I think it’s so funny the camera wanted to focus on me. Since I can’t create chaos might as well get some attention lol. I hope you love all the books!
Such a fun game! Hope you enjoy those books and find some new favorites. I've been playing the game (plan to do more of a quarterly basis than a monthly basis due to limited time). It's been fun so far. So creative! Thanks for sharing and happy reading.
I absolutely adore your TBR game, so creative. I look forward to this monthly, as I mainly only watch TBR videos to get great book recommendations. Best of luck with that TBR. My books to read this month are Jade City, The Book of accidents, Spinning Silver and The Kaiju Preservation Society.
Thank you so much, Kim! it makes me so happy to read this! ❤️ Oh, sounds like a lovely list - I have only read Jade City and it was a really good book, even if the series isn't really for me. I'm curious to hear your opinion on Spinning Silver, as it's one of the books that's been on my TBR forever, at this point
There's this loooong video on UA-cam and it's just a lot of Alan Lee's interviews put together. Honestly, the best thing ever, I always put it on when I am stressed. Love hearing him talking about his work. Also this game is awesome, I got a lot of great prompts and surprisingly I already accomplished 4 of them 😂
@@libraryunbounded I got prompt cards 65, 67 and 68. I didn't shuffle them too well haha series jar and tbr jar and the mood read. I did my tbr and series jars as wheels so it's easier to use because I had such a mess in those physical ones I got rid of them 😂😂😂
Oh, I've seen what the river knows in a store here and it looked so beautiful, almost bought it. I'm curious about what you'd think about it. I should really give cosy fantasy a try. I hope both of the books are just what you need and that you have a great reading month! 🌸
@@libraryunbounded haven't got around to bookshops and bonedust just yet but what the river knows was so good had twist and turns and such a good ending.
Yay!!! You know it's a great TBR when you are excited to read all the books at that moment. This month, I'm just reading what is available from the library and what I have time for 😅 ❤
@libraryunbounded 😆 A lot had been going on, hopefully by the end of the year I'll have more time for reading, but we do what we can and keep moving forward.
I hope you'll enjoy Jane Eyre. I really liked some parts of it, but was bored to tears during others. My TBR has Wide Sargasso Sea on it which is a classic Jane Eyre retelling, so there is a chance we might read something related stories at the exact same time. As for what i'm most excited for, i have plans to read the second and third book in the First Law trilogy and i can't wait
Thank you, Kaat! I just started reading it yesterday and for now I like the writing style, I find it really comforting. Oh, that's so cool, I've never heard of this book before! First Law is such a treat - I envy you discovering it for the first time! Before They Are Hanged is probably my favorite of the three. Enjoy! 🌸
Wow! The Fall of Gondolin looks amazing! I love the classic fantasy illustrations. Hope it's a good read for you! I've only read The Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy once (and watched the movies several times) by Tolkien. I really need to check out his other works about Middle Earth. Wishing you an amazing reading month. That looks like a great stack of books!
Ooh I love Jane Eyre, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. They have yet to make an adaptation I really love, my favorite is the 2006 mini series with Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens. I also really like the 1943 movie with Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine. I can't decide which Bronte novel I like best between Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. So much talent in one family!
Oh, I am 100 pages into Jane Eyre and so far quit enjoy it (though I find it a bit too dramatic at times 😂). But it's really cosy and atmospheric. Oh, wow, I'm not much for movies, but I would love to see the 1943 adaptation. I find old cinema fascinating. So impressive that you know all of these, Kim! 💖 You know, I've never read a single Bronte sister book - this will be the first one. But I'm sure it won't be the last. It's impressive what they've achieved 📚
Aww, you are so lucky to read Jane Eyre for the first time (well, if you'll like it actually 😆it is favorite classic of mine 🥰) and yay for no jinxing this month🎉🎉🎉 As for my August, I'm really looking forward to Tress of the Emerald Sea that I've been given recently ☺ both the book and the synopsis seem wonderful :) Happy reading!!
Thank you, Misa! 💖 I just started Jane Eyre and I love the writing, as well as the gloomy imagery - that scene with the rain outside and her reading by the window seat was so vivid! Oh, I do hope you love Tress! I had such a fun time with it (mostly because of all the new info about the Cosmere, and because of the point of view we got)! Have a great reading month! ✨📚
@@libraryunbounded The gloomy feels get even better in my opinion 😉🙂 And it makes me so happy you like Jane - I really love her character - she's such a nice contrast to the people around her, so down to earth to the eccentrics around, plus her thoughts are the feminist origin in my opinion - we are all equals no matter our nature 💘 her mindset fascinated me already throughout my first read when I was 12 😊 The point of view of Tress surprised me for sure, and so far I really like it - also, I have the edition with the illustrations in it and these are beautiful as well 😍
Jane Eyre is one of my favorite classics. Not sure if you'll like it, from what little I've learned of your reading tastes, but hope you don't hate it too much, lol. And your addition is so beautiful.
Well, I've read a solid 100 pages and so far I am enjoying it quite a bit (even if it's slightly too dramatic 😂). It's super atmospheric and I am intrigued ✨
@@libraryunbounded yes, I love the atmosphere, and the story telling. I don't usually do 'gothic' type novels (I detested Wuthering Heights,) but this one is it for me. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far!
Thank you, Ash! It's one of those things with last books in series - I can't wait to get to them, yet I am postponing them endlessly. I think I know why but prefer not to dwell on it too much 😅 Have a fantastic reading (and not only) month! ❤️
OMG, so it! i just finished it - took me 3 days, only because I was forced to also work and live 😂 Had I been able to, I would've finished it within 5 hours (at most). Such an interesting read - mysterious, philosophical, beautiful, brutal. Absolutely loved it! Can't believe it's not more popular!
You might not think Hobbs sticks the landing until you read Ship of Magic!! Liveship is better than Farseer. The Shadow Rising is when WOT really takes off! Out of the 14 books, it is one of the best!
I'm really looking forward to it, honestly. I've heard so many great things about the second trilogy - it's half the reason I am looking forward to finishing the Farseer Trilogy 😂 I started it (The Shadow Rising) a few days ago and still in the early stages - 200 pages in or so. To be honest, all this romance is really getting on my nerves! 😅 If it was entirely gone and we could just get on with the end of time and all that, I'd really appreciate it 😂 But our crew is finally about to split up and do things, so I'm hopeful!
You definitely have the most precious TBR game. I love watching these videos. I think I remember from the last video that you said that there is going to be a digital version from LOTReads 2 as well. Do you know, when it will be available or is there coming a digital version in the first place?
Oh, thank you, Lisa! ❤️ I am working on the digital version and wanted to have it live with this video, but unfortunately, due to work, I had to postpone. I am hoping (and will do my best) to share it before the end of August. ✨
I just read roadside picnic. I thought it was ok I enjoyed but I don’t see the hype it was well written but I would put as a worth read maybe I missed something of the book what did you think
I actually loved it. I think it's one of the best books I've read, as a whole. Now, before I tell you why, I think it's important to note that I read it in Bulgarian, which is quite close to the original Russian and there are some specifics of the writing style that only work in those languages. But beyond that (MILD SPOILERS BELOW): First, I think this take on the first contact with aliens trope was quite original, especially considering that the book was written in the late 70s. I think this is one of the few books ever, where the alien "presence" and technology actually felt alien. The treks through the zone were always so eery and creepy. I also really liked the way it was told - setting up the scene with an interview and then following a pretty shady guy, who does bad because he wants to be good. Seeing him in the different stages of his life (even if separated by only a few years) was so well done. Kind of like seeing the zone through the life of the people around it. The whole human aspect of this bizarre situation was really what won my heart. Being in this messed up reality and having to live with what you've seen - no longer knowing what is normal, just knowing there won't be a "normal" for you ever again. Making terrible decisions and facing the consequences. The focus was taken from the big shiny exciting event (the landing of aliens) to the simple ugly tragedy that is left in its wake. And I loved this open ending, because anything beyond the point we were shown, would've ruined the realism of it. Maybe the book spoke to me because I like depressing books, for the lack of a better word. And maybe I saw in it what I had been wanting to see in other books, without knowing it. But no book is for everyone and if you weren't impressed, I can understand completely :)
@@libraryunbounded that was well put I do think I missed parts of the book I think I will read again next year many thanks for that it made little more sense
