn. The cushion is lovely, wonder if I would manage? I have knitted a lot of mytered blankets. The pullover with mohair is going to be a warm jersey and the colour is my cup of tea. I wonder if your husband is wearing a pressure shield around his knee? I had a very bad ankle fracture with operation which was successful, but only after wearing a pressure stocking, which is at first horrible, but after a few days, it does become your best friend and helps for swelling and makes the joint feel safe. My fisio also suggested this, because the doctors push you to things with no help. It is warm, I am South African, but once you get the relief, it is okay. Goodluck both of you.
Hi Tesh, Another great episode! You are a pleasure to watch. I’ve been knitting for years but pick up lots of great info from you. Thank you! I’ve knit most of my sweaters with GSRs on the back side below the neck as I like the lift it gives to the back of the sweater, making the neck front lower. I’m working on Jennifer Steingass’s Avena pattern. The short rows are placed below the colorwork of the yoke. In your experience, does this bring up the back of the neck or drop the back lower edge of the sweater? Thanks so much! 😊
If it is done right after the colorwork and before you split off the sleeve, it should raise the back neck. I just had a look at the pattern. Jen's short rows come around into the sleeve section which is important, but not very far into the sleeve. I think with this placement it will do a little of both. It has quite a wide neckline so it shouldnt be too choking around the front neck anyway. But i am not sure these short rows will make a big difference in bringing the back neckline up. I plan to knit this in 2025. I'm interested to hear how you find it. :)
Thanks so much for looking up the actual pattern. So appreciated! I’ll be starting the short rows this weekend. Jennifer’s patterns are so clearly written! I made the Fern and Feather and enjoyed the process and FO. Loved the way yours came out in a video some time back! I’ll keep you posted on my take on the short rows for the Avena. Can’t wait to see yours in 2025! Have a wonderful weekend! 😊
I like raglan decreases when they are closer to the shoulder/sleeve. Is there a difference in this design element between the Monday and No-Frills sweaters?
That is a good question Carol. I might do a standalone video with more details on the differences (without giving away too much of the pattern of either, of course).
Thank you so much Gail. I could but i wouldnt be confident of what results i would get. I think once it is in the bag it wont even really be noticeable. :)

Thank you so much Cynthia. I really appreciate having the benefit of the experience of others. I cant wait to finish it. :)

Your friend from the vault looks gorgeous on you!
Thank you so much Tracy. :)

The Heimathafen top is looking amazing. Definitely like the Pearl SoHo linen quill it looks very vibrant
Thank you so much. I am loving making it. :)
Love your podcasts! So informative, and your projects are so so nice!
Thank you so much Connie. :)
I'm adding the Heimathafen sweater to my list! I love it and have been wanting to try Linen Quill. Cheers!
Thank you so much Carrie. I am loving making it and i really like the Linen Quill. :)
I made a Monday sweater in a plain DK, well hand dyed but on clearance with multiple dye lots… I want to make a fuzzy one like yours now!!
Thank you so much. :)

I get the warm fuzzies every time I hear, “friend from the vault”.❤may I suggest that you knit the broken rib tank as a dress…your shaping is lovely💗💗
Thank you so much. xx

Thank you so much. I would love to get to Wimbledon one day. xx
I really like the Heimathafen top, very pretty design.
It is a lovely sweater and a joy to knit. :)
The Heimathafen looks great in the linen quill as does your cushion cover. IKEA has great feather inserts for cushions.
Thank you so much Annie. Thanks for the IKEA tip. I must take a trip out there. :)
Hi Tash- I tuck my long sweaters in if I'm wearing high waisted pants. It looks great.
Thanks so much for the suggestion Joann. I like that look too. :)
Love the Stella cushion and you Helmathafen sweater is beautiful. Enjoy your last week of holiday. Happy knitting.
Thank you so much. :)
Heimathafen is amazing - lady's look definitely!
Thank you so much. :)
Hi Tash, the creabea (Rebecca Clow) has a tutorial on inserting a zipper, and she cut the example zip she was using.
Thank you so much for sharing that Ilona. I will check that out for sure. :)
Hi Tash, a very nice podcast as usually. I think that long zipper for the sweater might work, as the collar looks quite large.
Thank you so much. Others dont seem to have mentioned it so it must be workable. :)

I love your tip on using long tail cast on for ribbed hats 🙏🙏🙏
Do you think the two by hat would look good knit longer for a slouchy hat?
Hi Tash
Thank you for a lovely logic and well prepared podcast.

It is warm, I am South African, but once you get the relief, it is okay.
Goodluck both of you.
Ps I wore rubber gloves to put the stocking on, makes it so much easier.
I think it could definitely work for a slouchy hat. :)
Thank you so much Anita for the lovely comments and the suggestion for my husband. I will get him to check this out with his physio. :)

Did you enjoy your trip to the yarn bowl while you were in Brisbane ?
Hi Barbara. I did. They have beautiful yarn there as well. Brisbane is so fortunate to have these two amazing yarn stores.

Tash, why don’t you teach dye your zipper to get a better colour that matches the bag.🙋🏼♀️
That should read tea dye.
Thank you so much Gail. I could but i wouldnt be confident of what results i would get. I think once it is in the bag it wont even really be noticeable. :)
